We are an industrial distributor doing B to B sales. We contracted with Local Edge Buffalo office for a 90 day trial period this fall for AD words at a rate of $2,025.00 including their management fee. Our AD words did go to the top of the category but nothing happened. Not sure if it was unresponsiveness of AD word marketing or something else. Unable to track what the issue was. Our objective was to obtain inquiries from potential new customers. We received one inquiry from an existing customer for a reorder of what they have been purchasing and one inquiry from an individual looking for something we did not sell. Nice people to work with but zero results for a lot of money. We will not word with AD Words again with Local Edge. We did subscribe to their Reputation Management service which improved our company identification information and increased our ranking. We are satisfied with that service which costs $460.00 a year. We were customers of LocalEdge for 25+ years. After our Rep of more than 10 years left, the new Rep, Sarah, would make appointments and simply not show up? No phone call, no email, just not bother to show up. Their invoices don't specify what services you are being billed for. I cancelled our Ad in writing with months of notice. I never heard from them again until I received an invoice for the service I had cancelled. I contacted them at that time to be told that they had run the ad DESPITE our written cancellation. I have a "Read" receipt confirming that they received the cancellation but chose to ignore it and not bother to notify me that it wasn't acceptable, allowed or any other communication advising of their intent. Auto renewals despite cancellations appear to be a thing if any of the reviews I've read are to be believed. They have now sent us to collections even though the circumstances were discussed with Anne Marie. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and have been an Accredited Business in the Fayetteville area with them since 1978. We have excellent credit but refuse to be bullied into paying for a Service we cancelled particularly by a Company we've had a business relationship with for almost 30 years! If this is the legacy LocalEdge - Hearst Media chooses to go out with, we definitely made the right decision in severing business ties to them. In reading the numerous negative reviews, it is clear that this is not an isolatted event but more like common practice. I am extremely upset with the service here. This company is very pushy and took advantage of my immigrant father. Every time I try and talk to someone at the company about changing up the website (which looks like someone in the 5th grade made it), they always have excuses as to why they chant change it. Everything they put out looks unprofessional. I asked them to post photos that I send them and they refuse. Their social media posting is a basic sentence. I hired LocalEdge to do SEO and Google advertising the end of October 2019. They did not promote my website but promoted their own copy of my website. This means that at the end of the contract any benefit I may have obtained from their SEO simply disappears. On 11/18/2019 LocalEdge went into my website and changed my phone number to their phone number for tracking purposes. I never gave them permission to put their phone number on my webpage. On 11/5/2019, I requested that the tracking phone number be removed as it was not functioning. The tracking number did not allow my Verizon cell phone to forward to my personal cell phone. Customers could not get through to me and I was unaware that I had missed their call. On 11/19/2019 I went into my website and removed their phone number from one place. Three days later they put their phone number back into my website though I had specifically requested that it be removed at least 3 times. I was unaware of their phone number was on my website in multiple places. I believe they have breached the contract because I did not give them permission to put their phone number on my website and yet they did. The representative agreed their phone number should have been removed from my website but they never did this. I have locked them out of my website and get no value from their services. My frustration lies with the lack of customer service and the fault in the service provided. Since I have started 10 months ago, I have been represented by 2 different marketing professionals with little to no interest in learning about my business and/or what I'd like to accomplish under the Local Edge service. I have not even received a phone call asking what my business represents or a description of the business model. How is an email campaign supposed to be developed if the representative knows nothing about the business? The answer to that is that "it hasn't". My company has used Local Edge for 3 years, they ran our website. Not only was it difficult to have them make changes to our website, simple stuff took months to fix, if fixed at all. I would try to contact my rep, and would be informed, not once but twice without notice, that they had quit and I had a new rep to contact. Now on my third rep, it took me two months to get a hold of him (Courtney) after emails and phone calls didn't work. I finally got a hold of him and I told Courtney I would like to end my contact with local edge Bc of the horrible service, and he asked if he could meet with me to talk about it. We set a date and time, and as I figured, he was a no call no show. I called and emailed with no response, I contacted the head office and had them put the cancellation on my contract through. Local Edge is a scam. They call and call you asking for a time to set up a meeting. Once you finally do, they send a salesman to meet you and promise you the world! They say they will make you #1 one google and yelp, and once you sign a contract for thousands of dollars a month, YOU NEVER HEAR FROM THEM! Oh, and you also never become #1 nor do they fulfill any of their obligations. I found a local website develiper and we found not only was I paying outrageous fees for this company, but they had not so much as touch my website or marketed for me since I had signed the contract 1 year before!! They took $2k a month and had literally done NOTHING! I cancelled my contract with them, in agreement that I only owed $100 more, and 6 months later they are saying I owe them $2k more! I am paying as they are threatening my credit and sending me to collection agencies. I was contacted by local edge to do seo and digital marketing for my business. I was promised many things that simply did not happen. Being ranked #1 for Google searches for services we offer was the biggest thing they were telling me. We never even made it to the first page of google. After about 8 months I learned that they also did the same work for a competitor less than 5 miles from me. This company had been with local edge before we were. Once I learned this I immediately canceled services as this is a major conflict of interest. Local edge should never have reached out to me knowing they can't promise the same thing to competitors in the same area. They are now trying to collect the remaining contract balance and have sent it to collections. This is not right. As they used unethical tactics to contract new business knowing there was an immediate conflict of interest. Everyone I reached out to at local edge says too bad you signed a contract. This company doesn't even deserve one star. Aside from the absolutely atrocious work they do - the website they made for us was horrendous to the point where we had to hire another web designer to fix it and they referred to us by a completely different and inaccurate name throughout - they promised us a laundry list of services they would complete, including social media, video and more. The video also uses the wrong name, and they haven't touched any of our social media accounts. We are paying them $3,000 a month, and from what we can tell, they've done absolutely nothing. To say I'm deeply disturbed by Local Edge's business ethics is an understatement. This is a crooked organization and it's frankly shocking that anyone would work them. I assume it's because of the Hearst affiliation, because it's certainly not any of their past projects - you could build a better website on Wix, Squarespace or WordPress. What's worse, is that we are locked into a contract for a year and the money I'm paying them monthly to do absolutely nothing is money that could go to an agency that actually could help my business. My advice to anyone considering partnering with this company is to stay far away because once you sign that contract, you're locked in. Based on other Yelp reviews, I can confidently say that you will experience the same atrocious service, or lack thereof. I have been signed up since November and It is now June and received only 4 calls inquiring on my services. Part of the problem is they constantly have my information and location wrong for months and I need to babysit them to get corrections and changes.
