The manager is a wonderful host. The campsites are very well maintained. Everything was clean with many shady spots. Mostly very quiet, with an occasional, brief moment of cars on a nearby highway. My husband and I have traveled all over the U.S.A. By far this is definitely one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at. It has everything one can need. It has a grocery a hundred yards away. It has pull through sites for bigger rigs, It has full amenities and it has a small lake for kids to play in. Friendly staff, easy to find, right off the highway. Pet friendly. What a wonderful resort! The manager Christopher keeps the place very clean and he is so attentive to guests. Which I truly appreciate. Great manager. We been here for a month now and I couldn't be more happy. We have dogs with us so for me is very important to have a place to walk them and the area is perfect. It's spacious, surrounded by trees and just beautiful nature. The park wifi is incredible, one of the best we have experienced. it's fast and super reliable. We have stayed in over 8 different resorts and my husband and I can agree, this one takes #1. I completely recommend staying here. We love it!! read more

Christopher, the owner, would not issue a refund after we had to cancel 2 days after we made the reservation stating he had to issue us a cancellation fee of $50 due to not cancelling within 30 days! What??? He said he would credit me the rest but it has been 3 weeks and still no credit. This is a scam. I am posting so other campers are not taken advantage of as well. My girlfriend and I really had our expectations low because of the 1 review on expedia but this place was perfect. We stayed in Applegate Cabin (4) and it came with great amenities. It came with a coffee maker, can opener, cork opener, spoons and forks along with a sink to do dishes. Showers were close along with bathrooms however make sure to come during the day because during night time it was hard to find our cabin. We never saw managers so i can not comment on it however the man we called for check in was nice and gave us great directions. read more

Beware of cancellation policy! We originally intended to camp here for a week beginning October 28, but we have had a family emergency requiring a cancellation. I reached out to cancel with 54 days notice and because this request was NOT WITHIN 48 HOURS of my original booking window (which was back in June), I've only received 50% my payment back (which was the full amount) less an additional $15 cancellation fee. I responded to staff indicating my confusion (I thought I'd get the full amount only less $15), to which the Resort Manager, Christopher, promptly replied (thank you) that his hands were tied as he only can click a button and the Good Sam website does the rest. The principle of retaining your full reservation amount only being possible if you cancel within 48 hours (but more than 14 days in advance of your reservation) is greedy and not a customer friendly one. Please learn from my mistake and understand the cancellation policy for the loop-holes. read more

We enjoyed out 8 days here, spacious level gravel lots, 50 amp service and the park is in a great location to travel to California to see the Redwood National Forest as well as explore the caves. Host was extremely nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. read more

We've been full-time RV travelers since 2011. In that time we've stayed at RV parks that we will never return to, lots of parks that were adequate but not great and a very few that we will go out of our way to patronize again. There are a handful of parks and resorts that are so good that we hesitate to name them because we don't want to get crowded out. Lone Mountain RV Resort in O'Brien Oregon is one of the latter. A nice, clean park in a great location. Nice spaces with ample room, tent camping spaces and rental teepees, large common areas, a freshwater swimming pond and more. There's a mix of long term and traveling folks here and everyone seems happy. There's a nearby store and gas/propane station(no diesel), a post office and a great restaurant within walking distance. Christopher, the park manager is a gem. He's attentive and helpful and keeps the resort well-maintained and - very important - free of tweakers and troublemakers. We've seen too many places that have been overrun with a "new breed" of RVers that are making RV life more and more difficult. Those folks don't last long at Lone Mtn. While we were there the park upgraded it's wifi and it is without a doubt the best park wifi we have ever used. Seriously fast and reliable. LMR is located just north of the Oregon-California border and redwood forests, just 8 miles from Cave Junction stores and services, day-trip distance to the OR and CA coast to the south, Grants Pass and Medford to the north. As much as we would like to keep this place a secret, we also want other respectable travelers to know about this absolute gem of a resort. read more

Wow! What a great experience! My truck broke down in O'Brien while I was towing my travel trailer. The folks at this RV Park disconnected my TT and towed it to their park, set my rig up, and checked in on me while I was waiting for the tow truck. They even transported me and my bike and some RV hoses for me, helped me when my power cord wasn't long enough, and let me use their phone to communicate with the auto shop. To say they were nice is an understatement, they were amazing. Even going so far as to get me a ride to Grants Pass to pick up my truck. And, as if the fantastic service wasn't enough, this is a great park with all sorts of amenities. Laundry is only $1.25 a load. A beautiful swimming hole is in the back of the property, they are very dog friendly, tipis are available for rent and the tall trees and flowers are quite beautiful. My husband booked an off road Razor trip for 9 RVs during the month of June. The manager "Christopher" couldn't have been more pleasant and professional to deal with over the phone. He was always so calm, friendly and was eager to accommodate in any way he could. I couldn't wait to meet him in person, just because of his etiquette over the phone! When we arrived everything was just as we expected - clean and well kept throughout the entire park. When meeting Christopher in person he definitely didn't disappoint - simply a class act gentleman through and through. He is always checking on things throughout the park and making sure his guests are having an outstanding experience. There is even an online check-in process, which is so convenient! The entire park is truly squared away making it a GEM in this area for sure! We enjoyed every moment and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when in this area. This rv spot is awesome! Electric hook ups and water with very clean well working restroom facilities. The water comes from a well so the water was clean and soft. The pond, that is in walking distance was swimmable and clean. Very cute. They also had teepees and cabins that were rentable. Al, the manager, was more than helpful and made my family vacation easy to have fun! He was informational and got me excited about the propane grills, campfire site, and games set up on the grass mound in the middle of the park! Glen, the owner, even stopped by and made small conversation with us! Very hospitable, polite, and so much fun! When i return it will definitely be with Lone Mountain Park! read more

Fantastic campground with amazing staff! Most of the RV sites seem to be occupied by the seasonal "snowbird" seniors, so it is quiet in the evening. The tent sites are very spacious with plenty of room for chairs, coolers, etc. I wish we didn't have to pay $1.25 to use the showers, but as nice as this place and everyone here has been, it's not the end of the world. Lots of wildlife roaming around the park. Turkeys, lizards, and even a deer joining another campground for their breakfast! The tipis are a lot of fun too, but may let more bugs in than a tent would. read more

We had a great experience here, staying in the tipis. We had one of the smaller ones, but it was plenty for the 3 of us. In spite of the sketchy policing situation in the valley as a whole, we felt very safe as the park is patrolled by the owners. As other people have noted, everything was very, very clean. We loved the swimming pond. Very very quiet (well, except for crickets and bullfrogs!). Showers/restrooms were sparking clean, and the owners were very helpful. This place is awesome for camping if you're in the Cave Junction area. It's about 8 miles west of Cave Junction actually, and we stumbled across it by accident because we were looking for a state campground that we never found. Apparently it doesn't exist, we found out later... We pulled into this campground because it was getting really late and we didn't want to turn around back to Cave Junction. When you first pull in, all you see are RV spots, which are kind of funny because it's all concrete and rock, except for a big patch of very manicured green grass beside each spot. They have 5 tent camping sites, which are far away from the entrance... you drive around the back and go into the wooded area. Each of their tent sites are very far away from the other so you have lots of privacy. When we were there, there was only one other family at site 1 and we were at site 5, closest to the swimming hole! It's really pretty there, the bathroom and shower is amazingly clean and spacious. It's actually only one stall and one shower, but it seemed like nobody ever used it because they have their own RV's. Showers are $1.25 for 10 mins, which is plenty. Tent sites are $15, but if you have AAA/CAA, it's $13.50. Awesome deal for a great site. read more

We had a very different experience than other folks who reviewed this establishment. For starters, our cabin #3 was super dirty. We had reserved a cabin for 3 nights, but within 2 hrs knew that we had to leave asap. We felt unwelcome and unsafe. The seemingly unstable host made us question if we should leave immediately. We arrived around 6pm and had the campground host immediately follow us and tell us that we owed a pet fee (no Hi or How ya doin...no greeting whatsoever) just immediate frowns and hostility. And I do mean hostility...pretty sure racism was a factor. I get acquainted with the cabin...seems cute...then gross...the glasses to drink from are filthy, the surfaces are covered in dust and dirt. I had to wipe down the surfaces and scrub the cups and glasses. I then check the bed. Pretty clean...no bed bugs but a seriously questionable mess is left on the blanket. (See pic) The campground host returns with our very friendly neighbors. He's super professional with them. He's in his go-cart and the neighbors are in their truck which scares our two dogs. The dogs bark at them (total normal dog behavior) and the host literally threatens me with expulsion and states that "there better not be a problem" with our dogs. It was so unprofessional and strange. There are ways to communicate concern that show respect to the person you are speaking with. This was not the case. He spoke to me with a tone of anger and condescension. He addressed me as if I were a petulant child. It was shocking. I am a 50 year old woman and know mysogyny when I see it. I am certain that if I were a man he would have never treated me the way he did. He then actually told our neighbors that we may be a problem and to contact him if there is a problem while I was standing there! Those folks turned out to be great people! We were told by the host that my dogs, who barked very little, were a problem which needed to be "handled." Interestingly, I was barked at by multiple dogs while walking on the premises. So, the message was clear. We, as human beings, for whatever reason, were not welcome. If you value human dignity, avoid this place. It is apparent that this place is selective with whom they choose to treat with professionalism and respect. (see picture) read more

Lone Mountain is easily one of the best little RV park campgrounds I've ever visited! Behind the RVs there are teepees and spacious campsites. The owners graciously gave us a $15 huge tent site even though we showed up at midnight and woke them up! Clean bathrooms, dish washing stations, Porta potties, and campsites. Private swimming hole (clean and lovely), walking distance to a convenience store, cute pavilion with a community BBQ/games/wifi, limited road noise, and plenty of privacy. The owners are very sweet and had good advice for things to do nearby. They were also very accommodating for my dog and did not charge us a pet fee. I will definitely be back! read more

Located a mere ten minutes from Cave Junction, so not out of the way for those heading up to the caves. We checked out the other RV parks in Cave Junction, they are all right on the highway, and this facility runs circles around any of them in terms of overall quality. Located walking distance from a convenient market and far enough off the main road that it is very quiet. BTW: Allow at least 60 minutes drive from here to get to the caves, maybe a bit longer during peak season. Important: get reservations so you don't have to wait on first come, first served basis for a tour, and allow extra time for the hiking trails above the caves. Beautiful! read more

We had our first ever family reunion here. It was a wonderful experience all around. There were forty of us in tents, teepees, an RV site and the "cabin". The grounds are immaculate as are the showers and laundry facilities. We made use of the horse shoe area, learned how to play ladder ball, had a group campfire at the gazebo area, went fishing and to the caves. Camp hosts Jim and Kathy were friendly and helpful. After a long, wet, and windy drive up the California Coast we were met by friendly faces and a beautiful setting for our overnight. The park is meticulously maintained, the bathrooms are spotless and every attention to details has been paid. It is with great sadness and disbelief that I write this review about my recent experience at this establishment. My partner and I rented a cabin last week with the illusion of having a great outdoor experience. Unfortunately, our experience was completely ruined as the host make it clear that we were not welcome. As a woman of color, the environment was hostile from the beginning of the stay. The host followed us back to our cabin even though it clearly states in the Air B and B instructions that if the host was off duty buzzing around that we could go directly to the cabin. When the host arrived he did not welcome us or even say hello. He immediately stated that I needed to pay the pet fee and that I should have called the number on the door. First, how do I do that when there is no cell service? We had just arrived, it was 6pm. With all the hate in the world right now I sure did not expect to get this in the outdoors. Where are people of color safe? I try to enjoy the outdoors and even then I have to be confronted with racism and discrimination read more

My husband and I took our 12 yr old nephew to camp in one of the beautiful tipis they have and we had a great overnight visit! Here's a rundown of our observations: The camp is an easy find, right off the main highway. Upon entering the camp there is a gorgeous waterfall at the entrance! The camp has nicer rvs parked in nice little tidy spots, most with their own little lawns, and trees. It's not a huge park, but is very comfortable and well maintained. We met the owners of the park tooling around in their utility car, and they were absolutely the nicest people ever! They were so friendly and helpful, Glen even took our nephew on a little jaunt around the park! The tipis were amazing and well built. they have nice pavers for the floor and comfy futons, chairs, and little tables. The big one has some adironack chairs around the firepit. Then there's 2 other smaller ones. The 3 of us fit very comfortably in a small one. Bring sleepingbags or sheets and blankets.The tipis are at the rear of the camp right by the pond and creek. The pond was really nice for swimming. There's a portapotty nearby. The bathrooms/showers up in the front of the camp were really nice and clean. They've also got some nice horseshoe pits, a covered picnic area with BBQs and tables. There wasn't really anything undesirable about this campground at all that I could see. We plan to go back soon with friends and reserve the big Ceremonial Tipi! read more

We found this camp ground coming back from the red wood park. We was only going to stay one night but we Ended up staying four night. Jeff the Host help us get to our Space it after dark about 8:30 at night. He stays and help to make sure i got set up. We talked about how much the park had to offer and things thats we could do around area. This was last September 2017. We like the host so much that we came back in February 2018 for four more days. read more

This RV park is amazing. The grounds & facilities are extremely well maintained, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We had a pull thru spot which was almost perfectly level. Each spot has a small grass area and it is a short walk to the creek. The park is close to the Oregon Caves. We will definitely return to this resort. Also, reasonably priced. read more

have stayed in park many times, this last visit was not the best, will not recommend to anyone. upon checking in we were informed new management, we found it was impossible to reach someone after 7 pm for anything, no firewood and manager was disgruntled at having to come out after 7 pm. bathrooms were not cleaned well. no toilet tissue. cigarette butts on beach(someone was stripping them to filters or burying them in the sand and dropping them other places in park. new manager Giles I believe his name was,, seemed to be fairly drunk and not too friendly. upon locating old management we were told they had retired and just please try to get along with new management they were new to the park. new or not unacceptable behavior,, park has gone down in aviance and cleanliness, ,, and we found new management smoking cigarettes in open vehicle in wooded area? fire season people. we also inquired why new management and were told by Giles,, old management incompetent, couldn't do their job,, read more
