Is it possible to leave no stars? I can't believe I went back to this place after my bad experience…read morelast year, but for convenience sake I just got the appointment for my daughter again. Between these last two visits, the office staff initially told her they don't DO eye exams (huh?!) and that she should leave, after I purposely made the appointment for that reason. She went back in later that day to get her eye exam when they said, oh, you wanted an EYE exam! They didn't know how to bill her for the service, overcharged then reversed the charge, and tried to tell my daughter she needed an extra exam(=more $) for a different type of contact. Dr. Liva stressed how very important it was that she take the prescription medication for floaters, which they didn't even give her when she walked out. He then proceeded to speak inappropriately to my daughter about her personal life. Yikes! How can someone be so bad and still be in business! One initial reason I went to them in the first place is they assured me they're in network for her eye exam. They're not. I couldn't figure out why the waiting room was so crowded with people until I realized there was probably a bomb threat going on down the hall and they needed some place to cop a squat till the all clear. I'd advise them to go back to the third world country that they come from but I've got too much respect for health care workers in third world countries.

wanted lasik for awhile, but waited until i had a stable prescription for 3yrs+ and was 25…read more did a virtual consultation first to test the waters. had my in person consultation at Lasik Vision Institute in Rochelle Park. I have a bad astigmatism in both eyes.. (also nearsighted) no wait time in rochelle, did eye exams and was told i was eligible.. was able to schedule the surgery same day at LasikPlus in Paramus! paramus was busier than rochelle. Surgery takes 15-20mins. I won't lie, they underplay the recovery discomfort.. for me, it was more than just discomfort after (felt like multiple ripped contacts). Came back to Rochelle for my Follow up Visit. 20/15 vision! Takes up to 3 months for stabilization. Both locations had helpful, welcoming staff.. seems like a lot of the staff had lasik themselves. after my discount, i paid $3.6k, which is how much i usually spend in 3 years on my eyes. btw i live over an hour away, so i did not choose them for convenience or price. Update: It's been a little over a month since my procedure.. I stopped having any side effects after 3 weeks. Things i learned and wish i knew beforehand: 1. Go to your eye doctor and get their opinion first! (corneal thickness and pupil size) The lasik doctors are helpful, but they're def more in it for profit than scaring ppl away. 2. Apparently, lasik might cause cataracts 10-15 years earlier than normal.. but i would assume by the time i'm old enough for cataracts, the technology will be significantly improved. 3. the corneal flap heals, but will never fully heal. would require significant trauma to dislodge a healed flap. can usually be put back into place no problem. 4. lasik affects your eye pressure. could affect an accurate glaucoma diagnosis. update again: its been over 5 months and i'm doing great!

Had my Lasik done in June 2021. Biggest mistake of my life. All of the super friendly employees…read morekept carrying on about how great it was going to be not having to wear glasses any more. I was told at my consultation that I would still need reading glass and that I would be able to drive the next day. The next day I couldn't see at all and was in horrible pain. I got a ride to my follow up appointment and was told that older people take longer to heal. I knew something went horribly wrong and I expressed that to Dr Conti but she just got real snotty and brushed me off. I wasn't able to drive for a few weeks and when I tried to tell Dr Conti that I couldn't even see the dashboard of my car and that my eyes were killing me that it felt like there was globs of wet sand in my eyes she told me she had never heard of such a thing. She made it pretty clear that she could careless. My near vision is pretty much gone now and it fluctuates so I have to keep different strength reading glasses with me at all times. My distance is blurry like I'm looking through smoke. My eyes are so dry and burning that the pain gets unbearable. I am no longer able to drive at night because of the starbursts and halos. Dr Conti did nothing but tell me this is what happens to old people and that my issues were from my age, not the lasik. I didn't have these problems before lasik, so I just happened to age the day after got lasik? OH OK! Then I had Dr George, who comes off like the most loving caring person in the world. She had the job of stringing me along for a while and she did a good job of it. I thought she was wonderful. Turns out she is just a really good actress and should win an academy award for her roll of compassionate doctor. She had me try different eye drops, none that helped. When I asked about glasses & punctal plugs she said they wouldn't help me. Finally in November I went to a different eye doctor. The first thing he said after he looked at my chart was that he did not think I was a good candidate for Lasik.  That he would have advised against it. I was told that the reason my vision is blurry all the time is because I was under-corrected and he gave me glasses. My distance isn't blurry for the first time in months. I had Punctal Plugs put in and my eyes no longer feel like they are on fire and I'm not in pain 24 / 7. Instead of getting any help from anyone in the The LASIK Vision Institute in Rochelle Park NJ they just allowed me to suffer so that they wouldn't have to admit there was a problem and that something went very wrong. Dr Conti and Dr George are just heartless and cruel. How any doctor could allow a patient to suffer they way they did is beyond me. My vision is destroyed and the quality of my life will never be the same. If I could have given 0 stars I would.
