We looked around some and Toula arrived. There was little assistance in the way of helping the bride choose dresses to try or sizes to look at. This is my second time shopping at Toula's for a Hollywood red-carpet quality prom gown for my daughter. In 2012, we called ahead and asked if they had a specific gown and they had the exact one in the exact color and size. This year again, we drove nearly 5 hours roundtrip from way west of Cleveland just to shop here, because last year's experience was so great: 2013 was no exception. Toula and her staff did NOT disappoint! They are awesome! The selection was plenty and the customer service was excellent, despite it being packed with other moms/daughters hunting and parading through the place in prom gowns on a very busy Saturday. After discovering the perfect gown, we found that it wasn't the perfect fit (much like last year - my daughter's a 2 in the hips, but more like a 0 on top) and it had an unfinished bottom hem on the train for some reason - Toula immediately assessed what needed to be tailored, pinned it up and promised it for the following weekend. NO CHARGE - those alterations were part of the deal: WHERE does THAT ever happen? We made our fairly substantial purchase with an incredible pair of perfectly matching shoes and went on our merry way, happy as clams. The following week I didn't want to spend another 5 hours driving out, so I called them and asked if it was possible to just go ahead and ship it (someone mentioned that when we were there) - and they were so accommodating - they SHIPPED the dress to me! It arrived in perfect order. Here are my ratings: Selection = 10, Customer Service = 10, Prices = 10 We LOVE Toula's!

My daughter and I needed to find a wedding dress today. I'm visiting from the west coast and…read morewon't be able to return again before the wedding which will be this Labor Day, only 10 weeks away. The only other store we looked at, Bridal Beginnings in Robinson Town Center, made us feel like morons for thinking we could get a dress in such a short time. Talk about condescending ... Ugh! So we drove on to Boardman as my daughter said there quite a few bridal stores in that area. We noticed Betsy's and pulled in the parking lot - the store was closed - but then a little grandma woman emerged from the adjacent gift shop. It was Betsy herself. She opened up the dress store and proceeded to invite my daughter to peruse any and all of the dresses she wanted to and to try them on. Betsy explained that the sizes on wedding dresses do not correlate with a woman's regular dress size and every designer is different so just try them on. Betsy gathered several different styles so my daughter could see what was most flattering to her petite stature. We had Betsy's full attention, she assisted my daughter in adjusting the dresses and advised on what alterations would be necessary - unlike Bridal Beginnings, Betsy was unfazed by our timeline. Although she tried on about 6 dresses, the first dress my daughter tried on was stunning and fit almost perfectly. It will be perfect after minor alterations the store's seamstress will make. The dress will be cleaned and pressed. And because it is "off the rack" Betsy is taking $100 off the price. We texted photos to all concerned aunts, cousin, maid of honor, mom's best friend and it was unanimous, this dress looked custom made for my beautiful girl - amazing. Betsy made our day a great day.

Our appointment started at 1pm, and it was for both me and my matron of honor who is also getting married. We immediately started pulling dresses, and were able to put them into our fitting rooms. I started with my favorite dress, and that was a mistake because I didn't want to take it off! The bridal consultants made sure to take things out and bring things in that they thought we would like. And the dresses that the bridal consultants put me in were some of my favorite dresses. The best thing about this place is that she can customize literally any dress and make it perfect. My matron of honor found the dress of her dreams! I did not find the dress, however, that is not the reason I had to take off one star. After looking back, I realized that there were very limited options. They did not have the options I wanted for a traditional dress, and the quality of the dresses were nothing over the top -- similar to a Davids Bridal quality. They had one dress that I loved the entire time. Luckily, she is able to customize the dress, however, it was very difficult for me to visualize what it will look like. Overall, a really good experience if you are looking for a very individualized consultation -- we were the only brides there the entire day! However, you need a very good vision of what you want before going there, and make sure you can visualize it.

The only thing being altered was the sleeves even though I inquired about it being taken in and hemmed. She pushed that I didn't need that. She told me to check on her in mid August, and that she should have it done by late August. I messaged early September, she hadn't worked on it at all. Told me it would be done the next week. I messaged her two weeks later again inquiring where my dress was and why we weren't doing multiple fittings. She couldn't get me in until October 5th. I found my dress had been butchered. One sleeve more than an inch shorter. She sent me home like that. They did not fit at all, and when I took it to another seamstress, the second seamstress found that Therese took many shortcuts, and did not alter the dress correctly. She basically just cut the sleeves off at the 3/4 seam, and sewed the rest of the fabric to it. Rather than making new sleeves that fit my arm. The appliqués were not removed at all, she just sewed right over them. She did quick dirty work. When I reached out to have it fixed I found that she did not accommodate my schedule to fix HER botched work. After the way she talked to me via text, I was not comfortable going to her again. She tried manipulating me into believing the dress was fine, even with pictures sent to her. She refused a refund, but allowed us to pick up scrap fabric from her PORCH. because she couldn't handle her issues face to face. I ended up having to get them completely redone with only a day to spare before the wedding. It caused severe emotional distress and took precious time away from my family due to needing my dress redone. Therese is not a seamstress, she does not know what she is doing. When my husband tried to correct the issue, she outright lied to him about dates and communications, to which I have picture evidence from texts.

Let me start this review by saying that I hate leaving bad reviews. But I felt that the way that…read moreTherese of Spiral Hill Alterations in Poland, Ohio treated me regarding my wedding gown alterations was simply unacceptable and I want to warn others of the bad service I received. My wedding was 9/23/23. I dropped off my gown on 7/1. Because the dress needed a lot done, she told me to contact her in a month to check up on the progress. I reached out on 7/29 and she claimed she was behind schedule because of David's Bridal closing and she had not started my dress yet. I had to reach out to her two more times until I was able to come in for a fitting on 8/24. This is where it starts to get bad. When I came to her shop, it was obvious she was overwhelmed with work, there were dresses strung all over the place. While happy with the newly built top, I could not walk in the dress. The underlayers had not been touched. The outer bottom layers were very jagged and the top felt like it was still big. I brought up these concerns, she claimed that the top would need to be loose to sit in. I felt like that wasn't right because the top didn't reach my hips, but I didn't press it. On 9/4, I had my last dress fitting. The bottom outer layers looked cleaner after bringing it up. I was able to walk in the dress, but it had not been fluffed and Therese did not go over each layer with me to show that they had been done like she promised she would do. I didn't know any better to look at each layer and fluff them out before I left. On 9/21, I took my dress to the venue and my coordinator helped me to fluff my dress. WE FOUND PINS STILL HOLDING THE BOTTOM LAYERS UP. The areas that were done were cut so jaggedly, that there were gouges taken out. It looked so sloppy. I was so distraught that my coordinator called Therese. Therese claimed she showed me each layer before I left. We pointed out to her that if she did, she would've seen her pins in the dress still. She pretty much told me I was SOL and to cut the other layers myself. I frantically called another seamstress close to my venue and she had me rush the dress over. On 9/22, I tried the dress on again after my new seamstress cleaned up the layers to find that after the dress relaxed outside of the bag, it was still 2.5 inches too long on me. I wasn't going to be able to walk down the aisle in it. So, close to $350 later, my dress was wearable, though the new seamstress said my top WAS a size too big. After confronting Therese about these issues, she accused me of losing weight in between the fittings. I hadn't. She refused any refund. While Therese didn't charge me to cut the underlayers, it was something she had promised and included in the receipt of services that were done. I cannot recommend her for your big day. Since David's Bridal closed, she took on more work than she could handle and my dress suffered for it. I can wholeheartedly recommend Alterations by the Clothing Surgeon in Lisbon, Ohio who finished my dress for me. This horrible situation left a very dark cloud on my wedding day that I have considered legal action, but I find that she isn't worth the effort and can only hope that the karma she gave me comes back to her. BRIDES PLEASE CHECK EVERY SINGLE LAYER OF YOUR DRESS, FLUFF IT OUT COMPLETELY BEFORE LEAVING THE APPOINTMENT, AND PRESS ANY ISSUE THAT YOU HAVE. YOU ARE PAYING THESE PEOPLE AND YOU DESERVE TO HAVE IT DONE RIGHT.

See my review of it. Mary Jane Ferris, wedding and event coodinator extrodinaire, sent me to Ferris Steakhouse for a venue. Then she connected me with Brenda, SociallyArtistic for all my flowers and decor. OMG Brenda is unbelievable! She worked with me and completely understood my personal, crazy situation of family etc. My daughter decided the colors for the wedding because she is a busy doctor and hates shopping. Brenda was so understanding and let me wait until my daughter told me the color of the dress she chose before we decided on our pallet. So cool. Socially Artistic delivered all the bouquets and boutonnieres to the church for the ceremony. She was there when we all arrived and pinned the flowers to the men and made sure all the ladies had their bouquets and corsages. It was a little hectic bug Brenda was like a rock in the torrent. I also got a wrist corsage for my mother-in-law. It was exquisite and perfect. My mother-in-law spent a lot of money on her gorgeous dress so I did not want to stick a pin in it. She loved her flowers. In fact, she has not had one word of criticism for the entire wedding and I've been her daughter-in-law for almost a week! I am just getting to the reception. Brenda and her team turned the party room at Ferris Steakhouse into a fairytale scene! Glorious hydrangeas an roses of every pink hue everywhere. And lovely candlelight at multple heights all around the room. There were candlelit flower garlands on the fireplace mantle and over the doorway to the party room. Every table was laden with small and large arrangements. Unbelievably charming!!! There was a topiary on the appetizer table that was magnificent. I told Brenda that I wanted twinkle lights and she delivered! Our reception was magical, thanks to Socially Artistic and Brenda's magic. Now I will tell you how easy Brenda made the whole thing. She helped coordinate and communicated our bridal party schedules. She was calm and comforting during what could have been a stressful time. She set up all of my décor in a perfect way. Everything was just perfectly coordinated. I highly recommend Brenda for your wedding. We are 3 months out from my wedding; there is no reason I should have to pay a cancellation fee being this far out. I was never given any information prior to renting the items and never got the opportunity to read their so called "contract" (that I never signed by the way) before I paid for my purchase.
