No better Self Storage in the area. New gates and fence at the facility. I appreciate the fact they take pride in ownership! Love the fact I can go to my unit when I want. It goes to show that you don't need someone sitting in the office all the time to have a great facility! Customer Service did great! Love the fact I can understand them and appreciate the fact they are based in the USA. Never have any issues! The price for my unit is fair and feels like a value compared to other people I looked at in the area. No other facilities of this caliber! Each climate controlled building is secured with a keypad. So it's double the security with the newly added gate system! They have spared no expense here. Facility is always clean. Simple storage in and out each time. #LoveIt read more

Avoid this facility. Extremely poor customer service. Attempting to contact the company invariably results in a message being taken (when the system works) and then a long wait time before a return call is placed. If you go to the website for the parent company you will see a multi-state operation without sufficient staffing to efficiently handle local needs. Insurance is tacked on to unit unless you can prove homeowner coverage. I have done business with storage facilities both locally and outside the area and this one is by far the least desirable. read more

Extremely pleased with my recent experience with Local Storage Fluvanna! The facility manager helped answer all my questions and ease any hesitation I had storing our families belongings! The recent gating system and cameras really put me at ease knowing there were extra precautions being taken as well. Highly recommend! read more

I had a great overall experience at this storage facility. The facility manager Gary was great! It was our first time ever renting storage space he explained the entire process. He made it a very easy and pleasant experience. He pointed out the gate system and the cameras which we thought was a great touch and help give us some needed reassurance on our valuables I would certainly recommend Local Storage Fluvanna read more

I had an excellent experience with Local Storage in Fluvanna. Everyone there is super friendly and go up and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. The new cameras at the facility and the gate are awesome upgrades. Highly recommend for all of your storage needs. read more

I have been a customer since 2015 and have had a wonderful experience with the facility. As mentioned in previous comments the facility has been upgraded to a gated access controll and I also see where there have been multiple cameras installed onsite. Online account management allows me to manage my account at my leisure. read more

Excellent experience renting at LocalStorage Fluvanna in Palmyra, VA. Recently installed a gate system and new cameras, property is well-maintained, online rental and move-in were very easy, courteous customer service checked in with me multiple time to ensure all went well. The storage units are not the problem honestly. I just hate having to deal with people no where near me if I have a problem or question. I've got to call an 800 number and PRAY that they will get my message to the storage unit management. I've had it take days for a call back and that's just not good customer service. I've never seen anyone at the office at the storage unit facility. A nearby business told us that they would, at times, see someone there but not often. The only number that's offered on the exterior of their office building is the 800 number to someone in tembucktoo. So never any immediate help with anything. I just REALLY don't care for this form of set up and customer support. When I was trying to actually secure a storage unit I called the number to find a unit but was hung up on twice and learned later that I was given two different units at 2 different facilities. I had to drive around to find out which facility was the RIGHT facility!!! However, there wasn't anyone at either facility to go to with my questions. It was SO DARN FRUSTRATING!!! I just don't know where good customer service went!!! read more

Fluvanna Self Storage started renting regular climate controlled units back in 1992 with a commitment to friendly service at competitive prices. That goal has not changed in 19 years. We started with a single building and now have 12 buildings with 399 units. We are located just outside Lake Monticello in Palmyra VA, just 25 minutes east of downtown Charlottesville, VA.

The company centralizes its sales and marketing into a single office in NY leaving the local people free to focus on operations (makes sense). The NY folks were very helpful, and the local operator was responsive as well. We would DEFINITELY look to use these people for any of our future storage needs.

Atlas Van Lines, American of Virginia misrepresents their products/services…read more I decided to go with a national firm, Atlas Van Lines, to assist me in a small, long distance move to reduce my risk in being scammed by a third-party organization. I knew I was paying more but it would be worth it. There are a lot of Scammers out there in this moving industry out there. By federal law, the moving company is liable for the full replacement value of your goods and is limited to $6 per pound unless you declare the items have a higher value. Unfortunately, I was sold on an upgrade of a program they call "valuation" that will cover any damages to my household items with $0 deductible. It was presented to me that it acts like insurance, and they use insurance narrative like "coverage and deductibles" where the company covers these costs of repairs and or replacement. The paperwork does state it's not insurance. What really happens is that if there is damage or loss of items, the company deducts the cost from the drivers paycheck. This is just wrong in so many ways. When I called the affiliate, American of Virginia, to make a complaint and to file a claim, I was told to call corporate. And when I did call corporate, I was told I would get a call back within 48 hours that never happened. It appears that their strategy is hoping that the customer will just give up and go away. Don't buy into this misrepresentation. I will be reaching out to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration To report this and feel free to use their website prior to hiring moving companies. https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move

Been there for over a year now. Every time I go it seems there is something new and improved. I wish the guy that runs the place worked for me, I know he must be a hard worker!
