We had high hopes for this camp site after looking at their website but it wasn't quite what we expected when we got there. The site is in the middle of nowhere, there's nowhere to get food or drink for around 7 miles (minimum). There is a bar on site but it never opened and this was at the end of May so it wasn't exactly out of season. This means, if you want a drink and you haven't brought anything with you, you'll need to drivewhich then means you can't drink (alcohol anyway)! We stayed in the hobbits as we wanted to try something new. I recommend trying them at one point but probably at a different site. It's basically a luxury wooden tent. The main problem with the hobbits is that there is a window at the back and a double door at the front with big glass panels and nothing to cover them with. Yes, every passer by can see straight into your hobbit.
If you decide to visit and stay at this holiday park be well prepared!! Take your own food and drink and something to do on a night! If you decide to stay in a hobbit, take something to cover the windows with.
The good points: The site was tidy, they have a small play park for kids and the view over the lake is fantastic. That's about all there is though so once the novelty of the view has worn off it's a pretty lame site in my book. I wouldn't recommend to friends and family. read more
