A huge store that has it's own climbing wall, cafe and bike shop. Stocks many of Tiso's rarer items, like expedition weight tents and inflatable kayaks. But very expensive to order in anything that they don't have on site. The two tills are not optimally placed being as they are tucked in around the main stairs. While the displays are well presented and neatly organised their layout divides the shop too much. Zoning of products is important, but here it reduces flow around the store. Bike shop is geared towards complete bikes and cycle clothing rather than spares, maintenance and upgrades. Has a well equipped and staffed workshop but lacks it's own till. Staff in both bike shop and main store are friendly and knowledgable, if sometimes a bit thin on the ground at times. Cafe is clean and nice with sandwiches made on site. Good bookshop with comfortable seating. Not a bad shop by any means but with such potential it feels like a few minor adjustments would make it superb. read more

I can't say enough great things about this place. Super helpful and friendly staff who rented us a kayak and inflatable roof rack last minute. Then helped us carry it out and gave instructions on how to attach rack and kayak. I also needed a wetsuit and booties and got the wetsuit for a good price. Had to buy pricey booties as the only ones in my size but they are great quality. Even the cafe inside Tiso has quality food and drink. When we returned the kayak a day late as my friend Patti Bauernfeind's Loch Ness swim ended later than expected, they told us not to worry about paying any additional cost. This is the most fantastic shop! It sells everything you need for life outdoors. There is a small climbing wall in the shop and a little river with stone walkway. The climbing wall is supervised at the weekends and allows kids an opportunity to try it out. Upstairs is deli on the corner cafe (linked to the one in Beauly) which sells deli type lunches. The food is freshly made and the paninis are fantastic. It gets really busy at peak times and sometimes can be hard to find a seat. There is a range of seating from tables, bar stools to comfy sofas. There's also a toy box for kids. The only disadvantage is that the stairs are quite steep and the toilet is downstairs. read more

Tiso is located in the Longman area of Inverness. It is a relatively new store in the area and provides everything you could need for outdoor activities under one roof. They sell gear for camping, hiking, canoeing, running, walking and various other activities. It is not the cheapest shop around but you have the convienience of having everything under one roof and you can rely on the quality. The staff are knowledgable but are sometimes thin on the ground. I have waited to be served for a while on a few occasions in this store. However they did mention to another customer that they were having a problem because of staff shortages so perhaps this has been resolved now. They also have a coffee shop on site which is quite nice. They have a good range of outdoor clothing. read more
