I have no idea why but it is almost impossible to find someone sharp enough to give a good mens haircut in St. Cloud. Most barbers in town specialize in comb-overs for those over 70 or buzz cuts for those under 7. Most salons focus on women's hair and will turn your taper into a toupée in under 10 minutes. Worst of all most men in town don't demand anything more because they fear that this might label as "metrosexual." Stop Searching & Stop Settling... Bar none Brian is the best barber I have found in St. Cloud! I highly recommend Loft Salon & Spa. I've been getting my hair cut there for about 5 years now. I used to get my hair cut at some of the big chains and there is no comparison. The hair cut at Loft Salon is so much better, but in addition the atmosphere, cleanliness and overall experience is night and day better than other places I've tried in the past. I had Kelli cut my hair, and it was one of the worst haircuts I've ever seen. I told her I couldn't go out looking like that, but she said she had another appointment, and I would have to reschedule for another day if I wanted her to try and fix it. I was leaving town, so I tried to hide my hair under a bandanna, and I went to my old stylist when in Iowa to try and fix it. Luckily, she altered her schedule to squeeze me in, once I sent her a picture of how bad Kelli's haircut was. She used me as a "learning moment" so she could teach all the other stylists how to fix a "mistake". I hate to leave such a bad review, but it really was that bad. Maybe she is used to cutting men's hair, but I can't recommend her for a women's haircut. read more

The Loft Salon and Spa is a great place. It seems to be a co-op of independent stylists. Andrea is who does my hair and I love that she understands fine, thin hair. She is able to cut it in a way that gives it some volume and not have to rely on a ton of product. I like that I can book appointments on line so at my convenience I can schedule a few and be set. read more

I tried this place out because I learned that they had a custom curly hair stylist, Tracy, and since I have curly hair it just made sense to try it. You guys! BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE! Tracy taught me everything there is to know about styling curly hair, provided education of why we do what we do to the hair, and styled it to really give me the volume and definition that I really wanted out of my curls. She is also such a fun person to be around and talk to. Tracy is a wealth of knowledge and talent and you would be making a mistake if you didn't try this place out. I will recommend this place to every curly haired girl I see. The Loft also has such a warm and modern atmosphere, making it a really relaxing place to be. If I could give this place more than just 5 stars, I would. read more

The salon is airy and light, with wood and repurposed tin walls. Little plants and hanging mason jars give it fun touches of green too. The stylest are friendly and courteous and Wendi is one of the best. She always knows how to highlight (sometimes lowlight) my hair, even when I want to try a striking fun color. She also knows how to repair damaged/botched highlights making my hair look natural again. I also trust she can cut my hair with different styles in mind and I know it's going to always look good, even if I don't have anything in mind, she makes it work well for me. Why did I go elsewhere? Because I've moved far away and needed to try someone close to me. Sadly, no one else compares. So when I can, I try to make it back to see her and the Loft is easy to get to with convenient parking. read more

I went for a brow wax/shape. It was precisely done and Naomi does nice work. The Loft pays close attention to details of your service, maintain the highest standard in the cleanliness for a salon, has a great feel and ambiance and I will come back. I like that they have an online system to make appointments, however, it does not cover everything according to their website (i.e. I want to make an appointment for a pedicure, but it is not an option on their online appointment system). read more
