I was only looking to get this week's issues (it was NCBD) but they do they have back issues. And I mean plenty of back issues. It's separated by modern and copper/silver age. Unfortunately, my experience with the customer service was very disappointing. When I approached the front desk I was welcomed with a dismissive and disrespectful attitude. Firstly I was told that they would not purchase cards in bulk that were at least worth $10 and some of the cards I brought in were apparently fake. While I understand that counterfeit cards exist and businesses have policies to prevent sales like this from occurring , the issue was not addressed professionally nor was it communicated with the customer. Instead of taking a moment to explain why the cards were considered fake or helping a non regular customer understand the differences, the employee simply stated it without any explanation. I chose not to argue or continue the conversation since it was clear that a productive discussion was not going to happen with an employee who seems to lack common sense or understanding. However experiences like this can definitely leave a negative impression on customers who are genuinely seeking information. If your business is simply involved in buying and selling trading cards, customer service should be just as important as the products themselves. Even when declining a purchase, treating people with professionalism should be the standard. If you're only doing it for the sake of profit since you can't find any other way to earn money than this kind of business is not designed for you.

All different kinds of toys and brands. I like that they have baskets and lower shelves (unlike a certain other toy store in VA Beach.) I mainly prefer the wrestling and horror figures. They also were cool enough to allow us to have one of the display cases when we wanted to purchase the whole lot one time of a certain collection. When I received the quote the next day it was an offer of $13.65. I was told that it's probably because they had a packed kids section. HOWEVER, this was not told to me over the phone or at drop off. I wasted hours of time and energy pulling this together and making sure I was bringing good books to get the max amount. I expressed my frustration with the process when I picked up the books. The person I spoke with couldn't have been more indifferent.

A five foot tall Betty Boop as a carhop waitress statue, a life sized Elvis, a huge spider lamp, modern art couches and so many other anomalies that I can't even describe, Cool and Eclectic definitely meets the expectations of its name. Having recently moved from its old Laskin Road location to two store fronts in Pembroke Mall, Cool and Eclectic has downsized on the amount of merchandise but still keeps its quirkiest and rarest items in stock. Many of the pieces are one of a kind, rare or collectibles, making the heavy price tags understandable, but still challenging for the interior design star on a strict budget. But search through the extensive selection, find your favorite piece and save up for it. It's worth the cost.
