A real nice room, access to kitchen and bathroom, more than 100 channels on the flatscreen TV for less than 500 DKK per night is a sweet deal!! The best part is that Billesgade B&B is situated a mere 7 minute walk from the city centre. P.S. Look out for the Danish bikers. They do not brake for anyone:-(

Only downside is that the walls are thin, so even if your neighbours are quiet, you may still wake up if they use the bathroom at nighttime. This of course because you have a tendency to sleep lightly the first couple of nights you stay at a new place. But indeed not something to complain about. It is just what it is. But overall a very good place to spend the night, close to the centre, free parking if you are traveling by car and cheap. Highly recommended.

Over the decades, it has been expanded and modernized, giving the building a unique blend of historic charm and contemporary comfort. However, the various additions and renovations have resulted in somewhat long and cumbersome pathways within the hotel, as well as an inconsistent look and feel--a minor drawback that also contributes to the hotel's character. Room & Amenities My room was spacious, featuring a comfortable couch and a safe. Unfortunately, there was no refrigerator, which would have been practical for longer stays. The bed was very comfortable and inviting for relaxation. However, the lack of air conditioning was an issue: with the high temperatures during my stay, the room became quite warm. To make matters worse, one window could not be opened--and it wasn't repaired during my stay--limiting ventilation and exacerbating the heat. Breakfast & Service The continental breakfast was a highlight: a generous buffet in a beautiful, historic dining room with a good selection of local specialties. The only downside was the single coffee machine, which led to short waits during peak times. The service was consistently friendly and helpful--from the quick check-in and check-out to the small attentions throughout my stay. The staff made my experience pleasant. Location & Surroundings The central location of the hotel is ideal for exploring Odense. However, it was a bit noisy on the weekend due to the open windows (and the lack of air conditioning), as the street in front of the hotel is quite lively. A clearly marked unloading zone for guests with luggage would have been helpful, as it wasn't immediately obvious where to find it. Leisure Facilities The fitness center was decently equipped, though towels and a drink dispenser would have enhanced the comfort. Conclusion: First Hotel Grand Odense is a charming hotel that impresses with its historic atmosphere, central location, and excellent service. A few minor issues--such as the lack of air conditioning, the broken window, or the long corridors--slightly detract from the overall experience but are not enough to discourage a recommendation. With a few adjustments, a stay here could be even more perfect.

We had a couple minor hiccups, but nothing terrible, and they were fixed fairly quickly. We did get warm during the night, however, and the provided fan didn't do enough for us to sleep as comfortably as we would have liked. One little note: At 10:00 on the dot, breakfast is over! They clear the food faster than a sonic boom!

There's only so much you can say about a tourism bureau, but this one is actually pretty nicely done, so I felt it needed a review. First off, they're right near what many would consider the primary inroads to Gågade and all its shops. If you're arriving by bus or walking from a nearby parking garage, this will be one of the first places you go past, as it sits on the periphery of the entire district. Inside, they have all the requisite tourist info, pamphlets and brochures, but there's also some nice merchandise for purchase as well. In the past, I've picked up things like stickers and patches for my suitcase, but they also have hats, t-shirts and the like. It's definitely a perfect place to stop in if you want to get some keepsakes for friends, family or colleagues without breaking the bank, as their prices seem to be much better than other souvenir shops. Another thing worth mentioning, and I almost hesitate to share, is that if you go through the doors at the back of the shop (directly across from the entrance) and follow the signs down the hall, around the corner and downstairs, you will find some of the cleanest, most spacious and well hidden bathrooms in all of Gågade. Considering that your other options are usually the non-working pay toilet a hundred yards away in the midst of a bike path intersection (seriously) or the scant few places in Gågade with a restroom for paying customers, this place is a life saver. The fact that it's spacious and clean is an added bonus. Finally, the folks working in the tourism office are always friendly, quick to ring us up when we purchased some souvenirs and have never had an issue with us just popping in to hit the restroom during our shopping trips in Gågade.

They kindly helped us organise our visit at Egeskov castle. Breakfast is very diversified, we were able to eat a different breakfast every day. Note that breakfast ends at 9:30 which is a little early but still. I used the laundry service, and I thought it was quite pricy, but I guess laundry service is pricy in every hotel (and it was still 4 times cheaper than in Norway). The hotel is close to the train station, and near restaurants and parks. I highly recommend.

The weather was beyond beautiful & "my boys" did lots of swimming & splashing around as we awaited our food. There was also a large, inflated climbing wall/slide in the water, which added to the fun. While they swam, I enjoyed sitting in the sun, strolling through a small white rose garden/bushes, exploring the gorgeous ground floor of the hotel & friendly smiles from fellow diners. The service unfortunately needs to be heavily improved. We had to wait much too long for our dishes to arrive and for our waiter to get back to us for ordering any food or drinks. If the day & location weren't so beautiful, I sound have been very annoyed. BUT, the waiters/waitresses are all young students & do try their best. They were never rude or mean, or overly flustered. I am sure that with time, they will get better at their job in terms of multi-tasking & speed. There was also another wedding party happening simultaneously, so perhaps that contributed the poor service for us & other guests. The food was great. Ordered fish of the day, and the fish was perfectly cooked/ buttery soft & melts in your mouth. My son enjoyed his schnitzel dish, but the peas were slightly over-cooked.
