Absolutamente the worst rental agency I have ever worked with or rented from. They never fixed any issues, and the issues were major (electricity didn't work in winter so we froze our butts off, major and active water leaks left to continue to leak all over apartment, etc). Lodgis is one of the worst service providers I have ever experienced, and I strongly recommend avoiding it. At first, I was pleased with them, because they've found me an apartment to rent in Paris. But problems started to occur immediately. Upon entering the apartment, it turned out they hadn't fixed any of the faults pointed out to them in advance. They did it only after I sent a second request. During my 2+ years of stay in the apartment, my customer representative changed at least 5 times. In none of those instances did I receive an update regarding it. I've always found it out when trying to contact my representative and then receiving a reply that she is no longer my representative and that there's a new one (the last one - Romane Vasseur - couldn't even talk English on the phone, only write it in Email. But she was actually the most efficient of them all). Besides Romane, all of the representatives were hard to reach. In case of need, they would not reply to an Email until at least the third or fourth inquiry. One of them, Carole Charuel, ignored five messages, but when I CC'd her manager, Alexis Alban, on the sixth, she replied within a few minutes. When they were finally up to handle a problem, it would take them a long time, even if it was urgent. And they would do it in a clumsy, inefficient way. For example, when the apartment's microwave stopped working, they bought a new one, though I suggested they send an electrician first to check the socket. It turned out the original microwave was just fine - the socket was faulty. They just wasted time and money on a new Microwave. There was also a time when a worn-out or broken part of the toilet water container had to be replaced, and they claimed it's my responsibility to do so, not theirs. One client representative (Pascale Idee, who definitely was the worst one) was late for a video call we scheduled. She then also cut it short, despite me saying I still had issues to discuss, and left with "If there's anything else - E-mail my manager (Alexis Alban)". I did, but of course, didn't receive any reply. She also gave me the wrong details of the apartment's Internet account, so when it went down and I called customer support, they couldn't recognize the account based on the details I provided, which left me offline for a long time - a major problem, as I use the Internet for my work. And finally, not surprisingly, after I left the apartment, they took money from my deposit to compensate for made-up lacks, like an electronic cattle that was never there (there was an out-of-order one that I haven't touched). Lodgis's service repeatedly baffled me with its lack of professionalism, decent service, and treatment of paying clients. So, I strongly suggest NOT using Lodgis' service, which is amateurish, unprofessional, unattentive, unreliable, and impolite. Beware. read more

Third time renting with Lodgis and it will be the last! First my check in which I have to pay for was unprofessional the lady couldn't even answer basic questions I had about the place. Then the place was not cleaned at all! Next there is black mold seeping in through the bedroom walls, green mold in the bathroom. The entire shower is filled with black mold. The furniture is broken, as is the blinds. I opened the blinds once and it ripped right off. I am afraid to open the other one because I had to pay for so many things in my frist place that were already broken. So I cannot even open the blinds. The current rod at the top is not on and the broken pieces are left in the bedroom the day I moved in! I cannot even make myself a cup of coffee because the coffee machine has visible mold on the opening where the coffee comes out! I cannot even make myself a cup of coffee in the morning! After a few days the shower current fell off only to reveal that the end is broken and just put up. The owner couldn't even buy a new shower rod for 10 euros to put up!!! Once a week the shower drain clogs up and lucky for me the owner left a almost black because it is completely molded plunger to use! Even the cleaning equipment is broken. The dust pan is cracked and useless, the vacuum doesn't work, the mop is so rusted it leaves rust on your hand! I had to scrub the only chair because you sat on it and it was just filthy!! I contacted the agency 4 days after I moved in hopeful and ready to work with them to get moved into a new place. Why else would I pay these agency fees for!!! And oh la la, the games you have to play!!! It went back and forth for weeks about the proper way to send the photos as proof. Then when I achieved that I was told the quality wasn't good and oh well the owner I guess needs to clean a bit. I said no this entire place isn't able to live in I need to be moved. I thought they would do something as they seemed understanding. Noooooo more games. I was told oh good news once a new place is found the owner has agreed to let me leave after 15 days. What!!!! I need to be moved ASAP!!! Then I was sent four apartments only one of which met my requirements. I said I would like to see that one. I didn't hear from anyone for a week and was then told no the owner won't rent to me. You are the one who sent me the listing!! Then I heard nothing. I finally spent three hours going through the listings myself and sent three to the agent. I didn't hear back for days. Then I was told no only 3 places can be seen per client. What!!!! I only sent 3 and also this doesn't make sense when I have been requesting to be moved because of the conditions of the place! Then I didn't heard back again for days only to be told that 2 of the places were now gone in a very passive agressive way because the other clients didn't request to see the place. Seeing as how I have now been placed in 2 apartments that are not fit to live in - black mold!!!! I need to see the places because this agency does not do it's job! This has now been eight weeks. The blinds have broken. The refrigerator would randomly turn off and I had my food spoiled a few times. I get an influx of gnats and ants at least a few times a week. The toilet seat is bent sideways and will brake very soon. Even the electric outlets fall out of the wall in this apartment! This is not the first extremely bad experience with this agency. But I thought okay sometimes things happen. Nope they do not care and you just have to pay fees for absolutely nothing other then the fact they take advantage of foreigners until they learn better and know where to rent from. This is despicable and puts a really bad name on your country. Now I know better and mold is a human health hazard I didn't know what to do the first time but now I do and after eight weeks of your agency doing nothing I will now be reporting you to the city of paris and I still expect you to do something and return my money. I have been patient and I have tried to plays all the games you've wanted me to play. It ends now! A few years ago this agency has one star on all review sights. I work in tech and know how they can get this changed to reflect better. So not believe all the good reviews this place is trash!! I have photos and video and communications to prove this. They have never answered the phone after I called a dozen times over 10 days, during various times of the day. the problem with this is that emailing is so inefficient when one is trying to get a apartment quickly (within 10 days). there is alot of renter demand for apartments through this site but 20 hours were wasted because they are very disorganized, dont respond to emails reliably, and this was the experience with 3 different salespersons. Check-in was okay but they left me dirty garbage in the room as well as some utilities that were damaged or did not function at all. That got mostly fixed during my stay. Unfortunately, after my stay, they kept a lot of my deposit for apparently "repairs" of damages that happened before my stay. They even took pictures of the damages before I moved in but I guess I will never see my money back. I called them and nobody answered several times! SCAM AGENCY! Upon arrival, the unit was extremely dirty: a stained mattress with insects and sand inside, hair/dust/toenails/dirt/garbage/leftover receipts/food scraps left in the fridge and on every surface, dead bugs and dust in the dishes, a vacuum cleaner clogged with someone else's socks, and every surface that I touched was sticky including the window handles and countertops. Meanwhile no electricity contract had been set up and it took me 3 weeks of trial and error to find this out. When I contacted the agency, they simply told me it was up to the landlord to refund my cleaning deposit of 200 euros early in addition to my electricity deposit of 70 euros seeing as the contract had not been set up and the power was constantly going out. I was told by the landlord to re-start the fuse box during my second day living in the unit, and upon my second complaint weeks later he finally signed the apartment up with hydro and then blamed it on me for not complaining sooner (which I did because the fridge was turned off and leaking due to the lack of power on the second day living there). Luckily the landlord did the right thing in purchasing a new mattress, but then said he would have to discuss the issue of the deposits with Lodgis. This game of back-and-forth and no one apologizing, empathizing, or taking accountability is absolutely disgusting. To enter into a unit that is so completely filthy and then blame me for having "high standards" is so unacceptable and I would never recommend this agency to anyone. Having spent my first 2-3 days in Paris scrubbing every inch of the apartment and having the power shut off every time I try to cook, this should warrant an immediate refund of all deposits, yet no one helped me. The purpose of a cleaning deposit is to ensure the unit will always be clean for the next tenant, which it certainly was not. Lodgis will always take the side of the landlord who can seemingly get away with anything they desire, and they do absolutely nothing to protect you as a tenant. I am still unsure if I will receive my deposits back at the end of my stay and I will change this review if anything changes, but so far Lodgis as an agency has done nothing to assist me and has never apologized for the condition of the unit upon move-in. I registered for a studio for 3 months from April first to the end of June 2022. An agent Ilona reply me after a week and asked the reason of my visit in Paris. I answered and after few days I received an email with no reply option from her telling:'we no longer have apartments available for rentals of less than 3 months which would start between September and December 2019'. Do your research and read the independant reviews on Lodgis, not the ones on their own website. They are quick to get you signed up but disappear once you have moved in and do not respond. We withheld the cleaning fee due in our final months rent as the flat was dirty when we moved in and still had the previous tenants things in it. Other tenants seem to have had trouble getting deposits back at the end of tenancy. Don't expect them to be available if anything goes wrong with your apartment or needs fixing. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. I rented an apartment in Paris it was the worst experience of my life. To start off, their agency fee has no reason being this high when they do nothing for you except the check in and out. When I rented the apartment the microwave and oven were broken and they told me to figure the microwave out myself. They called someone to fix the oven, and over my rental period (9 months) it was never fixed. At the end of my rental period, it was time for the check out. I saw to that the standard of the apartment was the same if not better than how we recieved it. The lady was very nice and ensured me that everything was in check. She said that there was a mark on the mirror ( which I offered to clean right then and there) and she told me that it was not needed, she translated the documents for me and I signed based on the information she told me. I would come later to see that she told us to just leave everything because she wanted to charge us for the total apartment cleaning fee. They also had charged me for the microwave and oven that they ensured I would not be charged for ( and I had email proof from their agents saying I would not be). They also claimed that the cleaning fee was for the dust in the apartment that had collected 2 MONTHS AFTER I LEFT. They also were supposed to give me 98 euros back because I paid a surplus in electricity, but "concidentally" the cleaning fee was 98 euros. She could not give me any detailed explanation as to why it was the same price and simply just said I had to pay. She was also very slow to email be back and I would have to send her multiple emails at a time for her to even reply to me. She said " I have other clients" as her rebutal. My review had absolutely NOTHING to do with the price of Paris apartments and everything to do with the trustworthiness and ethics of how they were evaluating me as a tenant. Robin reached out to me again yesterday after I wrote to him last week and told him my concerns and then suddenly asked what kind of pets I have, which he had never even asked in the first place. I wish I read the poor reviews on Google and other places more carefully. Make sure you read them. Not the ones on their website. They're consistent. they help take your money and find a place. If anything goes wrong with a slum lord they leave you high and dry. Stay away from Lodgis for short-term rentals. We rented a place for our daughter who spent a couple of months studying in France. Because it was short term they wouldn't let her see the place before renting. The place wasn't in great shape with cracks and a filthy kitchen sink and bath. Nearly three months after she left the apartment, the landlord is not returning the deposit saying he had to do "maintenance," and trying the withhold over 900 euros. the contract says that the only extra fee is electricity. he isn't providing the bill. The entry and exit photos show that there was no damage done by my daughter. All cracks and paint chipped were there before she entered. They work with a slum lord and they now say that resolving the issue is between tenant and landlord. They take no responsibility. The only thing they did is wrote him to say he should answer us, to confirm that to pay for the electricity he needs to show us a bill and to refer us to a lawyer which will cost us more. So you're better off working with AIRBNB for short-term rentals as you don't need to pay a deposit and deal with scammers. And working with them would not help you. Do yourself a favor and work with another company and ask how they would help you in case of a scamming landlord. read more

If I could sum up my recent experience with Lodgis in one word? AVOID I was trying to find an apartment with Lodgis for nearly two months from the end of August to mid October with no success. I was in the fortunate position that I was staying with Parisian friends while searching for a short term apartment to rent. Initially I was promised an apartment in Chatelet available two weeks from the time of my application. Days before I was supposed to move in, I was suddenly told there would be a refurbishment which would take an additional two weeks. Having had this last minute delay, I began to call or email for updates but on average, it would take four days for a vague response. Again, days before I was due to move in, after being reassured it was going forward, I was simply told the apartment was no longer available. So that was nearly four weeks of my life wasted by waiting. After that I applied for 6-7 other apartments. I was told my application would go through for one in Stalingrad. But given my previous dealings, I started emailing and phoning regularly. Then as per usual, had to wait for three or four days for an update. Some apartments I applied for appeared to be available on their website, only to be told they were not. For some of the other apartments I applied to, they didn't respond whatsoever. After my application had been pending for nearly two weeks, I called the office again only to be told that someone else got the apartment on a long term lease. I only found out because I phoned the office. The agent I was dealing with couldn't be bothered with a follow up conversation to let me know. It was also at this time I found out there had been six other applicants for the same apartment. There were times during my overall search that I would phone the office. The receptionist was very rude and sometimes she wouldn't even pass a message on. The information on their website about availability IS NOT ACCURATE. Apartments are often still showing as available on their website long after a tenancy has been agreed. In many cases, there are several applicants vying for the same apartment. They will not tell you this. There was also no indication if apartments are for short lease or long lease. I would only find this out once I applied. From what I understand, they are not the sole agent for many (if not all) of the apartments listed on their website. In many cases, the landlords will have their properties listed on other websites, but there is no mention of this on Lodgis' website that I have seen. I give them credit for having a very polished and professional looking website. They are highly ranked on Google with various combinations of keyword searches. The reviews on their website are, for the majority, positive. But having dealt with this company unsuccessfully for nearly two months, I find this extremely hard to believe. I wish I would have read independent reviews long before I dealt with them. They tout themselves as a lettings agency when in reality they act more like a broker for landlords' properties similar to Airbnb. They will take your application, pass it on to the landlord for approval then deal with the contractual aspects for a fee. After that, you deal strictly with the landlord (including the event of any issues and return of the rental security deposit). If your landlord only speaks French, they will not act as an mediator once the contract is signed. To the best of my knowledge, this doesn't appear anywhere on their website. In summary, it was extremely frustrating and a complete waste of time. Upon reflection, I am glad I didn't find an apartment through Lodgis. From reading other independent reviews on this site and others, it seems there are a lot of other things they don't disclose during the application process. My advice? AVOID!! read more

I rented an apartment through Lodgis in Paris during June and July 2022. Everything was perfect at the stage of signing the contract. I came to Paris and moved in at an apartment. At the end of the lease, the landlord evicted me two days early despite the terms of the contract and also did not return me the deposit, the adjustment of electricity bills, and compensation for the last two days. I contacted Lodgis, explained the situation, and attached our correspondence proving the violation of the contract by the landlord. Lodgis promised to help and return my money. I am very disappointed with the service provided by Lodgis. I rented a furnished apartment on Rochauart Blvd in Montmartre in March 2019. The agent required a €1500 Euro deposit. At the end of the lease, the owner came and saw that we had left the apartment in impeccable condition, even washing and folding the towels. We have a video of the apartment. Despite our compliance with all the terms of the lease, the owner only returned €300/ of the €1500 deposit after 5 weeks. Lodgis as the agent has refused to help us get our deposit back. In addition, despite lodgknowledge of the landlord's breach of the lease, Lodgis continue to list her apartment on their website. You may think you are saving money renting through Lodgis, but you would be better served with the professionalism of AirBnB or Homeaway. Lodgis ignores the crux of the matter in their reply: even knowing that this landlord is a problem, Lodgis continues to list this property on their site despite their knowledge of the landlord's breach of the lease. They are in effect representing that this landlord is reputable when they have evidence that he is disreputabl I find Lodgis' update incredulous. The landlord retained €1300 euros. Lodgis explained that the landlord retained the deposit to pay for utilities. This is patently a lie. 1) the lease term was one month --March. How could the utilities equal over €1300 ($1465) for one month? 2) landlord never responded to requests for why deposit not returned. This is the first mention of any reason and it is laughable. $1465 for one month's electricity in the spring?? 3) landlord never presented a bill. It is clearly a lie, and Lodgis again is failing to act in good faith by continuing to list a rental on their website with the knowledge that the landlord is in breech of the lease. Please consider this a warning to anyone who is considering to rent from Lodgis. Would seem to me that if the owner had a legitimate bill for electricity, the owner would present the tenant with a copy of the bill. No bill was ever presented. Lodgis claim that the failure to return all of the security was justified is clearly unsupported by facts. I would caution any tenant from renting from an agency that continues to rent properties which they have complaints about. read more

The level of service from your agent Clothilde Iguenane was simply unacceptable. The agent was extremely persuasive and rude. We got contract with details and payments, that weren't told to us earlier, and even though we liked the flat, we couldn't rent it, because the contract had many details, that were not disclosed to us before the visit, like additional payments (on top of agency fee and deposit/rent), no stated responsibilities from landlord side, no guaranty that we will get our deposit back stated in the contract either, so basically, no protection to us as tenants (even though we asked for draft version of contract, to save everyone's time, she didn't send draft). When we got the contract, we suggested alterations, we were told it's impossible to do them and then I got personal call from the agent, that started directly shouting on me that we waste her time and that we simply found other options and ditched this agency (which wasn't the case). The fact, that your agent, despite our decisions, had the audacity to call me personally and shout, and degrade me, is simply unacceptable. After I hung the unbearable call, she even emailed us with degrading me again and making fun of me hanging the phone. I hope you, as an agency, will do your best to prevent such experience for your potential clients in the future. read more

I have worked with Lodgis many times over the years and I am currently working with an associate for a new rental. While my French is not great and that can cause some interesting miscommunications, my agent is very organized and helpful. As is the case anytime you rent a privately owned apartment there are going to be minor misconceptions between what an American thinks and what is common for a French person. On the few occasions that we have asked Lodgis to intervene (you can count them on one hand) the team has been quick to respond and happy to help. I am hoping that this new apartment we are working on renting becomes our home for years to come and I know that Lodgis will do everything within it's power to make that happen. DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY We, incredibly, used the Paris agency twice. 1. On the first experience, we never received our $1200 Security Deposit back. We sent to it LODGIS who claim they sent it to the landlord who, given our bank information, never returned it to us at the successful completion of the lease. LODGIS promised to help us and so we rented a second apartment .... 2. Our second apartment is currently being rented by us. That said, we still have not received our Security Deposit from the first apartment and, for a time, this landlord claimed to have never received the security deposit from LODGIS. Finally LODGIS has been of absolutely no assistance is helping uswith any apartment problems. And the landlord lives In Normandy, 200 miles from the Paris apartment. My apartment received water damage on the walls in June 2017. It has yet to be fixed. I was in contact with one advisor, who has not been replying to my emails. This is the second person who has been in charge of my apartment who has disappeared. It is ridiculous that it is impossible to stay in contact with these guys. I found a 2 apartments to rent in Paris for 1 month as I will be in Paris for work. I submitted the request and an "agent" Clothilde responded, stating the apartment in question was available, the price including fees and instructions to reserve. I replied back to Clothilde, via emails and phone calls, who would NEVER respond. 3 days later, I am checking on status of the apartment only to find that the dates which were confirmed to me, was no longer available. Still trying to contact that real estate advisor, Clothilde, for an explanation, was always out to lunch or on another call, or some assinine excuse. DONT DEAL WITH LODGIS. I should have read the reviews on the awful business dealings. Clothilde....go back to school and learn professionalism. You are really clueless and inept. read more

I strongly recommend avoiding this agency. I had a nightmare experience with them and the landlord they worked with. I signed for an apartment with Lodgis before moving to Paris for a job transfer. The pictures made the place look quite nice. Then, a few days before I moved in, the landlord casually mentioned on the phone that there were renovations going on and that he'd reduce my rent by 100 euros for the first 2 months. Okay, no big deal, I thought. But I was wrong. I showed up at the apartment on move-in day with my bags, only to discover an uninhabitable place: building totally gutted, roof open and covered with a flimsy plastic tarp, plywood boards covering gaping holes in the stairs, barely able to even walk up the stairs because of the extremely precarious-looking scaffolding and uneven flooring, leaks in the ceiling, a gaping hole in one of the apartment walls, strong smell of mold, a window that didn't shut, etc. I can only assume that Lodgis doesn't even inspect or vet their apartments before renting them out to unsuspecting expats and charging them hundreds of euros for their "work." Kind of defeats the purpose of using an agency, doesn't it? So I called the agency immediately, explaining the situation and sending pictures, and asking for them to return the first month's rent and agency fee given the state of the apartment. To my surprise, I got no calls back and no responses to my initial emails. I ended up having to call the Lodgis agent and email her multiple times over the course of several days before I got a response. And her attitude, when she finally deigned to get around to responding, was sullen, apathetic, and extremely unprofessional. At first, she essentially told me that the unacceptable issues with the apartment weren't Lodgis' problem, and that I had to ask the landlord to reimburse me. It wasn't until I called them and emailed them repeatedly, every day, for more than a week, that they finally agreed to reimburse me in the end. In the end, this whole ordeal ended up costing me hours of my life, considerable amounts of money in taxi rides, moving expenses, etc., not to mention the extreme stress of not knowing for more than a week if I'd get my money back for what seemed to me to be a complete scam. So in conclusion: I recommend steering far clear of Lodgis. read more

Application process is not transparent. Im us citizen living in USA. I dont have Schengen stamp or visa resident permit either which i learned is required for many of these long term rental agencies. Lodgis asked for my 2020 tax records irs 1040, my usa passport, my property tax records, my pay stubs (last 3 payments). I was smart enough to redact all sensitive info. but still im leery that they have all my sensitive documents. After all documents were accepted I was asked why am I coming to paris and they asked for mission letter..uhhhhh what? I told them i was coming to paris to seek property to purchase and needed to stay for a long period of time. they consider this as tourism. so i was turned down. rather not contacted by anyone anymore. Ok that's fine I have other options but why ask for all my sensitive documents not knowing if i qualify just based on the reason/purpose of my visit? Seems to me from the beginning they should have just asked me why am I coming instead of waiting to ask me after I submitted all my documents. I rented from lodgis in summer 2018 and i had not had a hard time getting a apartment back then. They didnt have all these protocols in place like how they do now. We rented an apartment from Lodgis online, but when we arrived in Paris we discovered the apartment was covered in mold. We then proceeded to search for alternative housing for a month, during which time Lodgis was very slow to respond to our emails, told us we were only allowed to visit 3 apartments, stood us up at an apartment viewing, and, when we finally found an apartment we wanted, refused to negotiate our rent with the landlord, saying we didn't make enough money -- even though we proved we could pay for the whole rental period up front.
