Murray Hill Scenic Overlook is just an hour North of Omaha up I-29. I discovered Murray Hill after a few quick Google searches for hiking spots. Murray Hill is one of two trailheads for Brent's Trail, which is a challenging hike across 8 miles. Be careful though, this is not a loop trail so one trailhead to the next is 8 miles alone. We hiked 5 miles total, turning back at 2.5 miles. The 5 miles alone was a great workout and featured some amazing views. I can't recommend this scenic overlook enough! Can't wait to return in Spring!

I came on a warm October afternoon to check out the nine-hole disc golf course. My first impression was a good one. This course is well maintained: manicured fairways, clean baskets and concrete tee pads. While none of the holes were much more than 300 feet from tee to pin, there were plenty of trees and shrubs to add a bit of challenge to your throws. The first four holes are just north of the parking lot as your drive in. The back five are tucked behind the monument, and offer a more secluded environment, complete with sweeping valley views in between some seriously tough shots -- especially hole seven, a real beast of a hole. As is the case with a lot of local courses, I spent much of my first round attempting to find the tee pads, a few of which aren't marked properly. This is easily fixed, however, so hopefully the local disc golf club has something in the works.

This little walking area has a great place to stretch your legs. It's uttering amazing . As you sip coffee from a little open veranda flowers surround an individual. Then you bend down to smell the roses and butterflies are all around. If you close your eyes, the rainbow appears too! What a wonderful sight to see as you pass the world by on your way to anywhere. With two water slides and a fun staff, it's a great places for kids to go to cool off during those months between Memorial Day and Labor Day. However, when its hot and you'd like a dip in the pool, there are likely a multitude of Blair residents thinking the same thing at that very moment. A noticeable tension Blair had had to balance is the crowd size. Some days the place is swarming with people, both in the main swimming pool area and the "kiddie pool" area. So come early and claim a spot, or be prepared to put some money down for a swim at the YMCA down the street. You won't get the golden tan from being out in the open, but you might have a little more personal space.

There is a multitude of classes offered at this facility, many of which involve marksmanship, self defense, rural patrolling and surveillance, survival, etc. Many of these classes are also offered to civilians for skill development, or even just as team building training for your office, Boy Scout Troop, My Little Pony Brony Support Group or girl's volleyball team. Did I mention they have a doomsday bunker built into the ground? The training staff here is fantastic, all with tons of real world experience. They'll have you out in the bush, snoopin' and poopin' like a pro in no time (think Rambo, G.I. Joe or the Predator, and I mean that actual Predator, and not that wimpy Schwarzenegger all cowardly-like and covered in mud). Did I mention they have a doomsday bunker built into the ground? If you set your training up, check and see if there is bunkhouse availability. Sure, you'll be camping like at summer camp with bunk beds, but you can also drink beer with the buddies and grill steaks, and for $50 a night you really can't beat that. They also feature a great members club and surprisingly good food for a gun range. They also have a fair selection of guns and accessories for sale as well. That's where the compliments end. 88 Tactical has horrible customer service. The staff in the store and gun range act like they can hardly be bothered to greet or help you even when you ask them to. I've had bad experiences with the staff during classes, when dropping off my firearms for gunsmithing, and when shopping. Today I stood at a counter waiting for an employee to help someone else, when he was done he took one look at me and then turned to help someone who came to the counter after me. I then walked around and looked at other products for about 10 minutes came back and watched him shuffle products around in a case for a few minutes before I asked him if he was helping anyone and he just said "I'm looking for something". I was in the store for 20-25 minutes and no one ever greeted me, asked if I needed anything, and actually ignored me. This is typical of this place. On another visit I had a counter person violently grab my pistol out of my hand when I handed it to them unloaded, slide to the rear, and grip first. The owners and managers must be exceedingly arrogant because employees usually mirror the behavior of their bosses. I would love to support a business like this with such nice facilities in the Omaha area, but I just can't give these guys another cent.
