Friendly service! Great little game shop. We were warmly greeted when we came in and they had a nice variety of retro games.

I really wanted to like Live Action Games, but man, they make it hard. The first time I went in to get the save battery on my Pokemon cartridge replaced. It took a while, but that was okay- a working game and some time is worth it. Plus the charge was reasonable. Except that the battery burned out four days later- when I was out of town. Their return policy is for seven days. I understand not having a longer return policy, but seven days is so short as to require pre-planning. The second time I went in, I picked up several retro games for the PS1 for my fiance for Valentine's Day. When we tried playing them, several didn't work. Once again, that seven day return policy bit us- it had been nine since I picked them up. Ultimately, it's my fault I trusted them more than once. Learn from my foolishness. read more

A little bit pricier than disc replay over on prospect, but the local business feel and just fun aesthetic of the store make the place worth a visit. I did buy a Nintendo 64 with a cartridge reader problem (it would turn on maybe one out of every 20 times and for only certain games) and wasn't given the option to exchange it after the initial warranty period, but it is my fault for not trying out the system earlier as it was a present. The store worker was polite and tried a few cleaning methods but to no real avail and with no offering to do the exchange after speaking with the owner. In the end worth a visit, but maybe worth visiting both here and disc replay before making any purchases. read more

First time in this store today. For a used game store, they have a high standard for what they accept and I could spend all day in there, the selection is so great! Everything is in decent enough condition that I don't have to temper my excitement if I see a game and then realize the game or case has been trashed and then not get it. The worker there is kind of sarcastic which I like, but may not be for everyone. They are also a Limited Run Games authorized reseller so you can find a lot of games from that publisher at reasonable prices that aren't the scalping prices on eBay. I have been coming here for a while now. The owner is friendly and just a great guy in general! But that isn't why I come here. It's the fact that he will not do anything to overcharge his customers, will make sure they are satisfied, and will get in certain items no other store In town can. LAG has changed owners again. Adrian is back to running the store and I couldn't be happier. I visited a month ago and everything has changed back to normal. Prices of games have dropped tremendously and service to the customer is definitely different (they want you to stay and talk about games). They sell broken games but won't exchange them. Instead they offered to repair them for a charge. Great way to lose a customer. If you live in champaign and can get back to the store within their seven day warranty period, they might be worth your time. Otherwise avoid them. read more

ATTENTION: Do not go to this store for any repairs on game systems, I took my PS3 for a simple power supply repair and not only did they not fix the problem but made it significantly worse, they hide behind their customer service which is barely describable as mediocre and a "warranty" which only lasts 7 days following their patchwork repairs. 70$ later I'm stuck with a giant paperweight. Don't waste your time, if I could give this place negative stars I would. Borderline scam-artists. read more

This place is an absolute waste of time. They offered me a mere $10 for my WWE Brawlstick for Xbox 360. Brand new over $100 not to mention the hours I put into replacing all the hardware and art on the front. Avoid this place or they'll try to rip you off to. read more

Terrible. They sell scratched games that won't even play. And they will not give you a refund! My son was sad when we got home and his disc wouldnt even play. I looked at is, seriously had like 500 scratches. Why would they even sell a disc like that? Why would they not test the game before selling? When i went to return it they said they had to go through a disc cleaning process to even give me STORE CREDIT. Of course the disc still didn't work so they gave me store credit that i didn't even want because this place is terrible. Also i hate the girl working there. She is super RUDE. read more
