I haven't had Cabin Filter changed since new, so had them check that also. The filter was hard to get at so it took awhile to locate. The technician located filter and took it out and I said they could order another one. I also had the garage do a full A/C system recovery and recharge and they added more Freon to the system. The A/C worked much better after the work they done on it, and the garage charged much less for the work then what the Mercedes Dealership wanted. But If there is a safety concern like brakes. They will try to hold your car hostage and won't release it. They told me i needed new brakes and the price was way too high. So i told them that i couldn't fit that into my budget and choose not to go with them. So they then told me they would not release my car because it's a safety concern. Which it wasn't because the brakes still had a few months left on them. Either way my normal mechanic is about half the price. So i wanted to take it to him. I was only at Meineke for the cheap oil change they advertised. They wouldn't let me leave and tried keeping my keys, but i had a spare set in my pocket . So i jumped into my car and told them i would drive right through their bay door and said it will cost them a new door. Finally the owner or boss said he would let my car go, but they were not going to be responsible and that they warned me about the brakes. I told them i would never be back because they were sneaky and they charge way to much. He didn't seem to care.

Not only did they take my car in immediately and repair it, but they didn't charge me a thing!!! They don't know…read morewhat it means to be accountable and what customer service is. i brought my car for a safety, left with more problems and didn't get the quoted work done. i was driving the car for almost 2 weeks and logged three 200 km (600km total) trips with no issues. they messed up my handbrake which wasn't an issue prior to me bringing the car in. killed my battery. dirtied my interior and exterior with grease marks. now i have a transmission failsafe message and have lost power. quoted replacements for both front and rear brakes and rotors. never changed the front rotors but charged me for the work. they weren't willing to explain why it wasn't done and didn't reduce my cost for the issues they created! they left a huge screwdriver in the engine bay that fellout when they test drove it to try to figure why my instrument cluster wasn't lighting up. again wasn't an issue prior to them working on it. oh btw he ran my back tire over that screwdriver, which i then picked up and asked if he was missing it and returned it. based on my experience and observations from inside the shop, they should be fixing small engines like lawnmowers. keep your cars away from this place!!! i'm not even sure they are licensed to work on cars. google is their best friend, not knowledge or experience. i saw the search history when he was trying to find why my cluster wasn't lighting up and where the fuse box was. didn't even fix my parking brake after making it loose. long story short i paid, sorry i mean got screwed over, they sent me to another shop for a diagnostic which they would cover the cost ( it was like pulling teeth to come to this compromise which was my suggestion), and now i have to go to my mechanic in my city. forgot to mention i was out of town and this place came as a recommendation from a chimpanzee. We were charged $274 for a safety test and given a long list of recommended repairs--including wiper blades, rubber around the trunk, and even a scratch on the windshield, which they insisted required a full windshield replacement. After completing the repairs, we returned only to be told that the safety certificate had expired after 10 days. Since we were one day over, we had to pay again. The price was non-negotiable. They explained that this was due to recent changes in government regulations and that not many places are equipped to perform the updated safety test. That's when we went to Ballymote Auto Service, where the safety was completed professionally, with excellent service--and for $160. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we won't be going back to The Mufflerman.
