TOURIST TRAP! But its a fun one! And how can you not stop by if you're on a week driving tour of Scotland? Its not a typical museum where you silently go around looking at things and reading about them. Instead its about 7-8 interactive rooms going over history of Loch Ness Monster. Its a real hoot! I found the inner 7 year old in my 37 year old body. £7.45 adult £6.45 Concession...I told them I was college student. _____________§§§§§§§§§§§§§ __________§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§ ________§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§ ______§§§$§§§§§§_________§§§§§§§§§ ______§§$§$§§§§______________§§§§§§ _____§§$§§$§§§________________§§§§§§ ____§§$§§§§$§§§_______________§§§§§§§ ___§§$§§§§$§§§§_______________§§§§§§§ ___§§O§§$O§§§_______________§§§§§§§§ ___ا§§$§§§Ø§_______________§§§§§§§§ ___§§§$§$§§§_______________§§§§§§§§§ ___ §§§§§§§_______________§§§§§§§§§ ___§§§§§§§_______________§§§§§§§§§ ____§§§§_______________§§§§§§§§§§ ____________________§§§§§§§§§§§ __________________§§§§§§§§§§§ ________________§§§§§§§§§§§ ______________§§§§§§§§§§§ _____________§§§§§§§§§§§ ___________§§§§§§§§§§§ _________§§§§§§§§§§§ _______§§§§§§§§§§§ _____§§§§§§§§§§§ ___§§§§§§§§§§§ __§§§§§§§§§§§ NESSIE!!!!!

As close as you can get to the waters edge...this is the view of Urquhart Castle Ruins.

This was not as exciting as we thought it would be. We expected for fun and silly "facts" about Nessie. It was a slow and rather cheap looking "museum" about nothing. It was not worth the ticket price. I don't recommend spending the money but just book a Loch tour. We were told by a taxi driver in Inverness to stick to the north side of the Loch because it's much more to see and you can walk right up to the water to explore.

The Loch Ness Experience is brilliant The tour informs you of how the highland and especially the loch were formed, then they show you all the different inhabitants in and around the loch and how the loch was used in days of old, not forgetting the myth of the loch ness monster. As you walk through the tour each section as its own audia and visual effects making for an interesting and informative tour, well worth going to see. There is two very large gift shops selling everything from cuddly nessie's to crystal decanters and the staff are always friendly and helpful

This museum is ok but very small and most of the things that you hear / see you can view online or see on documentaries on TV. I feel that to make this museum better perhaps they should invest in having some mechanical / moving props to educate people about the viewing of loch ness monster. More seating needed in museum as well. Also please bear in mind this museum is not near the lakes. However still was very interesting in what I did learn. Great souvenir shop lots of different merchandise to buy from Loch Ness Monster bath toy to jackets.

What I really loved about the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre was that at the same time they were debunking the Loch Ness monster myth they were making you want to believe in it trippy. It's actually a quite in depth exhibition center with tons of good information on the local environment. Maybe one day it will be acknowledged that the true value of myths like nessie is that they make us humans take stock in the beauty of our environment and world.

I've loved all loch ness stories as a child, so I had to visit the centre while i was there. A very informative tour and film. I loved the shops on site, a huge nessie in one of the stores and a whisky shop

    Looks nice but poor service

I came into this exhibit a bit skeptical, expecting it to be a tourist trap, trying to sell the myth of Nessie.

There you can find a cute little shop called Haggard Alley for all things Harry Potter. Not only do you go over the famous viaduct but you'll also pass the island where scenes were filmed and Dumbledore's grave. A very relaxing day trip.

Worth it. Totally worth it. Especially true if you're a Harry Potter fan as I am, but even if not,…read morethe scenery alone is majestic. There's plenty of info out there on how to book, routes, etc, so I won't go into that here. Tips I'll share: 1) book early - don't even think about trying to arrange this the night before. 2) don't do first class - while it's more comfy and usually our type of travel, we booked on one of the cars toward the back. That way you can see and video/snap pics of the front of the train as it goes over the viaduct. Makes you think lightening struck your forehead. 3) sit on the left side - if you're in the car facing to the front of the train, make sure your seat is on the left side. A much better view of the train going over the viaduct. 4) drink a beer or wine - even if it's 9:30 in the morning, which it was for us, have a brewskie...you're on vacation. 5) eat fast in Mallaig - don't spend a lot of time choosing restaurants. Pick a place the night before. When you arrive at Mallaig, run your happy bum to the restaurant you chose, order (and don't even try to get starters first then mains) and eat. You can take pics afterwards. Restaurants there are small, get slammed with each Twain's arrival, plus the local tourists who come by car. Hope this helps!

I like cryptids and one of the most famous ones is the Loch Ness Monster. You won't be able to see…read morethe Monster but you are guaranteed to see a long 23 mile lake, black water, and a cute town with Loch Ness Monster souvenirs and theming. We were here 10 years ago and enjoyed it enough to come back. If you go on a cruise the windows of the cruise ship have a tiny Loch Ness Monster sticker so every picture you take will have the cryptid! Unfortunately, they were sold out this time and we were not able to get onto the ships. Caledonian Canal: Connects this Loch with others. We got really lucky this trip and were able to see the Canal in action, with waters lowering and doorways opening for 2 boats going to Loch Ness. This is located in the town area of Loch Ness. Loch Ness: From the canals walk straight down on the left side. There are no public bathroom at the end but there is a sign you can take pictures at that says "Loch Ness". If you are not on a boat ride the walk is short and the area at the end is small but its worth it to take a picture at the sign and get a close up view of the lake. The spring is gorgeous with vibrant yellow Gorse flowers blooming, it brightens up the gloom a bit and gives the landscape some special of color.

It's a perfect spot for taking photos and enjoying the natural beauty. The atmosphere is peaceful And yes, we did not see Nessie (that famous Loch Ness monster), of course i did not even expect it ;)
