I had been going here for almost 5 years. The good things about the clinic are the hours, ability…read moreto get seen by walking in, the attentiveness of the nurses and doctors, and managing my prescriptions. Receptionists were great too! My issues have been recent to within the last year. I've been referred to specialists that ended up NOT being in network of my health insurance. Combined, I have close to 4,000.00 in medical bills because of this. I even asked the admins in charge of referrals, who do I send my bills to? According to the specialists and my new PCP, somebody at Dr. Walker's office should have known these specialists were out of network and referred me to those who are in network. They HAD an APRN who I'd see about sinus infections and related problems, she'd PRESCRIBE me OVER THE COUNTER MEDICINES. My insurance covers almost all of my prescriptions except over the counter medicines. Several times I had to tell the nurse that I can't afford to pay for over the counter meds, I need an actual prescription. It was like pulling teeth to get an actual prescription. That APRN no longer works there now. I've seen every other APRN there I believe and never had any problems except them referring me to the out of network stuff. Remember where I said they accept walk ins? I tried to call them to let them know I was going to walk in the following day to see one of the doctors. They said I couldn't do that because there was only 1 doctor there and he was double booked for the day. That was the final straw for me. I've gone to other doctors and complained about how I was treated at Dr. Walker's office and ALL of them say that Dr. Walker's office is responsible for knowing if a specialist is in my insurance network or not. And if not, then they don't refer me to them. These same doctors said that they've heard a lot of complaints on how bad Dr. Walker's office has been. If you work days and can't get into the doctor until after work, then this is the place for you. When they refer you somewhere, DOUBLE and TRIPLE check that the specialist is in network for you or you're gonna pay. I suggest any other doctor's office than here.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my review on google. Unfortunately, your reply has…read moreadded to the discomfort of my experience rather than helping to resolve it. As someone who works in management and customer service, I was hoping for a professional, empathetic, and apologetic response that acknowledged my concerns. Instead, the tone of the response felt defensive and dismissive, which was disappointing. My original review was written professionally and with the intention of voicing my experience in hopes of constructive improvement. I have nothing personal against anyone at the clinic. However, being met with hostility rather than understanding does not reflect the level of care, respect, or professionalism patients should expect--especially in a healthcare setting where feeling safe, heard, and respected is essential. I would also like to clarify the statement regarding my insurance. I was very clearly informed that I was waiting due to a clean room, not because of insurance-related issues. Referencing my insurance instead of acknowledging this miscommunication further demonstrates a lack of accountability. Additionally, mentioning having a biracial child does not negate or invalidate my experience. While representation and inclusivity are important, that statement raised additional concern, as it does not address the issue at hand and should not be used as a defense against a patient's lived experience. There are many free and accessible resources available that offer guidance on responding to reviews from a professional, business-oriented perspective rather than from a place of personal emotion. Utilizing such tools could help ensure future responses are constructive and aligned with best practices in patient care and customer service. I am sharing this feedback not out of malice, but in hopes that the clinic will reflect, take accountability, and move forward in a way that ensures all patients feel understood, respected, and safe.
