Coming from someone who has diagnosed needle phobia and trauma from prior ingrown nail treatments, Dr. Livingston belittled my anxiety and treated me like a child. Yes, my reaction may have been over the top, but it doesn't mean you can belittle someone due to past trauma. Furthermore, he did NOT let the anesthesia work before doing the procedure, and so i felt every little thing; which made my experience worse. Dr. Rob was definitely more understanding since I was able to let him know about it beforehand due to prior appointments. He allowed me to calm down before beginning the procedure, and then let the toe numb out, as opposed to DR Livingston. Therefore, see DR ROB instead because he is much more patient and isn't rude, or arrogant. read more

The office staff is friendly and efficient. Pat, in particular, was so emotionally supportive. After six months of other docs failing to find the source of my pain, Dr. Livingston immediately found the break. He's been caring, kind, and supportive, while also telling it to me straight in terms of my road to recovery. I'd much rather hear the truth than a fairy tale. Dr. Livingston is insincere & arrogant - Whatever you do, do not let them keep your charge card on file for convenience as they say, they ran my charge card months after the fact with out authorization- I only found out after I opened my credit card statement. The credit card company told me that is fraudulent. Reading other's reviews, I see they do this regularly. The office manager is rude and nasty like no other. On a good note, the front office and Dr. Einhorn were nice. There are plenty of good podiatrist in the area, I would avoid this one. read more

Keep billing and billing. Overcharge on insurance records- state procedures were done that were not done. False claims. Do not sign any forms because they keep charging your charge card long after you are gone- state"you signed permission for us to continue billing you". Totally unethical practice. I am shocked at the two negative reviews, I have had an excellent experience with Dr Mike and all of the girls at the desk! I had a surgery last week and just went back for my first post op visit I had no pain and have been very well taken care of! The evening of my surgery Dr Mike called to see how I was feeling and the day after the hospital called to check on me too. I get my stitches out next week and I found everyone very kind and super professional !!! I found this office by another recommendation (word of mouth ) and I'm so glad I came !! Stay away!! Had bunion and hammer toe surgery several years ago before the practice broke up. I kept telling them after 5 months that I still couldn't wear a shoe and I was in constant pain. They called me a baby. I kept asking for an MRI. I was told the insurance wouldn't pay for it. They kept taking X-rays to show me how it was a perfect textbook operation. At my internist's urging, I insisted on the MRI. Not to funny on how the "baby" had permanent nerve damage. I now have more issues than before. Uncaring, inept, arrogant!! read more

Condescending, unprofessional, and wrong in his diagnosis and use of surgical treatment. I trusted Mr. Livingston with my ankle. Was later told by another surgeon who had to undo his surgery that it was an unnecessary surgery which was not done correctly by Mr. Livingston. When I raised concerns after pain and a popping feeling months after surgery, he read an MRI report which stated there was a new tear. He said "the radiologist doesn't know what he's talking about". Manipulation tactics were used when questioning the discrepancy. I suffered years of pain, months out of work, and lots of money. he says you must do his "physical therapy" which is your foot in a pool and no exercises. When asked for an outside physical therapist, given run around. Great doctors have left his office due to mistreatment and condescending attitude. Patients are treated as if dumb. Bedside manner used to be top notch but in recent yrs he has become short and impatient. I hope he's learned from his mistakes. read more

Beware that if you need a bunionectomy, this doctor will also tell you that he will do a hammertoe surgery on you as well whether you need it or not. He did it to me and I have had nothing but problems with my foot ever since my surgery. My foot is worse than it was prior to the surgery. He cares more about lining his pockets than actual patient care. I was grossly overcharged for my co-pays, including during the global period after my surgery. It's been over six months that I have been working with my insurance company fighting to get the money back that they took from me and his office refuses to refund me the money they overcharged me for. Beware of their billing practices. If you have Medicare and a secondary insurance they should NOT be charging you when you come in, they should be billing you! This office should be investigated for fraud. Stay away. read more

This practices is the best. Dr Michael is not only professional, but is such a down to earth, altruistic person that it eases all your stress. I had so much pain in my toe and when Dr Michael took out a needle.. I almost cried.. however, I didn't feel a thing !! Yeah.. maybe a light pinch but nothing more. He is very invested in making you feel better. The office staff is beyond remarkable.. they are caring, go out of their way to help you and make you feel like your at home. Had a appointment and walked in the door and went to sign in and said hello to the receptionist she ignored me, said hello again and she turned her back to me. When I said that it's her job to great a patient when they walk in she got pissed off!!! When I asked to speak to the manager she just stood there looking at me and didn't say anything? I walked out. If that's the way they treat their patients when you are there God knows how they will treat your condition. I would not recommend anyone going to this office until they treat their patients alot better. First impression is everything, and they left me with a terrible impression. I'd give dr mike Livingston 0 stars if I could. I went to him for multiple surgeries regarding bunions on both feet. Right foot was successful, left foot wasn't. I complained of pains til after sutures were removed, he told me it was because I'm still healing and give it time. Time went on, and still having bad pain at surgery site and would get red and swollen. He took X-rays every time I came in and said it always looked great and blamed it on being my feet all day at work. Finally, after two years of complaining and him brushing me off and stating my X-rays were fine, I saw another dr in the practice and she reviewed my X-rays he has taken and she ACTUALLY showed me my X-rays and I had irreversible damage to my toe joint and had a FRACTURE from my bones rubbing! I went to 5 orthopedists and every one of them didn't want to perform surgery because of the damage and I was recommended to deal with the pain or amputate my toe. Finally, I saw an ortho at hospital for special surgery and he was able to save my toe. Beware dr Livingston if he recommends surgery!!! Please get second or third opinions from and ORTHO instead if you want it done right! read more

I am a recently resigned MA that worked for Dr. Livingston. Recently I was touched by Dr. Livingston himself inappropriately on the lower part of my back. The story goes like this an it hasn't changed. Me an a patient I wish to not name where in one of Dr. Livingston treatment rooms. At this point Dr. Livingston had just called an MA to come assist in room 7 one of his many treatments rooms in the practice. Now I had been waiting for at least 20 to 30 minutes for the conversation between the patient an Dr. Livingston to end so that I may transfer her to another room. The patient had many questions concerning her feet an needed answers for her condition. In dismay she proceeded to rub her feet in concern. As Dr. Livingston went to shake her hand she then informed dr. Livingston that she has rubbed her feet an dr Livingston proceeded to shake her hand anyway. To rub off the residue he rubbed it on the lower half of my back to where my back and behind met. I would never recommend no MA work for this disgusting man who has gotten away with inappropriate behavior an staff that only rely on history then on actual facts. If I could put -0 stars I would. Don't work here!!!! This is a practice that cares more about their reputation then their employees. read more

I don't know if those people below that gave a one star rating were having a bad day or something because this office is fantastic. As a person who is a bit squeamish about feet, the staff and doctors were phenomenal. I met with dr. Szczepanki first and he was very polite and professional. He was the doctor that would do a small procedure on my big toe and I can honestly say: NO PAIN. He calmed my nerves and talked me through the whole thing. The ladies at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful with the forms. I had no issues making an appointment. I was even in the area earlier and I called to come in sooner and they accommodated me. After my procedure they gave me a list of everything I needed to do and they even explained step-by-step what I would feel hours after my surgery. On my most previous visit I saw dr. Livingston himself and he was great! Great bedside manners, professional, and made a few jokes here and there. I took a handful of his cards to give to my family and friends. Stepped sideways of my deck and seriously hurt my foot. Saw Dr. Mike Livingston who took x-rays and examined my foot. X-rays were fine and he asked me where it hurt most. I said the side of my foot and ankle. He said I can only pick one spot. As I was sitting with my leg horizontal, I stated the side of my foot. He recommended hot water baths and ultrasound both done in his office every other day. As I began the treatments I told him that I take back my decision on where my greatest pain was as the pain in my ankle is increasing, but he did not act on my feedback. After the third or fourth time I saw him, every time bringing up my ankle pain, I told him there is something wrong deep inside my ankle and I think I need and MRI. He said the insurance company wouldn't approve it and he would have to get on the phone with them, so he wouldn't order one. Two weeks later the pain is worse and I go to another doctor. He immediately ordered and MRI (insurance company had no issue and approved it while I was in the office) and found a fractured ankle bone (Talus). For 5 weeks I've been walking on a fractured ankle, in pain, and making the injury worse. I think Dr. Livingston might be good for non critical issues, but for serious sprains or possible fractured ankle, you may want to see an orthopedic specialist. read more

I have recently written a very positive review but it was not posted. Since, I got such excellent care from Dr. Livingston, who operated on a ganglion cyst that 2 previous podiatrists were unsuccessful with, I decided to try a repost. Care in this facility is excellent and follow-up is assured. Manner of all personnel appears to be professional. In the past, I have found it very difficult to get good podiatry care. One can easily see that this office is equipped and has resources that are available. The care in Syosset Hospital, where the procedure was carried out, was also excellent. Dr Livingston appears to have the skills and resources necessary to care for the more difficult surgeries that other doctors either avoided or failed to complete successfully. He has always answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. I am very happy to have finally found a place for excellent poditatric care. Thank you Dr. Livingston! read more
