A couple of months ago I managed to lock myself out of my house on a Sunday, only to learn that there are not many locksmiths who operate on Sundays. After several phone calls, I was able to speak with Lock Pixies. Unfortunately, the person who answered my call indicated that she had another pre-arranged appointment which required her attention. I thanked her for her time and continued my calls. After several more phone calls, I was able to find a different locksmith that operated on Sundays. However, I need to say that I was impressed by the level of concern shown by Lock Pixies. She called back a few minutes later and provided a timeframe for when she expected to complete her other job, explained when she might be available to help me, and expressed a genuine concern for my situation. I explained that I'd found another locksmith who was already enroute and she (being aware that I was a distraught female, in a vulnerable position) asked for the name of the locksmith I found, in order to give a recommendation / validation. I told her the name of the business who was coming to my assistance and she vouched for the other business, which she didn't have to do but which immediately set my mind at ease. The long and short of this review is: I have never been a paying customer of Lock Pixies. But their customer service & genuine concern for a person in need is second to none. So my girlfriend and I were painting her newly purchased home on Lincoln and Elsworth when we stepped outside for a smoke..., "ACK" she screamed, as she closed the door and locked us out in the 11 degree night.... ! Call here first. After getting locked out of my house in my bunny slippers when taking out the recycling, I tried about 20 places from my poor neighbors phone before I actually connected with someone who knew what the heck was going on. I am quite certain I was, in part, reaching call centers in locations for which I'd need a Lonely Planet to visit, and no one knew when a locksmith could come, how much it would cost, or even how far the locksmith was from my residence. No one seemed to know anything, really, until I reached Christine. She was the first person who picked up the phone who was an actual locksmith. She came over within 15 minutes and solved my problem. Plus, she's damn cool. I'm telling you, there's definitely material for a cable television series here. Cute, fun girl with a locksmith belt and an Astro van, totally capable of getting dolts like me back into their houses so they can finish their morning coffee and get back to work. She came quickly to help us rekey our locks and was honest with us that the locks we have are great quality ones that she can't rekey but that someone else could (and she offered their contact info). After locking myself out of my house on a Saturday afternoon, I looked up locksmiths on my phone, and chose Lock Pixies at random. So glad I did. Christine (the owner) picked up after the first ring, and I explained my situation. She happened to be in the neighborhood, and on her way to a personal appointment, but said she'd swing by, no problem. I asked about pricing, and let her know I'd seen a discount on Yelp. She honored the deal, again, no problem (yay for scoring half price on an unplanned expense!). Christine showed up before we even hung up the phone. I want to update this review as so much has happened since this woman changed my locks. I recently found that there was an investigation going on over apparent sex traffickers and my daughter was a victim as they have found cameras all over her room. You will notice that I have a lot of one star reviews because these people had my devices hacked and when I would call a service provider they would send their own. Investigators told me that this is a tactic these traffickers do to break a single mom down to depression so she won't pay attention to what is going on around her daughter. I thought it was strange that this woman would not take off her sunglasses or mask and when used my bathroom I saw her go through my personal belongings. I then got on camera someone entering my home with a key after this woman changed my locks. This has been the worst experience of my life and I am shocked that a woman works for people who traffic children. read more
