It isn't by any means cheap, you'll find exclusive brands like Ugg, Barbour, Clogau Gold and Portmeirion although there are some more affordable options. The product range includes clothing, ornaments, jewellery and homeware. It's a nice place for a browse if you find yourself in Betws-y-Coed but make sure you've a few quid to spare if you want to buy anything.

This branch has opened in (I think) the old Allied Carpets unit on one of the small retail parks off Caernarfon Road. It's not that bad a shop and is quite a bit bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. There are two floors, ladies downstairs with men, kids and homewear upstairs and there's plenty of stock to browse through. The problem I have with TK Maxx in general is that although they do offer generous discounts a lot of their stock is very expensive to start off with so even reduced to half price it's still out of my price range. If you're determined to buy designer and branded clothing, and you're not too bothered if you're wearing last seasons designs, it's definitely worth a look as you should save a few quid but I'll stick with George at Asda!

Branches of Boots Pharmacy seem to be popping up everywhere these days. It seems that they are…read morebuying up any small chemist they can find. This branch is pretty much exclusively a pharmacy. You won't find the full Boots product range by any means so no food, childrens clothes, perfume and so on. There is a very tiny cosmetics display though. Much of the shop itself is taken over by the pharmacy itself. The small public area at the front also stocks a decent range of medical supplies. A useful shop is you've got a prescription, you've cut you finger or are suffering from hayfever.

I always buy my Birthday or Occasion cards from here as they have such an unusual selection. They also stock a range of clothes, which are good value and different. You know that you wont have one of those nightmare moments when you walk into a room and somebody is wearing the same dress!! They only stock a few of each size which makes the clothes rare. You could spend hours in this shop, the lay out is a bit cramped and there is a real mish mash of stuff on offer so it takes a while to look at everything. But I never manage to come away empty handed, there is always something that I want and feel that I just cant live without. Highly recommended for one-off, original Gifts.

Very pleasant and welcoming staff here; the lady who managed to tame my thicket of hair, did it expertly and efficiently for £10 - with just the right amount of genuinely-interested conversation to keep things friendly all round. Sure, I know plenty of places where I could get my hair cut cheaper, but at least here they still adhere strictly to old-fashioned rules of hygiene - all implements in sterilising solution for a start - so you know you won't be going home with some sort of weird infestation (sadly, many's the barber shop these days, where the comb comes directly off the previous customer's head, then straight on to yours). The only negative? The unrepresentative, and fly-blown looking, standing sign out on the pavement really needs a re-paint (or burning).
