Since my need for periodontal maintenance couldn't wait that long...I was forced to seek out other Dr's. I guess they're just so busy they don't need my business. Interesting that a scaling procedure was done here...but a few short 8 months later that the new Periodontist said it all had to be repeated, of course this time out of pocket as the insurance won't pay but every 2 years. Make me think that they didn't really do the job they were paid for in the first place. :(

Heads up about Delta Dental…read more Back in December, my wife had a necessary dental procedure to restore her front teeth...teeth that had been slowly deteriorating for years due to a traumatic accident. Her dentist warned that they were crumbling and it was affecting both function and appearance. Veneers were denied by Delta Dental as "cosmetic," so we went with a more traditional, functional fix: dental crowns (caps). We paid our $2,100 share upfront, and the dentist submitted the rest to Delta. Then came the multiple and changing denials. I called, and a representative that first said the claim was mistakenly flagged by their AI system (yes, a robot is reviewing your dental health now). The AI thought she'd had similar work done recently, which she hadn't. Turns out, it confused work on her back teeth completed years ago with the current procedure on her front teeth. The rep acknowledged the mistake and said they'd resubmit. Weeks later...another denial. This time, the reason changed. Now they were denying it not because of the AI error, but because the treatment was "cosmetic" since it involved visible teeth. That's right..fixing broken front teeth is considered cosmetic. Apparently, if the teeth had crumbled in the back of her mouth, Delta would have covered it. We've since filed a grievance. But this feels like Delta Dental is shifting the reason for denial depending on the day and hoping we'll just give up and pay. To business owners and HR managers: If you're offering Delta Dental to your employees, understand this, coverage may be acknowledged only to be denied after the procedure. And good luck getting a clear answer as to why. To everyone else: Be careful. This company may tell you something is covered, let you pay out of pocket, and then pull the rug out from under you. Delta Dental, in my opinion, is acting in bad faith and the real cost is being passed on to patients and the hardworking dental professionals stuck chasing money for procedures that should be covered by the policy.

Yelp isn't used much in Arkansas, so I had to read some reviews on Facebook, which is still weird to me, and I found the website for the Central Arkansas Pediatric Dentistry. I called to request appointments and the lady who helped me over the phone was polite and extremely helpful. If you're a new patient, you can fill out all of the paperwork online ahead of time to spare your hand and save time. Your signatures will be captured once you check in. Michelle & Trudy are the two helpful ladies that sit at the receptionist desk and are the first ones to greet you as you walk in. My information was reviewed and signatures were collected, which made the first visit less stressful since I filled out the paperwork ahead of time. The waiting area in front of the desk has a TV and couches and off to the right of the entrance door (behind the couches) there is a little play area for kids with cool chairs from Ikea that they can hide in. Deidra & Nicolette were the techs that performed the cleaning and x-rays for my kids. Both young ladies were very professional and let the kids warm up to them to help make their first visit better. I was very pleased with how they interacted with my middle two, especially my youngest daughter, because both of them opened up and were comfortable with them by the end of the visit. Dr. Jana came to see both of them and also tried to relate to both of them to make them more at ease. Unfortunately, she isn't really familiar with Star Wars because Sebastian was a little disappointed she didn't know who Kylo Ren was (he was wearing him on his shirt), but we'll give her a pass. haha :) My middle two enjoyed their visit, so I'd say the search was a success. Hopefully my eldest and youngest have a great first visit as well. Either way, Dr. Jana has 2 very pleased patients.

I made complaint to the Dr personally, but he just sided with his staff. At that point I figured he didn't need or want to see me again.

Dr…read more Jordan prepped two teeth for crowns yesterday, putting two temp crowns on with ease but later in the evening, my top lip starting swelling a little bit. I wrote it off because there was a bit of soreness from the numbing injections. Well, this morning my top lip, on that side, was swollen and it was sticking out about half an inch (see photos)!! I called the office at 8:21 and had to leave a voice message. 1:00 rolls around & no one called me back , so I called back. Left another message. One of his staff finally called me back just to say another staff member needs to call me... fine, that's okay. 3:38, I call back and a live person does answer but by this time I was livid. The person I spoke to told me to come on in & they would see me. One of his assistants said to me, "well, the lady that was suppose to call you back had been very busy with patients" and I prompted said that I'm a patient too! Now, my pharmacy closes at 4:30 so at 4:26, Dr. Jordan said he would call them so I had to fly like a bat out'ta hell to get there in time! I have NEVER had any swelling before so I don't know what has caused it this time. Dr. Jordan said it may be ulcers trying to form at the injection sites.... how & why?!?! Like I said, I don't have an issue with Dr. Jordan and I'll keep going back but I had better have nothing but positive experiences from now on! P.S. It took 40 minutes from the time I walked in to the time I left!
