I came to Spear PT at Ft Monmouth experiencing lower back pain for a couple of years. I had gone…read morethrough PT before with little to no success but was optimistic that my experience would be better based on my initial consultation with Zach and my early sessions with Megan. These two are second to none. They immediately diagnosed my issue and focused on exercises and stretches that would give me immediate relief. Throughout the process they genuinely cared about my health and started every session with understanding how I felt after the last session along with my current condition that day. The program each session was tailored towards doing the foundational stretches and strengthening exercises that proved to be effective overall and they also sprinkled in others that allowed for progression and overall back health. Although my back was the issue and that was the primary focus, they also dealt with my issue holistically by also providing exercises focused on my legs. I believe this was the key and led to significant improvement. They also explained every stretch and exercise and its impact and exactly the proper technique. This was a differentiator because my experience with other PT programs was that the primary doctor would work with me for the first 10 minutes and then they would have an associate work me through the exercises and stretches. My experience is that the majority of these associates simply went through the motions and were servicing several patients therefore do not really observe to ensure the exercises are being done correctly. Both Zach and Megan worked with me the entire session, understood my progress, knew the exercises that worked for me and watch intently as I did these exercises correcting and advising me on how to make them most effective. Lastly, which probably is the goal of every PT program, they provided me the most effective program that I can do myself at home once my treatment period was over. I feel they absolutely provided me the tools I needed to manage my back pain long after my time with them. In closing, Zach and Megan are very effective and efficient at what they do and to top it off they are both genuinely very nice and caring people who get to know their patients at a personal level and make the time spent with them enjoyable while being effective. Bed-side manner does matter and they are both excellent both technically and personality wise. I recommend them both very highly.
