The staff? Legends. They speak fluent nerd, offer reading recommendations like comic sommeliers, and will absolutely roast you (lovingly) if you call Batman a superhero with no powers. This is a pure comic temple. Graphic novels as far as the eye can see. You'll walk in for one issue and leave with enough reading material to survive a small apocalypse. Unfortunately, my experience with the customer service was very disappointing. When I approached the front desk I was welcomed with a dismissive and disrespectful attitude. Firstly I was told that they would not purchase cards in bulk that were at least worth $10 and some of the cards I brought in were apparently fake. While I understand that counterfeit cards exist and businesses have policies to prevent sales like this from occurring , the issue was not addressed professionally nor was it communicated with the customer. Instead of taking a moment to explain why the cards were considered fake or helping a non regular customer understand the differences, the employee simply stated it without any explanation. I chose not to argue or continue the conversation since it was clear that a productive discussion was not going to happen with an employee who seems to lack common sense or understanding. However experiences like this can definitely leave a negative impression on customers who are genuinely seeking information. If your business is simply involved in buying and selling trading cards, customer service should be just as important as the products themselves. Even when declining a purchase, treating people with professionalism should be the standard. If you're only doing it for the sake of profit since you can't find any other way to earn money than this kind of business is not designed for you.

I was only looking to get this week's issues (it was NCBD) but they do they have back issues. And I mean plenty of back issues. It's separated by modern and copper/silver age. The golden age stuff is in the walls. They don't sell too many slabs but they have them. There's plenty of figures and vintage toys. This place is an 80's guys and gals dream. Overall 5 stars. There is a noticeable difference in the leveling of the floor as a shift occurs towards one of the sections that features novels and such. There are a lot of pictures on the wall to look at and plenty of rare or obscure issues of various comics to be found. Prices vary, some can go far out of my personal price range. Wayne is pretty cool. Hard to believe this place has survived since the 70s, but glad to see something that lasts! Stop by if you want some neat finds, especially if you're a serious collector!

The selection of fan paraphernalia and accessories is also extensive. The store has a fresh feel to it meaning that older games not currently in print and a large selection of back issue comics don't exist although the dingy mildew of yesteryear's geekdom (which my wife does not appreciate and is prevalent in many similar stores in the area) also does not exist which makes it easier to shop with my wife. She also can buy gifts without being creeped out by a crypt keeper staff pouring through antique Heavy Metal mags. The upstairs has a wide open area with plenty of tables for gaming. There is terrain and opened board games free to use and sample. There used to be a semi snack bar but has been removed, which I think could do quite well as a full-time service since many a gaming group and after school pokemon battle often frequent.
