While my formal training is in middle school years, the basic principles around things such as (1) family engagement (2) class observation templates (3) teacher development (4) clear & consistent behavior support plans etc. share standard expectations. I deeply respect the teachers and educators for their work. But without most basic structures and systems mentioned above from leadership, there will continue to be gaps. Outside of the leadership structure, it was concerning was how frequently students changed. Student persistence was especially low in my sons class. The rate of change in teaching staff and the lack of communication around the changes is of concern. I would show up and ask who an adult in the room was and would be told "oh that's XYZ, they've been working with us for a week". But I had had zero communication about this adult being in the room. Or, because parents aren't allowed in the class, I would receive an email "effective tomorrow X teacher is no longer in Y class". Kids need consistency and reliability.

I really look forward to my "Special Days", where I get to spend the day in the classroom with my daughter, chat with her friends and see what goes on in her school. Then when she comes home talking about her day or her friends, I really know what or who she is talking about and it's wonderful to share that world with her. My third child is now in the 3's class, with Miss Susan and Miss Lisa. I can't say enough about their love and respect for our children as little people. Education is play-based, always with humor and understanding, and in the spirit of fun. Family events are organized regularly, and we remain friends with families whose children have moved on to elementary school. The wonderful teachers will take the children out of the car at the start of school and put them back in at the end of school. Parents never need to leave their cars! My daughter is very shy and was hesitant to start school. After one day at the Gingham Giraffe Preschool, she could not wait to go back! She loved it so much that we decided to send her an additional day. My husband and I truly feel blessed to have our daughter in such an amazing preschool! The class is so fun and the songs so catchy. Each semester includes a new CD with songs from class and we listen to them at home all the time. I REALLY appreciate that they aren't your typical cliche kid songs, they are cool enough that I find myself humming them all the time. It has been wonderful to watch him gain love and appreciation for music and instruments. He went through a drumming phase and requested a guitar for his 3rd birthday. It was his only birthday request and is so proud of it. He sits us down for concerts and it's just the sweetest! I really can't thank Michael and his team enough.

The main exercise area is newly renovated and has an EGYM circuit which is like regular machines except it knows where you are in training and sets the weights automatically. Best I've seen anywhere. Conventional machines available too. Lots of treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and rowers. With som flexibility there is no waiting off peak and even at peak wait is not a problem. Free weights are in a separate area as is a smaller area for TRX and stretching. I haven't used the pools, classes or courts but are all first rate. Parking, especially close to the door is limited, but hey you're going to the GYM. Haven't had much to do with the staff. No complaints. No towel service anymore. Locker room is ok and has a sauna. There is a physical therapy practice located within the Y too. Overall highly recommend.
