When I say I was beyond disappointed in this place... The prices are all exactly the same as Walmart with a selection to match. That should be enough to make anyone save themselves the trip. They have some collections, like Dolly Pardon and Yellowstone, that I've never seen in a store, but it was all overpriced since it's branded. As for the customer service, it's a bit mixed. The older staff was very helpful while some of the younger staff was very oblivious, even when you tried to flag someone down for help it was like they'd pretend to not see you. read more

This store offers a great selection of cast iron cookware at a great price! It's an outlet store since the cast irons have some cosmetic blemishes that are hardly noticeable. I wanted to buy everything here but ended up only getting a bread cast iron pan to bake bread. There's a museum attached to the store and a breakfast/lunch restaurant as well. Talk about being treated like royalty while walking around the store with "my service dog" everyone made a point to comment on how awesome he was. Thank you! Spent a solid hour walking the store viewing all the fun cast iron skillets. Wound up getting several items and this evening I will be using the mini skillet for my steak. After having a rough day and passing this store twice, we decided to stop in for a little retail therapy. The employees were great with our daughter, who ended up being given a large Lodge sticker (of a Lodge cast iron pan with an egg). It was a great store! I had fun just looking around. I ended up only buying one smaller cast iron pan, which I plan on using for super large chocolate chip cookies. It was from the banged up pan area, but I didn't even notice any issues - a great value for the pan. Driving by on I-24 we saw the signs for the museum which cost $10 to enter. But the store is free. I bought a corn cob pan, 20% off normal retail. they have a Big Bad Breakfast restaurant too. Coffee in the restaurant is quite good, food has the full south mouth going. Server gave us free coffee to go after having two cups of coffee at the table, all fueled up for the road trip. read more

The product was unused and in its original packaging, and I requested a simple **exchange** -- not a refund or a free replacement--but customer service declined. I also asked for the matter to be escalated to a manager, which was refused, so I'm sharing this to help others understand the level of support to expect outside a retailer's return period. We saw billboards advertising this place on the freeway so we had to check it out on our way back to Chattanooga. Wow, there are some great deals to be had here! Especially in their factory seconds sections where items are sold at an extreme discount because items have slight blemishes that appeared to be small scratches or dings. Very minor and hardly noticeable! But even their full priced items are cheaper than what you'd pay at Target or any other authorized Lodge dealer! We really couldn't buy much because we were flying home and cast iron is way too heavy to carry! If we lived nearby, we definitely would've bought everything!! read more

After about 30 years of driving between Murfreesboro and Chattanooga, and ignoring the billboards, I finally gave in. My friend and I were driving from Georgia and made a last minute stop. I'm glad we did. It was nice. The museum is part of the factory store and I was disappointed that the Yelp! site did not include the museum. I don't have the motivation to fix that, but will just mention it here so you know you should go. Looking into the museum entrance, I saw a wall of cast iron items on display. I thought that was the museum and hesitated on paying $10 to see it. A worker encouraged me saying there was a lot to see way behind the wall. Oh! I went in. You need to know that I am spoiled when it comes to manufacturing. That is why I was not thrilled over the exhibit to show quality control and the manufacturing method. I've been an adjunct professor of both casting and quality control. To the uninitiated, however, I did notice many people taking their time to absorb the information. Another gallery documented the family and business history and that was much more interesting for me. And, of course, I HAD to have my photo taken next to the world's biggest cast iron pan. Now, that short video on how that made that monster was interesting. The tribute castings and special order castings display was interesting. Also, the other cast iron products besides cooking vessels was eye opening. Some of the displays did not attract my attention because they were displaying items I already had at home. Overall, it was a nice stop over. I don't see any reason to return, but I can cross this one off my "list". read more

We stopped here as a last minute detour during our road trip after seeing a flyer in our hotel lobby. We are so glad we did. Even our mostly grown kids enjoyed the interactive museum and learned a lot about the history behind Lodge. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable, especially Chris E. who was helpful and informative and gave us great tips for using and caring for our cast iron products. The prices were very reasonable too. Our vehicle was quite a few pounds heavier when we left! We're sorry we didn't get to eat at the restaurant, but it smells heavenly. I recently ordered an enamel stock pot which was too small so I returned it per Lodges requirements. Had to email them twice to get an answer which was "When we get the item you will get a refund." They had the item over a week and no notification of anything to me. I contacted BBB and within 30 minutes I received an email that my money was refunded however they deducted $8.99 from the total amount I paid with no explanation as to why. Not to mention I had to pay the shipping to send it back to them. I like the Lodge cast iron but do not recommend ordering from them. read more

The 120+ year old famous Lodge Cast Iron Cookware is made in the USA. In this small, rural Tennessee town, you can visit the factory at which they're made. They have a large factory store with any Lodge product you could ever imagine on one side. The other side contains shelves and shelves of discounted factory seconds. The staff was friendly and helpful. The museum was still under renovation, but we'll have to go back to see the world largest cast iron skillet! Factory tour are also only available during the duration of the Annual National Cornbread Festival in April. As much as I would love to visit this factory store, this review is about the exceptional customer service I received when my cast iron skillet of 12 years suddenly ended up with a broken handle. Last week my cast iron broke. It was sad. I have fond memories of my mother cooking homemade sausage gravy is her cast iron and upon coming of age I set out to buy my own skillet. I seasoned it with love (and lots of oil). No detergent ever touched it's surface. Then it broke. I wanted to know why. I found lodge customer service and sent them an email. The responded promptly (within 12 hours) looked at pictures, and put a new skillet in the mail. I read the warranty and they didn't have to do that. Lodge for Life! read more

The store itself is very nicely organized; they have all of the latest products and gadgets. The customer service was excellent; the entire staff was friendly and insightful. The real find here though their section with Factory Seconds. You can save a ton of money by purchasing the same great products at a nice discount only because there is slight cosmetic blemish which I believe only the staff can see because I couldn't notice the difference. read more

I absolutely love the Lodge Store! The new building showcases everything perfectly. Instead of the blemished goods being in the back room with the markdowns, there is an aisle for the blemished goods. I don't mind a few imperfections on my cast iron, so I always buy what I can with the blemished goods. The blemished goods are always better priced for a few small indentions. When we recently visited, we bought a blemished cast iron dutch oven. Let me tell you, that dutch oven makes the best pot of chili. It is like it has been slow cooking all day. We also grabbed a bag of the Palmetto Farms Skillet Cornbread mix. That Cornbread mix is amazing in a cast iron! We actually got a friend to stop on their way back from Gaitlinburg to bring us a few more bags of it. The employees were amazing as well, super nice and very helpful with any questions we had. Oh I love the store. I was in Nashville visiting my mother and decided to drive down. Here in Detroit do you only get about two options for cast iron. In the store they had every cast iron mate. After several times passing this place and the better half saying we would stop in, we finally did. A bit off the beaten path (With fairly poor directions on how to get there if you just follow the directions on the billboard) the draw here is easily the scratch and dent. With blemishes that really won't have any effect on your cooking you save roughly 40% the cost of a non blemished equivalent. (The blemish is generally marked or circled in white chalk) I am no expert on these things (that I leave to the better half) but I was a tad disappointed in the selection. I suppose for an Outlet store I was expecting some magical oasis of cooking supplies, so admittedly that may be my bad. If you like this sort of thing and are passing it though, I would say you owe it to yourself to stop in! read more

7/9 I found a coupon at the Tennessee Welcome Center for a 10" cast iron pan for $4.99. We've been talking about switching to cast iron for a while so I thought now would be a good time. :) The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. My husband decided that 10" was too small and went with a 13.25" for $35!! Ouch! I honestly don't know what the prices should be but this was seven times more than I hoped to spend on a pan that doesn't come with a lid (lids sold separately, for another $34.95 each...). :) The store is nice and well-laid out. They have spices and rubs along with cookware and camping gear. I was able to find a wedding gift for someone. It's well worth the stop. Just follow the many billboards and if a 10" pan suits your needs, be sure to look for a coupon anywhere where you can find travel brochures! read more

This place is fantastic! I own a 12" enameled skillet from Lodge, as well as a 5.5 qt enameled Dutch oven from a competitor. I'm a fan of both, and since I was traveling from Chattanooga to Memphis, I knew I had to stop here and check things out. There is a large amount of second-quality Lodge products in the back of the store at about 50% off retail price. The steep discount is due to cosmetic flaws, not performance. I only bought a 10" lid, as I already had the same products at home. The rest of my order was first quality. I purchased a 10" skillet with dual handles, a 6" skillet engraved with the state of Tennessee on the back, a matching 6" lid, one 3" mini skillet, a loaf pan, two serving pans and a few silicone pot holders. I was very happy with my purchases. The staff on site is super helpful and very friendly. They're knowledgeable and we're able to answer my questions. If you're in the area and you love cast iron products, please stop by. You won't regret it. read more

Growing up in the South, my Granny always cooked in cast iron and nothing else. One day, those pans will be mine, but in the mean time I have been working on break in my own to be half as good as hers are - but why not shop for more? We detoured and figured we would get some cast iron at a discount (Factory Store seems like you would, right)? Unfortunately, no. Most everything was exactly the same price as I could get at home or on Amazon. I was sorely disappointed and left empty-handed. There was so much to choose from (and probably some items I would only find here), but I couldn't bring myself to buy anything. This seems like more of a tourist attraction than anything.
