In fact, my friend and I left wondering when we can go back. I would highly recommend the t-shirt party. It was a surprising amount of fun. And, from what I understand, they are doing them more and more. My class was at 630pm, so working around it was easy. My group was maybe a dozen people and they had two guys running the class (plus one printscreening-pro helper.) You're put in the back workshop surrounded by cool equipment and ink is everywhere: the atmosphere has just the right vibe and, first time or not, you feel like you belong there as a print-screener (until you get inky fingerprints on your t-shirt and cry out for help to fix it - which they are pretty damn good at). As for the guys running it, they were awesome. They were nice to everyone, answered all our questions, and were willing to help us out with anything we needed (like the ink spots). They treated us like we were all just hanging out and they gave us a pretty long leash to try what we wanted. They also played some awesome music for us! The only thing I regret is I entered the class too late and didn't get to submit my own design. (I can only blame myself for that mistake.) Watching people claim their designs was awesome. They set everything up for you and all you have to do is choose an ink color. I really didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. You really should try it just once, especially if you are a t-shirt-oholic. We also had someone making shirts for a charity bike ride (clever). Just . . .make sure you wear junky clothes!
