I was able to buy some fresh fruits and veggies, and some peach applesauce that I'm excited to try. The market has fresh caught seafood, eggs, meats, teas, cheese, pizza, pumpkins, and some really killer cider. Glad I got the smaller jug because I finished it all in one sitting. So tasty! Careful when you plug in the directions. The address on yelp takes you to the fire house when the market is indoors for winter, which it will be soon. Currently it's in the parking lot at the military museum. The weather was stunning today so I'm glad I caught it before it moved.

The vendors for a smaller market, were abundant, fresh pasta, mead, veggies, produce, pizza, honey, goat products, and a few bakery items. Huge compliments out to the organizers, it was amazing to have someone welcome you, and thank you, as you left the market. All vendors were friendly, whose stands that I visited and helpful. The gentleman that sold the Goat products, I do hope in the future to buy; as he was kind enough to call to find out stores in Altoona that sold their product. Highly recommend, Crumbkowski, Christina who is the pastry chef and owner, had an amazing set up, allowing customers to sample little pieces, buy whole squares, in addition to cookies and muffins. The Amish stand that had homemade potato chips, were out of this world; I'm sorry I didn't buy more to freeze. Great atmosphere and hope to return next time in town. My mom and I go to pick strawberries every year, this year we went to way fruit farm. We were told…read morethat strawberries were abundant and there were multiple fields. When we went out, the fields were full of weeds and hard to walk through. Furthermore, there almost no strawberries and if there were any they were the size of a thumbnail. We were very disappointed and sad so we decided to go into the farms store to just buy a couple bins. To our surprise they were almost $9 for one. We ended up spending $60 on strawberries, which is by far the most we have ever spent. I was extremely disgruntled.

Honestly, not much has changed... and that's part of the charm. One place I had to revisit was the Belleville Market, held only on Wednesdays. It's a real slice of small-town Americana, with a strong Amish presence that adds to its unique character (you'll see them in some of the photos I posted). As a kid, my favorite treat was always the Amish Whoopie pies, and yes, they're still just as massive and delicious as I remember, and only $1.25 each! You can't beat that. Parking is free, but fair warning: it fills up fast. This market is popular with locals and visitors alike, so plan to arrive early. In addition to the produce stands and baked goods, there's a large flea market and a livestock auction. We didn't explore those parts this time, but it's definitely worth spending a morning here to soak it all in. If you're in the area on a Wednesday, don't miss it.

The number of people there selling goods was small, maybe about 7 booths. There was some sort of meat booth, eggs, plants, cupcakes/sweets, kombucha, fresh produce/candles, and eggs. I love that everything is local and everyone was super sweet. We bought a bunch of kombucha, a coconut cupcake, and a soy candle. It was a lovely outing.

The upstairs section has small specialty shops; the lower level is full of food vendors -- from produce to fresh pasta to tacos to pizza to pierogies to quiches. They also even had plant stands and floral arrangements. I got 1.5lbs of fresh made spinach fettuccine from Fasta & Ravioli, two very tasty bagels from Bagel Lovers (foccacia flavored and everything egg bagels--both were SO delicious and a great texture; they also had tons of other varieties like pumpernickel, onion, and blueberry, all made fresh daily and for a very reasonable price -- I think I paid something around $3 for my two bagels). I could've spent tons more time there but unfortunately was just stopping by after running an errand in the area. Needless to say, I will be back!!
