We chose this winery not because we had heard of it, or for its reputation but because I tend to just make a selection on a whim and go with it. I was not disappointed. When you drive off of the road onto the dusty gravel drive and follow this to the tin building at the end, you would be forgiven for thinking this is a poky little place with little to offer. Think again. From the moment you step inside it is crystal clear that a great deal of thought has been put into it. It is simple, but very warm and friendly. It is very rustic, but welcoming and family friendly. This isn't a winery where your ignorance of wine is dismissed or where you are made to feel as though you should know more than you do. We sampled around 9 or 10 wines whilst at Mount Jagged, and the selection was very varied. They produce Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and there was a real cross section available to taste, catering for all of the different palates of my party. In addition, there are tables and chairs inside and out, sign fantastic views. And for those visiting with children, a fantastic children's corner to keep the little ones busy while we sampled their wares. As if this was my good enough, the staff are very welcoming and very engaging, showing a lot of interest in our children, offering them juice and spending a lot of time with us to explain the wines each in detail. This is a great little winery…read more Super basic and rustic in its decor and presentation. The cellar door is literally a tin shed which displays its own special charm on entry, not contributed least of all to by the view. The green rolling hills covered in vines with a well appointed dam just to the left work their immediate winery magic on me. The sparklings are of particular note and if you enjoy a medium bodied red you will likely find something here to appeal to your palette. I love trying reds such as those from the cool climate vineyards of Mount Jagged which are so different in character to the highly commercialised and popular Barossa and McLaren Vale offerings typical in South Australia. Their whites were not for me with some pleasant food wines, including grape varieties such as sem, sauv and chardonnay which for the most part displayed distinctive mineral characteristics. The liberal use of french oak may also be of interest to certain connoiseurs. Me - I just like to pick a glass and enjoy the scenery!

So far my highly recommended dish is the Zucchini and Corn Fritters with crème fraîche, avocado and a salsa and rocket salad. For $15 you get 2 large, fluffy and tasty fritters on a bed of salad that gives your mouth a little zing in the morning. A smooth bonsoy coffee left me with liquid-envy when I realised I could have ordered it in mug size instead of standard, but I have learned my lesson. The inside is simple and the place doesn't try too hard, it just is genuinely cool. A student share-house kind of feel, everyone seems to be a local or a regular and the outdoor tin shed and grapevine patio just amplifies the laid back vibe of the place.

It is a quaint little winery south of the famous Barossa Valley. Family owned and run by Janet and Ron Liebich for the past few decades, this clearly is held together by love spanning three generations and counting. Liebich Wein literally means "Love I Wine" in German for the trivia enthusiasts. Greeted by a French backpacker who is helping out the family, we were encouraged to try their wines and fortifieds while they put on the finishing touches to the lunch. The fortified wines I had was delicious, starting from young to old vintages. I learnt that you can come and purchase fortified in bulk for a very very reasonable price. For example, 1 litre of muscat is only $10.00, $7.50 for the Ruby Grenache. Wines starting from $15.00 a bottle! I can't believe how awesome this place is for value. Moving on to our lunch, we were ushered into their barrel room. We were surrounded by walls of wine barrels which gave an otherwise cold feel to this tin shed. The place was run very casually to the point where the adjective unorganised might pop up more than once. We found it amusing and charming. Foodwise, I had the pork and rabbit brawn, a falafel and a vego pattie, while the girls who ate meat had the lamb kibbi and beef and pork sausage roll. All was presented on a wooden platter with our flight of wines. It was all lovely, but didn't hit the spot on a cold spring afternoon. I guess we were hoping for more hearty offerings. Nevermind, the generous wines and tastings more than made up for it. We left slightly tipsey and me, with a rare bottle of semillion. Off to our next destination!

This one here is in ok repair (some chairs are a little old and need wood replacement). There is a good amount of seating though with a few booths out the front. Also lots of grassed area for families to bring a rug, sit and relax. One thing I like about this oval is where it is positioned. Whoever picked the spot, they did it right. Why? Well, when the sun goes down the stadium shades the grounds. That is perfect, especially if you are watching a summer sport. Great for the players as well. One thing that I was not impressed with was the range of food options. Hot dogs, chips and nachos. Hmmm... I could totally see a bunch of Food Trucks out here. And being that Adelaide has some amazing ones, why not have the option of some super amazing food to enjoy while you watch a game. Who knows, maybe it will bring a whole bunch more people?! The place just looks good, which is odd for a footy club. Instead of just a short wire fence around a crappy oval, there are beautiful brick walls, gardens and even a rotunda. The inside of the place is half/half. Half nice grandstand and seating, half looks like any other local football club, which makes for a great, sometimes relaxed, sometimes electric atmosphere at good SANFL games.
