The worst general manager ever just looking for a place to rent and there was a problem with the payment on my application and that's all she needed to say but she proceeded to get snippy with me and say how long this process is taking is my fault when all she had to do as a manger is say your card wasn't submitted correctly all we need to do is get the card again but no she wanted to push my bottoms and say how long its taking is my fault when all I want is to rent a place. And what's funny is I asked if I could speak to a supervisor and she said she is one but there is someone ahead of you the own of the business that clearly knows more about treating and talking people then you read more

This company has poor internal communication. You meet with one person and they give you one piece of info, but then when another person comes they are clueless. For example, I talked with the owner before signing a lease - they said my plan to move out early and leave the place to my roommate was fine so long as my roommate stayed/paid the remainder of the lease. I moved out. I have observed my roommates experience and they have often said "where is your roommate" and "he needed to sign" -- but while I was in town and able to do all of this, I was never asked to do any of this. When they knew my plans all along! They need to designate one account manager to a # of residents so that one line of communication can guide the relationships, otherwise they just have many different people all knowing nothing about the people who are paying them and no way to meet their commitments or expectations. read more

This company treats its customers more poorly than it treats its properties. After spending a year in a unit where I had 10 days without water, a week and a half with no air conditioning, and had technicians walk into my unit with less than 5-minutes notice: I gave a 60-days notice, asking if I could break lease. I was told that I could over the phone. So I sent follow up emails and texts to get it in writing, had even called to ask for it in writing, and was ignored for nearly the full two months. One week before moving out, I was called and asked for 2 walk throughs same-day. The company had it listed for the wrong # of bedrooms AND bathrooms and told me that I was culpable for the remainder of the lease - despite having already been let out of it. I decided to move out anyway and I was charged a $1,300 cleaning and maintenance fee (after my deposit was credited to cleaning) without a written report nor any photos. I was told "The stove was dirty, we had to clean the carpets, we painted the walls." After I called the employee on the patronizing tone, telling me "this is why you need to clean" and "moving costs money," I was told I was being childish and hung up on - by an adult. This review by Denise M. is the complete opposite of my experience with Locators. Personally, I have had nothing but the most satisfactory treatment by professionals both in the office and by being shown selection(s) by a licensed realtor. I sincerely wish that Denise M. would come to find as I have, and not slam a Really Great Company working under duress over the past 2 years with the pandemic and maskers and non-maskers raging. Worst company I have ever worked with. My daughter goes to school there and they had no clue what utilities were included. They told her it had an air conditioning and heat was included. When she arrived to move in neither was true. They told her then just don't sign the lease. It was too late to even consider looking for another place. We called and emailed at least four or five times to try to find out. Never heard back and never got a consistent answer. The studio she rented we are very happy with but not this company. read more

This is not a property management firm. It is a rip people off firm. I rented from them for over two years at 1284 University Avenue and they never fixed a single thing that went wrong with the property. Including appliances going out, the ceiling falling in on my daughter while she was sleeping, the bathroom ceiling falling apart. They brought all kinds of stuff to repair the house and left it on the porch, including 5 large sheets of drywall that never made it up. Our son got cancer while we were living there, probably from the radon that they don't test for. I am a non-commissioned officer in the military and a Federal Civilian employee. If you are military - steer clear. They mistreat military and Veterans. Upon move out, they kept our rental deposit, to include the whole $1250.00. They are liars and thieves, and I can only hope that at some point in the future I will get all of that money back out of them, and more. :-) Warning to you all: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!! read more

This management group is as hands off as possible. They do not respond to calls or emails in a timely manner, usually only after multiple attempts to contact them. I recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I leased an apartment managed by Locators and made the age old mistake of trusting them. During my two years there, I have been paying my rent on time and never called in for anything. When I submitted my intent to move, I even gave them a 60 day notice. They were showing the apartment with my personal stuff on day one of the 60 day notice and kept doing it constantly at all different hours of the day. On top of that they asked me to leave earlier and told me I would be getting a prorated rate for the rent. I left the place clean and all ready to move in. The only item was the screen door that came dislodged from the wind. Not only did I not get my deposit back, but I also lost most of the prorated rent claiming it was required to repair the place. Very disappointing to see that there are businesses in the midwest that are dishonest with people. I know many IBM folks are coming here, I hope no one uses the services. They tarnish the image of what Dubuque is and represents. read more
