Penny our world was saved today after becoming very ill with pyometra. Rebecca, Josh and their amazing team worked so hard for hours saving her life. I'm poorly myself so was extremely upset and they took their time and very considerate towards our broken hearts. Yes it cost money but her health was worth every penny as I couldn't save her that's why I feel overwhelmed that these very skilled professionals gave me this chance to have her laid in my arms tonight alive and was given the best care I'd hoped for. Distasteful, despicable and unsympathetic, all they care about is money. Today we had to have our pet put to sleep, we had already paid in excess of £200 for vet bills over the last week, so they were well aware making payments was not an issue. After watching our pet taken away for euthanasia , we were about to leave the surgery very upset. The unsympathetic young lady at the desk only seemed to care about getting payment for the euthanasia, I said please send the bill. There is a pointless candle on the counter saying when this is alight it means someone has lost a pet, this wasnt even used, the staff were more focused on the money side of things. 3 hours later I then receive a phone call asking for payment. I have never experienced such a disgraceful way of handling the death of an animal. Vets are supposed to care? Not at London Road Surgery.. AVOID like the plague!!! read more

Just moved to the area and noticed something wrong with one of my dogs, took to this vet and was looked after initially. Paid in full for the treatment and for on-going tablets. They didn't have the tablets in stock so said that they will get them from another branch and I can come and collect them. My wife went back to the vets to pick up the tablets but before hand had noticed that we could get the tablets from the online vet for a quarter of the price (exactly the same might I add)and we just need a repeat prescription, they said the repeat prescription would be £12 per month, every month x2 with no reduction. Our previous vet would do a 6 months prescription for £12 as they are on medication for life, so at this money it would cost a fortune just for the prescriptions and with the tablets at FOUR TIMES the price from LONDON ROAD VET, STANWAY, we decided that we didn't want them from here. My wife then asked the vet to refund the money we had already paid as we could get them much cheaper. The receptionist then sent for the vet that had treated my dogs and he duly came out and said to my wife in front of a shop full of people, your dogs are GOING TO DIE FROM THIS, so you might as well just pay to have the tablets through us!!!!!!! he said it Like we couldn't afford it!? I can afford it, the money is not a problem, my dogs are my family, it is the fact that they want to charge me £288 per year for prescriptions and FOUR times the price of Online Vet (again same tablets) Disgusting!, my wife broke down in tears at the reminder that our dog is very ill but there is a way of doing it, AVOID THIS VET if you love your pets like family, OVER PRICED,RUDE, NON PROFESSINAL, IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE DIRT GO HERE. read more
