What a lunch. We ended up here after a drive around Northern Sardinia. I was a bit skeptical of…read morethe marina atmosphere but once stepping in, we were brought into a homey and cozy space. The menu featured a variety of local seafood and house made pasta. For me, the standout was the local specialty of fregola made with saffron and the local thin bread baked with rosemary (carasau). My husband's appetizer portion of seafood stew had oysters, clams, langoustines...so good. Our host picked out a nice bottle of local Vermintino that complimented our lunch well. We were finished off with house pours of mirto, the local liquer made from the myrtle plant.

I would have gone back there many, many nights if we hadn't found the restaurant on our last. I love when we sent our compliments to the chef, our waiter said, I will be happy to let my mom know. A couple of recommendations on food were the Mussels as a starter, Ravioli with a sweet Onion Sauce (I dream about this one - but it was a special of the day and sadly not on the menu), and the John Dory for our main. Really ridiculously wonderful place from top to bottom. Our hotel had a habit of liking to send us to their brother's, cousin's and sister's restaurants and always deterred us from going anywhere they didn't want us to by complaining about how far it was. On a map, Porto Rotondo said it was about 40-45 mins from Porto Cervo where we stayed but it was really a quick and beautiful 20-25 minute drive. Don't be dissuaded - it's worth the drive from anywhere in Costa Smeralda.

Came here for dinnerlast night with the family. We started with appetizers: baby octopus, red,…read moreshrimp, ceviche. Our second course consisted of, lobster, pasta, uni pasta and a calamari risotto. Our final course was a whole, roasted Dorado, serve with green beans, roasted potatoes, and capers. Unfortunately, we were so full from all the appetizers and pasta's that we couldn't fully appreciate the fish. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was excellent.

We've frequented here a few times, and the food and service has been wonderful each time. Despite the fact that they were more than overbooked last weekend for the Quantum sailing race, service was efficient and servers were friendly, albeit a bit frenzied. After the regatta, it was much more low-keyed and filled with locals. It was obvious that some of the customers lived in the area and knew each other, and that many the patrons were regulars who have summered in the Porto Cervo for years. I'd suggest ordering the seafood here. It's pricier, but so fresh and so good. The seafood salad was loaded with generous portions of tender fresh octopus, and is my favorite dish here. It's technically an appetizer, but plenty enough for an entree. The lobster spaghetti came with a half of a lobster tail and a massive amount of pasta (though a tad salty). I'd pass on the calzone, which had a nice chewy edging, but pales in comparison to their seafood. This is Sardinia after all, right?! If you're coming towards the beginning or end of the summer season, call in advance to get their hours. The majority of shops and restaurants in Porto Cervo operate on a seasonal basis just as resorts in the East Coast do, like Martha's Vineyard, Stone Harbor and the Hamptons (my personal favorite, of course, since that's where I got engaged!). Again, come for the seafood here, along with the convivial atmosphere. It's a gem in Porto Cervo Marina.
