We were quite a large group (about 10), which seemed to baffle the waitress, although we had booked the previous day, and service was generally very slow. As the restaurant was changing their menu at the time, there were a few dishes which were not available, and the kitchen also seemed to be short of quite a few ingredients, meaning that not everyone got to order what they liked. This was a shame, as the menu itself was quite exciting - Prammen aims for Norwegian-European gastro pub fare, including the ubiquitous tapas plate and aioli burger, but also oxtail soup (which, unfortunately, was one of the dishes that were not available). Most of our party ordered burgers or tapas plates - i opted for the antipasti plate (I find it fascinating that this turned out to be a samller selection tapas plate - clearly the people at Prammen are of the opinion that Italians eat less than Spaniards...). I was satisfied, but not thrilled with my meal, the highlight of which was a thoroughly decent aioli. The burgers suffered from "height syndrome" - meaning that the meat-to-other ratio seemed far to large for my liking, but if you are a meat slab person, this would probably not trouble you. The burers were served with a skimpy amount of vegetables and an even more diminuitive amount of sauce, but a generous side of chips with ailoi. As for drinks, Prammen has a fairly standard selection of beers at a standard price for Norwegian conditions (meaning a high one...). The restaurant is part of a bar/eatery/concert hub complex, and the atmosphere is generally good. The interior is also quite cool, and it is a pleasant place to have a pint and chat.

There are tables and chairs in abundance, some of which are sharing tables (or if you're a group). In the back you can enjoy your tea/coffee Japanese-style (though not too appropriate if you're here to do hand writing). Available rest rooms and power plugs (make sure you bring the long ones, as not all tables have sockets nearby). Anyways, the ginger green tea is my fav (by mug or pot); and together with the raspberry muffins you're in for a treat! Prices are typical those of Oslo. And location is just off Majorstua Station. Highly recommended for the purpose of working/stuying while sipping tea/coffee and stuffing your face with delicious carbs.

Delicious Thai chicken salad with mango...yum. I had the BLT (Bacon, lettuce and tomato). Wonderful and fresh with crispy bacon, homemade bread, cos lettuce and baby greens with fresh tomato...and lots of it. Excellent value, lovely spot and great food. The perfect place to start or end a Sunday walk around Bygdøy. Take bus number 30 and get off at Bygdøynes stop. Follow signs to the Holocaust centre. From the cafe, there is a path that takes you directly to Huk (5 minutes walk). It is difficult to find from the opposite direction (from Huk). This is my new favorite place!

I went with 4 girlfriends on a Thursday. We booked a table which was smart because the restaurant was full when we arrived at 19:00. The interior is cool and trendy and I loved the big windows looking out onto the street. There is free parking (after 17:00) almost next door, but even better if you want to have a glass of wine or two, it's right on the 143 bus line. The service was attentive and nicely paced, not too slow or too rushed. We were one of the last tables to leave and we never felt like they were ready to rush us out the door. But sadly, this is where my positive comments end because while all of the above are important, it's the food that will bring me back and Jeppehuset let me down here. I had the akevittgravede laks (119 nok) as a starter and hjortfilet med rosenkål and tyttebæer (289nok). The hjortfillet was very tough and overcooked and there is really no excuse to serve boiled brussel sprouts in the 21st century. I am sure the tyytebæer sauce was from a jar which was also a great disappointment. I am left with the impression that the owners of Jeppe know they have a great location ("If you build it, they will come"). I just hope they realize they also need great food for me to become a regular customer.
