I came across this pet store while browsing the flea market and was very saddened by the conditions…read moreof many animals kept in plastic containers lacking enrichment while waiting to be sold. This is just another pet store wanting to do the bare minimum at the least financial expense because all they care about is making money, NOT about the animals. Betta fish, African clawed frogs, and axolotls (3 species that stood out to me as having depressing lives here) are all living beings with complex needs. They deserve more than a plastic cup with no enrichment or a tiny tank with hardly any room to move around. Betta fish like mirrors and a live plants to hide/sleep amidst, and actually axolotls and frogs also like live plants (which would be relatively easy for them to provide; they can propagate a plant and not have to pay for anything!). Supporting pet stores supports the cruel pet trade, but if you're going to sell animals the least you could do is give them more than a plastic cup to live in each day. Imagine if your entire day was spent isolated in a tiny room with nothing to do...have some compassion people!
