Booked for flu jab a few weeks in advance. Turned up - they have no record. Asked me to come back on Saturday. Did so - they were closed. Not how to run a pharmacy I imagine. read more

It has a small pharmacy for prescriptions, a food and drink area and the usual make up, bath products and a small range of gifts. The staff are pleasant and go out of their way to be helpful. If you need to wait for a prescription, there is a waiting area or you can pick up some shopping and come back to collect it.

Unfortunately I apparently cannot give 0 stars. I phoned…read morethis pharmacy between 9am and 9.30am on Wednesday 12th November 2018 to check that a due prescription from the adjacent surgery had been passed over to them to be filled, and to make arrangements to collect it later that morning or failing that, when they reopened after lunch at 2pm. I was told by the young lady who took the call that they had received the prescription that morning, and would be starting to fill it right away so I could collect it as arranged. When I duly arrived around 11.20am, the prescription had not been done, and when I tried to explain what I had earlier been assured of on the phone and that I had a taxi waiting for me outside, I was subjected to a vicious verbal tirade from the owner of the business, Mr. T. Singh. He ranted at me asking me several times did I expect him to magic the prescription out of thin air. His whole manner throughout the incident was menacing and bullying. He also made made it clear he did not care about the taxi I had waiting. I insisted that I had an arrangement to collect my medication. He then went off to find the person who I spoke with. An individual who claimed to be the party with whom I had spoken on the phone was produced. She claimed I had only asked if the prescription was there. I knew that was a lie and told Singh that. This produced a further threatening tirade against me, insisting I apologise for what I had (truthfully) said, which I refused to do. He then refused to give me my prescription back so I could take it elsewhere. I should mention here that I am an elderly man, over seventy, with serious life-threatening heart problems for which I am highly medicated. I am also an insulin dependent diabetic with potentially life-threatening complications. Singh was fully aware of this obviously, but did not tone down his verbal assault in any way. He eventually grudgingly gave me back my prescription and I then left to explain the long delay to the taxi driver and ask him to take me to another pharmacy some distance away (substantially increasing my taxi fare). I intend never again to step into this man's pharmacy and would advise others to avoid it like the plague.

Pharmacy stocking all your pharmaceutical products, satisfying all your medical needs, relieving…read moreall the symptoms of your illness and alleviating the conditions of being grubby and smelly. Generally serving the purpose of proliferating happiness and joy, reducing misery and discomfort, and disseminating jubilance. The pharmacy allows you to breathe (when you have a blocked nose), to drink beer (when your headache is stopping you), to smell nice (when your armpits are smelly) and to copulate (when you don't want to impregnate). What on earth would we do without it? Probably all the same things we do with it, only with additional headaches and babies. And on top of al that, it's a Co-Op, the most ethical company in the land, meeting government criteria for ethical trading, food standards, healthy living and supporting the local community. There is a couple of seats you can sit on while you wait for your prescription or you can leave it and come back later. If they don't have what you want they can order it in for you. I do find though that they do have just about everything even obscure brands that bigger chemists might not have Because it is a local pharmacy they don't open Saturdays and they also close Wednesday afternoons so it can be a bit inconvenient I think. The store is very well laid out with large, clear signs showing which floor and isles different items are on. Most of the items are reasonably priced however if you shop around at other stores (E.g. One big advantage boots have over the competition is the ability to collect points on your purchases which can be redeemed for money off future purchases.
