The atmosphere was beautiful and the staff were kind and attentive. The pasta with pistachio cream and Meyer lemon was sublime as was the guacamole salad. We had a bottle of local wine and topped off the meal with lemon sorbet. We hate going to the same place twice while on vacation in fear of missing something else, but we MUST go back. A+

Rocky was so easy to communicate with and he arranged a personal driver from the airport in Leon to San Miguel de Allende. Our driver Chimba was so helpful and definitely made me feel safe. Rocky even made a dinner reservation for us at one of the best restaurants in town and even arranged some spa treatments for us. During this trip we had to worry about nothing as everything was pretty much arrange for us. Having our own drivers was a tremendous help. Ricardo was another one of our drivers and he was such a respectful man and he definitely knows his history about the city. He was like our own personal tour guide taking while driving around. Gwen cooked us our breakfast every morning and would leave it in the fridge for the next day, she is an absolute angel. Now on to the property. The property is absolutely stunning! Very very clean, tranquil, and omg the unbelievable views just took my breath away!! We absolutely fell in love with this place and we are already in the works of booking out next trip back in September and I am 100% staying at Las Terrazas again. The property itself is gorgeous. I missed the tour of the property upon check in, so I am sure I ended up only seeing a fraction of it since most of my time was off property. Their Dia de los Muertos dinner in a large tented area in the back turned out to be an absolute must-do. The food was outstanding, and they kept you entertained for the entire evening. The walk to Centro was short enough to make everything feel close by, and eventually you got to know the streets enough to make the vertical challenge less of an issue. Dining, or at least having a drink, at Luna Rooftop is an absolute must. It gives you a view of the entire Centro of SMA which is something more encompassing than the painted wonders of the closer restaurants in town.

It reminds you of a castle, with the architecture: stone walls and steps, arched doorways and entrances, wrought iron gates and doors. And the view is incredible. We stayed in the "Corazon" room for our wedding anniversary and could not have been more pleased. We had a large private balcony with fantastic views into San Miguel de Allende, loungers and a table for eating al fresco if we had wished. Our balcony included a small china cabinet filled with housewares, silverware, serving utensils and anything we would have needed for dining in our room. It also included a microwave, small refrigerator, an outdoor grill for cooking and an outdoor sink. The room was large as was the bathroom, and the decorations were beautiful. The remainder of the Casa was decorated with many beautiful touches. Every day we were prepared a hot breakfast. We were concerned being vegan of what we might expect, so we brought a week's worth of oatmeal and other breakfast foods, but did not need to prepare any of them. The breakfast always included fresh vegetables, coffee and amazing juices. We also got beans and rice as side dishes. The carrots tasted incredible, unlike any carrot I've ever had! The owners and staff were friendly and hospitable and took care of our every need. We loved staying at Casa Angelitos and are already planning our next return!

We loved loved the location and it was super easy to get back to to drop stuff off or grab a jacket for an evening meal. The staff was very friendly and responsive. We felt safe. So why 3 stars? Our room opened to the hallway where people sat and smoked. It was the designated smoking space with ash trays positioned on the bar. Also, when it rained, everyone huddled there to hang out in the evening and smoke. Because the rooms don't have AC (and they don't need it), you have the window above the door open for air flow. The window in the bathroom is just a screen. We had an early morning (waking at 5am) hot air balloon ride one morning and people were out there partying, smoking, drinking, and talking until well after midnight. There is also a very bright light right outside the door and it shines directly into the room and there is no shade. The light can be turned off outside the room but that leaves the people in the smoking area in the dark. I don't blame the smokers, they were where they were supposed to be. I asked the front desk for a different room and they pointed to the room next door as the only other option. That was not an improvement. This information was not shared with us before we checked in and I wish it would have been. There are so so so many hotels to choose from in San Miguel. We would have preferred a quieter space. The room: The bed and bathroom were fine but there was definitely limited space. The room is small but manageable. The bathroom really needed more shelf space (really ANY shelf space would have been nice) and we ended up putting everything on the shelves in the bedroom and using that as our bathroom vanity area. The room came with a fan and heater but even in June it was comfortable and AC was not needed. There was an extra blanket, a glass container of water that they would refill each time they cleaned the room or upon request. We were lucky enough to be there when the Japanese restaurant had their grand opening. Their food is AMAZING and their hospitality was superb. I highly recommend you stop by for their food. Staying in one of the rooms in the BACK of the hotel off the courtyard would likely be great. Thus the 3 stars. Do NOT stay in one of the rooms in the entry area.

Went to San Miguel to celebrate my husband's birthday. Told the hotel that it was his bday when…read moremaking the reservation. We made a huge mistake of staying here. They didn't acknowledge it in any way - no champagne, no card, no balloons. And we are BOTH gold members. The photos make it look glossy and shiny, but it's not at all. It's a horrible hotel. Terrible service and completely inattentive staff. First day we found long strands of black hair on the floor, second day a roach crawling across the nightstand. Furniture is dated and dirty. GUSTAVO at the front desk was defensive, dismissive and unhelpful when we complained. We checked out the next day and lost a day of our vacation to packing, and then unpacking at the new hotel. On top of it all - no apology and they're refusing to refund our unused points. Do not stay here if you want a relaxing trip or to be made to feel special. This is not the place.
