We stayed 3 nights recently at Long Mountain Lodge and had a great time. The bed was comfortable, the views expansive, and Don couldn't have been more welcoming. Each day brought a different breakfast, with a good variety of fruits, sweets, eggs and veggies. Don also was serving a gluten free muffin for another guest, and eggs for someone else, so he is accommodating. It's a few minutes to drive into the town of Dahlonega, with the winding roads and slow speeds, but still close enough. It was a bit confusing to turn into the driveway then wind up the path to the lodge, but there are signs to help. The driveway is a bit steep and I wouldn't want to go up if it was snowing in our little car! Enough parking for everyone and plenty of common rooms. There is a fridge and microwave on the first floor, and was a mini fridge in our room. It's about 45 minutes to Helen, GA and more affordable. I'd book the lodge again! read more

Long Mountain Lodge Bed and Breakfast is our favorite place to stay when we visit the Dahlonega area because of its location, gourmet breakfast, service, cleanliness, ambiance, and so much more. This lodge is family run, and they really put their heart and soul into it. Don is the perfect host, and was always available to answer questions and make recommendations. The Dahlonega area has so much to offer, like wine tasting, great restaurants, beautiful hiking trails (Appellation Trail), shopping, fishing, mining for gems and gold (highest quality gold in the world), gold mine tours, and the list goes on, and for us the Long Mountain Lodge is in the center of it all. Our room was very spacious, clean, beautifully decorated in a mountain theme, and had an amazing view from our patio, where we hung out every evening, sipping wine and champagne, watching the sun set. read more

My boyfriend and I drove from Amelia Island, FL to the small town of Dahlonega, GA to stay at the Long Mountain Lodge and it was well worth the drive. This lodge is so cozy and the views are breathtaking. This was our first time ever staying at a lodge and we were nervous because of COVID. The staff went above and beyond with all their precautions, everyone wore masks and everything was very sanitary. The breakfast was different every morning and was delicious! My favorite part was making a tea from their complementary tea bar and then taking my mug outside to relax on the porch. The bath tub in our room was huge and had jets! Our stay was so relaxing and I cannot wait to come back and stay here again. 10/10 read more

Truly couldn't recommend this sweet B&B highly enough. Our room was cozy and clean, the view from the back porch was beautiful, and the breakfast was incredible. We made a mistake in our reservations and Dianne graciously and quickly solved our problem, all while overseeing that morning's breakfast preparation. Our room, Winding Stair Gap, had a King bed, beautiful fireplace, large bathtub with jets, as well as a TV and plenty of cozy seating options. There were homemade cookies, white wine, and a cheese plate waiting for us in our room upon arrival. Again, I really can't speak highly enough of the Long Mountain Lodge! read more

Nestled away off the highway, away from 3G and 4G cell coverage is a quaint bed and breakfast. I was in town to visit several wineries and found this lodge online. I believe there are about 7-10 rooms within the lodge. When we arrived, there were some Toll House chocolate chip cookies and a coffee/tea/wine/juice station. The lady who welcomes us, Carolyn was the sweetest thing ever! When she welcomed us the night of arrival and the next morning to breakfast, she was so genuine and it was like we'd known her all our lives. She's a jewel! We stayed in the Quinn Mountain room, which was nice. Be advised that the tub is small and not really "built for two". A 5'2 and 5'7 could not fit into the tub nor into the shower together comfortably. The mattress was a bit more firm that I am accustomed to and thus, poor sleep and a crick in my neck. However, a trip to Monteluce Winery the next day loosened me up quickly. The room was clean and quiet. The bathroom towels and bathrobes were thick and luxurious. The breakfast the next morning was excellent. The same sweet lady and her husband, who was a doll, prepared coffee and juices, a fresh fruit cup, banana/blueberry muffins, sausages, and Belgian waffles. Everything was homemade and delicious. We dined on a screened in porch and watched hummingbirds. The ambience is the real attraction. They have Wi-Fi and Direct TV in the rooms. I do recommend this lodge and would stay again, just in another room. read more

Highly recommended!! The view was beautiful, the room was cozy and the fireplace was wonderful. But most of all was the Breakfast!! This wasn't your typical eggs and bacon. The inn keeper has culinary and baking experience and treats her guests to a first class, five star breakfast!! The B&B is close to many of Dahlonega's best vineyards including Monteluce. We will likely use the Long Mountain Lodge to house some guests when we get married at Monteluce next summer! read more

Great getaway. Location is perfect because it is just outside of Dahlonega. The B&B is perfectly tucked away with a beautiful view of the mountain range. Our room was cozy with a fireplace. Breakfast every day was a delicious delight. The inn keeper, Don, was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and gave great advice on which places to visit. I recommend staying here. We stayed at the Long Mountain Lodge B&B at the recommendation of a friend. We were not disappointed. As soon as we walked in, we felt like family. Our room, the Long Mountain Suite, was so clean and cozy. The real fireplace, which was stocked with plenty of logs, was a nice treat after a long day of travel Sitting on the deck on the Adirondack chair as the sun set over the mountains was so relaxing. Breakfast was out of this world good. It's a multi-course eating extravaganza that engages all of your senses. A friend and I stayed at the B&B after a day of winery tours. The staff help set up our tours and lunch as well as all of our transportation. The B&B was super cozy, clean and so relaxing. What a beautiful B & B! We stayed in the Quinn suite and it was very spacious and lovely. They thought of everything we would need and it was there waiting for us (Kleenex, wine bottle opener, fridge, alarm clock, comfy soft sheets, stationary...). Don checked us in and we were so happy to get to visit with him throughout our stay. He was very helpful with advice about hikes and places to go in Dahlonega. Besides our beautiful room with its private entrance and porch (great for your morning coffee), the lodge has a library, a lake with fish in it and a great long porch with a spectacular view of the sunset over the mountains. The grounds are beautiful with a lovely wooded path leading down to the lake and horse shoe pit. The three course breakfast with a wide variety of juices and fabulous fresh ground coffee was excellent and varied each day. Hopefully you will be there on the day they serve yeast-risen waffles. We had never had those before and they are outstanding. The breakfast is large, almost enough to hold you over until they serve cheese, crackers and chocolate chip cookies with spiced tea in the late afternoon. Some other guests who were there had been B &B owners and they commented on how special Long Mountain Lodge is! We look forward to returning soon! read more

We spent two nights .it was very comfortable and cozy. We had books to read , lots of tea to choose from , Keurig coffee machines in the room and down stairs . They also cleaned our room and the bed . I have to say Dienne made the best breakfast every morning . So far it was like home away from home ... I will highly recommend this place read more

The most amazing place to stay!!!! I have traveled all over the world and Don at Long Mountain Lodge B&B was one of the best hosts I have ever experienced!!! The lodge is set on a hill with an amazing view of the North Georgia mountains. Everything about this place is quaint, authentic, comfortable and inviting, including your host Don!! From the three course breakfasts to the double rocker with the blanket available for your lap while you view the sunset, this place is amazing. Our room had a nice big tub and separate shower, a fireplace with candles inside that you could light and a comfy four poster bed. Don was so helpful and kind and offered great suggestions on what to do in the area (including hand written maps to the local attractions). He also very generously offered us a half price discount being that we were Irma evacuees, but I would pay more than season price to return to this amazing retreat and be able to experience Don's hospitality again!!! Just went there for one night this weekend. Our daughter gave us a wine and dine package for a gift. They arranged transportation to three wineries where we had quite generous tastings and had a thoroughly wonderful day. The room was cozy and rustic and the owners were awesome. More wine and snacks in the afternoon there and dinner in the town square. Breakfast next day was so delicious!! What a magnificent setting in the mountains!! It's all about location, location, location. Let me tell you all, and I found this jewel celebrating our one-year dating anniversary and just went back for a family vacation. We were AMAZED by the mountain vista, jetted tubs, cozy robes, and log fireplaces. However, what really makes the Lodge 10 for 10 (without even discussing the STELLAR, bring elastic pants breakfasts) are the people. Innkeeper Don can find you the best hike and the most delicious burger. Glo is always ready with more of this or to grab that for you. Owner Diane is the mastermind of the menu and Owner Tim is the silent ninja, refilling wood and water bottles. So many times, G and I would say "this would be perfect if we had X" only to turn and find X next to us or tucked away nearby. These people know their business and do it well. You will not go wrong with a weekend at the Lodge or time at the Cabins, situated right next to beautiful waterfalls. All this is a mere hour away from Atlanta! read more

We LOVE this place. The Lodge and the grounds are perfectly suited for relaxation and privacy, yet plenty of "common areas" to have great conversations with other guests if you want to do so. Dianne, Tim and Don, as well as the staff, are the perfect hosts. Impeccably clean and great breakfasts and afternoon snacks. Love the beds. Conveniently located near the town of Dahlonega and several wineries (what a pleasant surprise they were!). We were there last August and came back again in April. This is a great B&B near Dahlonega. We stayed in the Whissenhut room and had a little outside deck with table & chairs. There is a nice short walking path to a little lake on the property. The breakfast is very, very good. It was served out on the screened porch, tables set up for couples and your meal is brought out in 3 courses. Upon arrival they have fresh cookies and also a wine/cheese hour. Simple and nice. Tim provided a great map of hikes in the area and we really enjoyed that. I give it 4 instead of 5 because when we go to Dahlonega we prefer to be IN Dahlonega. BUT if you want a great get away, you won't be disappointed. read more

We enjoyed 2 wonderful nights at this B&B. Close enough to the square in Dahlonega to access it easily but far enough away to have a quiet retreat overlooking the mountains and surrounded by nature. The breakfasts were extraordinary and we also enjoyed the wine and cheese that they put out for the guests on one of the nights. The hosts are friendly and often available for suggestions as to where to go or just to chat. Our room was plenty large enough to relax and was very clean. Directions sounded a bit complicated but were very very easy. There are 6 rooms in the lodge (each for one or two adults) plus two cabins that are suitable for families (the fantastic breakfasts are not included for the cabin guests).
