Came across an issue could no longer ignore and looked up dentists in the area, made an appointment for the next day. Was amazed how simple and easy they made the insurance. In 6 + years with company hadn't used insurance. Work remote, travel construction away from the corporate office and HR. Looked up my benefits on our system, printed off a screen shot of what it showed for me. Took this into my appointment. The lady at the front desk took the screen shot I printed off and said "i'll fill all this out for you. Go ahead and take a seat." Less than 10 minutes later I was getting Xrays. They really made me feel at ease. From going over the Xrays and explaining my options and outcomes of each. Was quick and painless. Were really friendly and there to answer any questions. When done left me with a prescription to avoid infection. And instructions on what I should do to ensure the best recovery. Went over in detail what I should do to ensure recovery. Let me know if had any issues after I leave, or questions, or concerns, to call or stop back in. Although I just happend to have stopped in as was working in the area. The office is clean and welcoming and the staff is professional and friendly. I was particularly impressed by the hygienist who cleaned my teeth, Tara. She communicated with me the whole way through, so I knew what to expect. Dr. Bisson was also really great! He was generous with his time and his expertise. I feel like I got excellent care and am so grateful to the team at Bisson.

Also, I visited the doctor another time with tooth ache. The problem was that I had feed stuck in between my teeth, but I didn't realize that that's what was causing the pain. So he only used dental floss to clean the space between 2 teeth and charged me for a partial exam.

They assured me the office was in network for TriCare, so I felt comfortable sending my girls. One of my daughters absolutely hates the dentist, and even she said her appointment went well, making me assume everything was fine. Then the bill arrived. I received a bill for over $500, which made no sense. When I called, they claimed we had "other insurance," which we do not. I refused to pay a bill that was clearly incorrect. Today, I received another call, now the bill is $722 and change, with over $200 in late fees added. A 20% monthly late fee is outrageous and predatory. Thankfully, CareCredit allowed me to pay off my daughter's account so I could close it out and ensure my girls never return. To make matters worse, one of my daughters had a growth on her gum. It was never biopsied, never referred out to an in-network provider, and never addressed properly. They could not manage a basic referral to an in-network provider, but they had no problem adding excessive late fees. Brookings, South Dakota does not have many dental options, but I can say with confidence that Embrace Dentistry is not military friendly, not transparent, and not trustworthy.
