The staff was always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served partly as a buffet, additionals like porridge could be ordered at no extra costs from the staff. WiFi was free but slow and available in the room as well as the lounge and the breakfast hall. There is a self-service bar from which you can get yourself some beer and whisky at a quite reasonable price. Hotel guests get a 10% discount on dinner in the Old Inn restaurant. I liked the GHL, the breakfast and the bar and would book there again next time I'm around.

Our recent stay at the "Flodigarry" hotel, currently up for sale and better described as FLOPIGARRY, was a profoundly disappointing experience that left us dissatisfied on multiple fronts. The overall state of the hotel and its facilities, combined with the presence of overworked friendly staff, painted a troubling picture. The hotel's cleanliness was surely lacking, with dust and dirt seemingly everywhere and smashed bugs lining the window sills, creating an unsettling atmosphere. No one is vacuuming this hotel! There is dirt everywhere! The room's bathroom was a disappointment, with unclean surfaces, a lack of proper maintenance, and even a brown toilet bowl, adding to our discomfort. Our room was nothing short of a repulsive smell of mold and must, emitting an overpowering odor. Desperate for relief, we resorted to opening the windows wide, a measure that seemed to alleviate the smell despite being against the rules. Not only was our room an unsightly mess, but the bathroom was equally unpleasant, marred by dirt in the corners and a floor that was peeling up. Shower facilities proved equally inadequate, with minimal pressure during the day and a chilly morning shower experience that was less than pleasant. However, it's worth noting that hot showers were available at night, providing a rare moment of relief. The breakfast, though accommodating for dietary needs, failed to impress. Oily greens, lackluster coffee, and dirty glasses and cups detracted from the dining experience. The rotting wood in the dining room only further underscored the neglect apparent throughout the premises. In the midst of these issues, the staff remained a positive highlight. While overworked and stretched thin, they were consistently kind and accommodating. It was sad to see them running around and trying so hard to do their job. It was evident that they were working at the hotel from morning until late at night, putting in extensive hours. Despite these disappointments, the one shining aspect of our stay was the breathtaking view of the lake from our room. The beauty of the surroundings only served as a stark contrast to the lackluster conditions within the hotel itself. In conclusion, our time at the "Flodigarry" hotel (or rather, FLOPIGARRY) was a far cry from the experience we had hoped for. It's like staying in a dirty and weirdly decorated haunted house. The website is a ruse; don't believe the pictures or what you read. It's all lies, except for the breathtaking view. Until substantial improvements are made, it's advisable for prospective visitors to explore alternative lodging options. The rooms were comfortable and clean. This is very much a small, family run business so expect to take your time.
