Everything about eating here was bad, from the waitstaff being inattentive (at their best) to the burgers being dry, over cooked, and essentially flavourless. There are very few nice things to say about this place situated in the Belconnen mall. Ambience- the music was loud and the songs were covers of mainly classic rock by ne'er do well performers. The covers were of standard songs for those familiar with the classic rock genre and the mutilated version of a Crosby, Stills and Nash song was particularly grating. The decor was standard chain restaurant. And frankly if you live in Australia the charm of an Australian themed restaurant seems over contrived an pathetic and would work better for stupid Yankees and tourists who think that this is what Australia is about. Service- What an absolute joke!!! I told the waitress that two of us would be sharing the prime rib. Only one plate came out. No water. No drink refills. No one asked us how our overpriced steak was (overcooked). And we had to leave the table to pay the bill because the waitress couldn't be bothered to bring it to us. The waitress seemed young, inexperienced and poorly trained. I asked her manager about it when we left and I got a pretty pathetic "Yeah we know the service can improve. Sorry". If they are going to charge outrageous amounts for what is basically a chain steakhouse the service had better be a lot better than this. I've met friendlier staff at McDonalds! The manager was unapologetic for the overcooked steak and the poor service. I doubt they'll stay in business long with their attitude. Food- Let's be honest here... My half blind uncle missing his taste buds due to agent orange exposure in Vietnam could cook a better steak. Who on earth charges $30 for an overcooked steak / "prime rib". It wasn't prime rib. It was an overcooked steak and if you want prime rib I suggest hog's breath and not this place. The coleslaw was a meager portion but had some nice crunch. The house salad was a paltry small handful of mixed leaves overdressed with balsamic dressing (no choice on what the salad comes dressed with). The chips were pretty much standard for a frozen and par cooked product. They weren't fresh cut nor were they anything resembling crispy and they were hidden under the streak and became even soggier. $4 for a sasparilla and almost $4 for a coke and no refill. Even my local club can manage a couple of refills for that price. The BBQ sauce was average at best and the "caramelized" onions had barely seen a couple of minutes on the flat top. They still were rather firm and lacked any color to suggest actual caramelization. There is a nice play area for little ones to enjoy whilst parents eat and that is the only reason this place manages one star. Final verdict- Don't bother. There are less expensive places to sit down and enjoy in Belconnen Mall. If you want a nice prime rib done right go to that other place in Civic. And as far as the service goes my cranky 113 year old Nanna with one eye who is hard of hearing could give better service! read more

Location: conveniently located in Westfield belconnen, lots of parking Atmosphere: nice layout, family friendly from what I can see (I don't have kids) nice big booth seats for big crowds. Service: we were instantly greeted by a waitress who promptly set us up a table ( they were quite busy). Our orders were taken in a timely manner. All the girls who serviced us were great. Food: we both ordered the all you can eat ribs and wings. The deal is you get a combination of beef , lamb, pork ribs and chicken wings and chips. You can't progress until you have finished all of the first plate. This kind of sucked because I'm not a fan of beef or lamb ribs. And we both went there with the mindset that we would be getting pork ribs only. Nevermind, our bad. Our first plates arrived. Unfortunately I only got one pork rib which was cold and half a rack each of the lamb and beef. The chicken wings were good, although I had thought it might of been a little different (again my bad) to what was served. My partner got 2 pork ribs and the same for everything else. We got through our first plates, although to be honest I didn't enjoy the bulk of my ribs and made my partner eat them so we could both get a second plate. I did mention to the waitress that the ribs weren't that great and maybe could she at least get the chef to pop an extra couple of pork ribs onto the second plate and forgo the beef and lamb ribs. She was kind enough to oblige and the second plate did contain 4 pork ribs a couple of wings and a lot of chips. The meat serving on both our second plates was significantly smaller. All in all I don't feel we got value for money and the quality of the meal was really average. I would expect a steakhouse to put alot more love onto that plate and into the ribs and not serve up what they did. We won't be coming back. Yes, they aren't cheap in general but even though the deal is cheaper than some of their mains, I at no point expect the quality of the meal to drop for a discount. read more

My partner and I have been to Outback Jacks 4 times now and tonight was super disappointing. We loved the fact that we could take our daughter there and she would get fed quickly and then spend time in the kids area while we had our dinner. Every time we had been there in the past, our meals were huge and so damn tasty, but tonight, instead of receiving a massive plate of ribs, my partner seriously ended up with 3.5 ribs on his plate, some chips and a wilted salad. My eye fillet was delicious but again, it came with a wilted salad on the side. My daughter's kids meal was tiny (and more expensive than in the past) and she was still hungry after dinner. There was no beer on tap either. I felt really sorry for the staff - they seemed to be apologetic about the whole experience. Over $100 for our family night out tonight. Not happy. And considering our waiter explained that they were now under NEW management, I doubt we'll bother going back. read more

Very friendly service, but the kitchen was SLOW! Took over 40 min to get our food out and it was cold! Prices are quite high for what you get as well. It has recently come under new ownership, but it seems that hasn't helped speed up the kitchen. read more

My partner and I got a burger each, that's was enough for us without leaving so overly full to walk back to the car. However everything else was a bit pricey so that's why we didn't get anything larger. It was a great meal however service was average. Conveniently located and much larger then expected. Overheard young staff talking about some inappropriate things though. Lucky I'm young myself so found it amusing just not professional. read more
