Ate with friends who had never been to lonesome pine and we had edemame, veggie pizza, salmon, Brussel sprouts and chowder and wild rice soup. And I can't forget the prime rib grilled cheese and cheesy potatoes. New items. Best was sandwich and potatoes. Great service too. Love the vibe in any season. Great with kids or groups. Best dinner we had on our trip. The restaurant is so cozy and cute. With twinkling lights in the rafters and animals hanging on the walls, it has an 'up-north-cabin' vibe. Came here for a night out with spouse. Host staff was wonderful. Very accommodating. Dinner left MUCH TO BE DESIRED. Over priced for what you get and the food lacked flavor profiles at the least. For my meal- I ordered baby back ribs and for a side I had fig and balsamic brussels sprouts. The ribs tasted like they were rolled in black pepper before slapped with bbq before hitting the expo line, and the Brussels showed no sign of fig- but a watery version of diluted balsamic. Both were horrible. After eating a bite of each- server came by and saw nothing consumed- and seemed fine with performance. Offered boxes for that monstrosity to be consumed at a later showing. Not happening! I hate sending food back and if the staff can't see an uneaten meal is an issue- that is on management to work on. Will not be back again. Recommend going to Crosby instead. read more

What a fabulous night with friends and fantastic food! Lonesome Pine is off the beaten path in exactly the right way! It's a rustic but comfortable hideaway in the north woods that offers excellent food and cocktails with an ambiance that yells CABIN! A group of 8 of us scored a table on Friday evening and enjoyed a variety of steaks, chicken, ribs and fish - very generous servings and every single dish was delicious. The Lonesome Pine Prime Rib that wound up in my plate was truly sensational. Seasoned well, prepared like a traditional prime, and then quick-seared. The cheesy-hashbrowns and baked potatoes were so satisfying. Even the dinner salad was good - bountiful plate of delicious! Our Old Fashioned's hit the spot as did the delicious Montepulciano wine. The table shared (devoured) the carrot cake! Our wait-person Cara was spot-on with her service of the somewhat sassy table - would have loved to take her along on the weekend lake trip because she was a fun soul! Add to that the fact that she gave us great food advice and kept up with us! The chef/owner also stopped and chatted twice for a few minutes sharing some of the history of the place and making sure everything was done right (and it was!). We ordered Mother's Day dinners for take-out (virus rules) last night. Placed the order in advance based on specials promoted on their Facebook page. After a short wait at our scheduled time, our food came out hot and fresh. Ordered the Lobster Ravioli, the Smoked Jerk Chicken & Ribs, along with a Blooming Onion and s couple of bowls of their Chicken & Wild Rice soup. First the portions are ample, the sides were all fresh and the quality of the food was fantastic. Certainly the best in this area (Garrison-Aitkin-Crosby). They included a small Chocolate Molten Cake for the Mother's, but we also ordered their Double Chocolate and Carrot Cake slices. Well, slice may be an understatement! These are HUGE pieces. Less can be more. Shrink the menu, and become known as a specialty restaurant in certain things. To me, your prices are kind of high, but I know bringing in fresh meat/fish can be costly. So, make it worth it. I would start by surveying summer customers and full year customers, what do they like and want.? I will happily pay more for a Good meal, but not an average meal, I am a pretty good cook, so , I will cook my own. Please, under ambiance, don't act like Lonesome Pine is some uppity place to eat.I don't care that you are on Bay Lake, if your clients are so influenced by that,'then your restaurant is Not for those of us that don't live on Bay Lake. This is a fantastic restaurant nestled in on Bay Lake! Josh runs a wonderful establishment, and you will meet him when you visit as he is a true host! You can access the Pine by car or boat.
