The club itself has clean, well kept facilities however the current board is biased against…read moredivorced and blended families. I pay for a family membership and was told that my long term girlfriend that I live with was not considered family and therefore she could only attend for an additional fee as a long term houseguest. I then asked to be switched to a single membership and the president informed me that I could not. Basically, they want the revenue for a family membership but only allow me to attend. There are other unmarried families that attend the club however they are not subjected to the same regulations for some reason. I was also told by The president that they do not check marriage licenses but would check mine in the future if I decided to get married and wanted to bring my wife. The clubs policies are capricious and arbitrary. The snack bar is operated by a third party and has become expensive, with poor service and poor quality food. The chicken tenders for example are processed chicken paste. I don't love giving that kind of food to my kids. The lifeguards are generally pretty good but some of them seem disengaged and I have occasionally seen some of them on smartphones. They are very cognizant about people touching the lane lines!

I use to joke if Christians ever had a dispute we would resolve our differences by playing a game of ping pong, or as I liked to yell before I slammed the ball over the net. "In your face in Jesus name, Amen!" :) Thanks to my good friend Pat I was introduced to WTTC. I never knew this place existed, let alone the 19 tables available for play at a whopping $10 a person on the weekend from open to close. The price includes use of the paddles and balls. If you want a good workout let me tell you something, we were sweating up a storm. There are some serious players here and coaches who train with passion. These players are fully immersed in the sport. I watched in awe at the skill level these players play at. If you want to learn the game or hone your skills, WTTC can help with private coaching. The coaches from what I see are really good as they put there students through the paces and drills. I heard there are tournaments held here. WTTC is a Table Tennis players dream. You are immersed in a world of lovers of the sport. In this clean, well maintained, multi-tabled facility, lessons are available to all skill levels or you can just be a spectator and watch a tournament of the worlds top ranked players of the sport. Norwalk Cove Marina offers 18 holes of miniature golf for $9 per adult. You won't find any…read morewindmills, loop-de-loops, or other fun obstacles on this course; rather, rocks placed in the middle of holes, "bunkers" and "rough" (made of longer artificial grasses), and the slopes and bricks shaping each hole are what will challenge your score. In a sense, it's a much more golf-like version of miniature golf that tests good putters who can plan their shots and use good touch to get putts close. And the staff has kept the course in good shape. While I enjoyed the challenge, I feel like there is a missed opportunity here to make this course really fun and memorable. Not many mini-golf courses are located on a marina, so even if there were more boat/ocean/anchor/seashell-type decorations around the course (even if management didn't want to change the layout of the course), I think it would feel more enjoyable.

If it wasn't so hot that day we would've loved to have taken advantage of the playground and beach area. Since it's not too far from NYC, it looks like we are going to add this spot on our list of places to come back to one day soon!
