They got a deal going on right now for $20 bucket of wedges and wings. I have PC Express so delivery was pretty much "free". When it arrived the wedges was cold but the wings were still warm. However they forgot to give me my dipping sauce! Also I order naked wings and they gave me breaded wings! They also only gave me 29 wings when it was suppose to be 30! It wedge tasted pretty darn good as it was well seasoned. The wings were lacking a tiny bit as it wasn't crispy anymore. Even though they messed up on my order, it still tasted pretty good so I would probably order from them again especially at that price. read more

Since my last review of the Pickering Loblaws, they've renovated and upgraded some of their departments. Recently, in response to economic tensions with the U.S.A., Canadian products are labelled with the maple leaf. This labelling is usually accurate, but best to check anyway. The loyalty card is one of the best out there, and every month I save a considerable amount of money. Just remember to open your app and load the offers! Starting with the prepared foods and deli counters, the chicken counter has the ubiquitous roast chicken, which every grocery store with a prepared food counter seems to stock. It's good, but I recommend the chicken fingers even more. I'm not much of a chicken finger fan, usually, but these are amazing. On Tuesday, they are on Special! The deli counter is well stocked with a wide range of cold cuts and meats. I'm sad that they no longer stock Greek Feta, as deli Feta difficult to find in Pickering. Moving on to the bakery, the in-store baked breads have been vastly upgraded, and you can now get some bakery quality breads here. This is a welcome change! The health food section is excellent for a grocery store, and you can get all sorts of healthy and organic things there, as well as vitamins. They stock rye flour, and its one of the few places that carry it, as well as Bob's Red Mill grain products. The adjacent pharmacy has basic pharmacy needs, and they fill prescriptions also. The Joe Fresh clothing section sells a variety of reasonably fasionable clothing (for a "grocery" store). The wine and beer selection is also great, featuring mostly Ontario products. The grocery aisles are much narrower than they used to be, and sometimes it can be a challenge to get through! Here, the selection is much the same as it always was. The PC and No Frills brands are generally very good value, and sales are well advertised in the flyer. Recently, the International Foods (both fresh and frozen) offers a bigger selection, selling, among other things, frozen Chinese selections from T & T. This is a great upgrade!. It was true 3 years ago, and still is; this would be a great destination in a zombie apocalypse. You could literally live in this store. They even have alcohol to calm your nerves in such a crisis! read more

I frequent this Loblaws at least 1-2x/week. I have a young family, so for me, I get my bulk shopping done elsewhere, and my fresh and organic produce here. Pros: - clean - always kind people greeting you at the entrance - lots of selection and seasonal items - generally fresh, wonderful produce - if something IS problematic (once I had a whole bunch of pears that were gross on the inside) they refunded to my original payment (with receipt) - loyalty card is amazing for discounts and when you reach a certain number of points, you get money off your grocery bill! - mostly kind, courteous check-out crew - 30% off items (or 20%) for items that are going to be expiring soon is really helpful in this economy Cons: - weight portions of some items are ridiculously expensive (for example, strawberry cartons are not full, yet incredibly expensive) - I think this is grocery stores everywhere, but the prices are out of control these days - there are not enough open cashiers anytime we go during day, and I feel so bad for them because they have super long lines to get through - getting a price check takes forever (for the above reason) I absolutely adore the people who work there, though, and perhaps if management can help staff better, this can be a 5/5! read more

Purchased a beef Kaiser sandwich from the deli today, the lady was very nice who served me, but the food was sooooo salty it was inedible. Later I washed the salt off the meat and gave it to my cat. What were they thinking???? People don't buy what they can't eat. read more

I love the variety you can find here! Especially in the Organic Aisle! I've come to this location for years, and they are always bringing in new and excited products. Some of the key items I get here are the Peri Peri Chicken cold cuts from the Deli Counter, the Fresh Sourdough Bread from the Bakery, the Fresh Pasta Salads from the Ready Made Counter and a few speciality items like meat and dairy alternatives you can find in the Organic Aisle. They also have a good guarantee that all their cashiers are open on Saturdays which is so helpful on the weekends! read more

I returned something and it took less than 5 minutes. The person on customers service, Matthew, made it so easy. No questions, no hassle. The store is always very clean and the cashiers are polite. The cashier on express doesn't get stressed when there's a line. He's already efficient, so he goes with the flow. I think Wen actually keeps the waiting people calmer since he's not rushing. The managers always smile as they pass by which is nice. All the people I see working there seem pretty content. The produce section is really big. I get lettuce at one end and have to go aaaaalll the way to the other end to find veggies to put on the salad. I just don't think I'm used to a produce section being that large. It's huge! I feel like the veggies should be together and the fruit should be together, seems a little mixed when it comes to produce that doesn't require the cooler. Still a very nice store, a little pricy, but a good experience. read more

Their management is a joke. So called assistant manager's first response to a customer's concern is "What is your problem?" With a hostile body language.(He is a tall and skinny dark skinned guy with curly hair. Someone like him should not be in customer service, let alone in management!) I will take my business at Farm boy or Metro. As others mentioned here, you are guaranteed to wait for a long time for anything. Not only they have insufficient number of staff, but they are also disorganized and downright rude!! I called their customer service to comment on my terrifying experience, the agent apologized profusely and said the store manager would contact me. Well, that was more than 3 days ago! Go figure. Judging from the rude "Assistant manager" I knew I wouldn't hear back. I will not put my foot in this Loblaws ever again. I will make sure all my neighbors know about it and boycott this store. read more

Except for the fact that they have a section entitled "Ethnic Fish" this grocery store is pretty good. The produce is fresh and they usually have a not to terrible selection of organic food. It's not as good as the grocery stores I frequented when I lived downtown, but it's good and it's close. If you avoid the busy times it's actually a pretty pleasant place to shop. I wouldn't rely on it for all of my groceries exclusively, but for the main stuff it is more than adequate. read more

I believe Sobey's has a better selection of organic fruits/vegetables, and their roasted chicken is less salty. The only bonus about this store is the selection of President's Choice products, but you can get them cheaper at No Frills or Independent. I have bought a durable coffee pot here, but I wouldn't touch Joe Fresh with a 10-foot pole. I tried using a Loblaws points card but the cashier said I have to renew it online every week, and it only works on certain products. Nuts to that! Sobeys, here I come! read more

I love the product variety here - pretty much find everything under one roof. And often Loblaws has save the tax weekend - plus you can price match so while I won't be an Extreme Coupon-er anytime soon, I can handle a few coupons here and there. Whenever I visit I always go to the Joe Fresh section first and manage to get a few items here..then proceed onto my shopping. Cute jeans for $19?! love it! This store has steadily been going down hill. Shelves are always empty or the food is stale or expired. Don't know why I keep going back there, tried again on dec 17 can you believe no milk, celery, bread. The produce was either empty or old. I will never go back to this store. The worst run store. Sometimes I find it pricey, and/or crowded. And I don't like being hounded to join the President's Choice club. However, the food is fresh, there are lots of choices, and the Joe Fresh area is like a big fun aisle. read more

There was an error in pricing at the checkout. Advised the cashier and as she was unable to reach someone in produce by phone, I offered to get a photo of the price in the produce dept. She agreed, after verifying the product and looking at the photo, that I was correct. I asked whether under POS rules I should get one package of mushrooms free since it was their advertised mistake. The cashier (Ayesha) answered that she does not administer the POS rules so she does not know. After conferring with another cashier she removed both packages of mushrooms from my bag even though the bill showed one package of mushrooms at zero cost which seemed to imply I should get one free. I asked if the price would be adjusted so no one else gets overcharged and she repeated that she has nothing to do with that end of things. I asked to speak to a supervisor, she looked around and said she did not see one. I gave up and left. I know I should have stood my ground but the innocent looking incompetence was just too much! For all the money we spend there, Loblaws Pickering needs to step up and do better. We are in times of COVID and prices have gone up enough without being overcharged for things too! read more

Had a horrible incident with Ryan, a staff member in Produce. I was shopping in Produce and could hear Ryan nearby at another table filling a product and talking to another staff. He was ranting about something and called someone a homophobic slur (so-and so is a f***ing fa**ot) I was disgusted by this homophobic behaviour that I heard. I went over to another staff in the department to try and get the staff's name and the staff was helpful enough to give it to me (full name was Ryan Frank) and this staff also explained that there have been behavioural issues with Ryan for years in terms of homophobic behaviour and also sexist behaviour towards females. Ryan has displayed homophobic and sexist behaviour towards others for years at Loblaws (the staff said he's been there since around 1997) but that he always gets away with it because the union there is too strong and managers can't do anything. Absolutely disgusting. I will not be going back. read more

most places you go to will say something other than just the price at the cash. something along the lines of "that will be 9.99", or "9.99 please" or just general politeness. in the last few months i've had at least 4 cashiers say "999" ( or whatever the price was ) . is that their recommendation for numbers for a lottery ticket? no hello or anything. the staff here can be very rude. i have reverted to only purchasing things here that are not available in any other store ( i.e. chinese dumplings with no msg ) . if they keep up with the rude employees i will simply go without and shop where the staff is both pleasant AND polite. the buggy boy gives me the "death stare" ( i don't think it's discrimination ) , the hard rock music they play at times ( music to induce road rage ) , "angry music" as well as their in-store advertising over the p.a. may contribute to this nasty shopping experience. not sure. when you try to write the company they refer you back to the local store manager! go figure! he obviously hasn't seen the light yet. read more
