The Citadel is all about showcasing local, regional, national and international talent. it provides a great range to all audiences with an innovative and contemporary arts, and with its unique building it encompasses all that it sets out to achieve. In 2008 the Citadel made the short list for best performance venue at the annual tourism awards. Though they did not win it was a massive achievement for them and one which is well deserved. The Citadel is a great place to go and see local bands and sometimes bands from the past. The youth theatre is also very good at putting on different plays throughout the year; tickets vary in price and are reasonable. The one thing I can say is no matter what it on at the centre the atmosphere is also great.
