What a fantastic experience! I've been wanting to visit this blueberry farm for a couple of years…read morenow. They were open this past Friday at 7:30 am. It was perfect timing for this early riser. Do check their posted seasonal u-pick schedule on their website or FB before making a special trip. Blueberry season typically starts in April and runs into May. The dates are posted weekly. It was easy to find and very close to Valrico. Especially if you're coming from Lithia Pinecrest Rd. There's a pathway that leads you to the parking lot once you get to Neal Rd. It's a short walk to the covered barn where you will receive your bucket. Just tie it tight around your waist so that it doesn't fall under the weight of the blueberries. The bucket holds up to 6 lbs. It's such a well organized process. The farm is huge. There were at least 10 families there, and I rarely saw them. There were so many beautifully ripe blueberries ready to be picked. The Jewel clusters of berries seem to fall right off when you touch them. Be sure to cup your hands underneath it. The Emerald variety is larger and tend to stay clustered together. I picked a mixture of both varieties. Before I knew it, the bucket was halfway filled. It was such a fun experience! So much so, that I'm hoping to do it again before the end of the season. It's such a happy place! The ladies who run it are so friendly & kind. They're even selling local honey from Sam's Honey Bees. Everything is so delicious! I also appreciated the shoe scraping & hand washing stations. Again, everything is so organized. It's a must if you're looking for great blueberries and/or a great family experience. Just do it. You'll be rewarded with fresh berries, and a peaceful retreat from urban life.

I went to their website and signed up for their newsletter, which was helpful because they sent out notice saying they would be open the upcoming weekend with hours of operation. I went early on Saturday morning, arriving about 9 am, and they were already busy. Fortunately, they have a huge field of blueberry plants: both Jewel and Emerald. They are also super organized which I love: someone directed me where to park and then I went to main building next to the field where I was handed a bucket with strings on it to tie around my waist in order to leave both hands free for picking. I picked a few pounds in no time, and checkout was fast and easy. They had short sleeve and long sleeve shirts for sale, but they were out of their baseball caps. So, even though this was a bit of a haul from Tampa, it was definitely worth the drive.

My mother, best friend and I had a horribly poor experience going to tour this venue. My tour…read morelasted a total of 15 minutes, with little to no extra information provided. They stated that we have probably seen it on their social media & they'd resend me the pamphlet we had already been given. We felt as a huge inconvenience to them secondary to minimal worded responses to our questions and being on their phone half of the 15 minutes. The chapel is beautiful, however, there are so many beautiful venues. Social media is not everything it appears to be here. After talking to others about my experience, others have also not had the best things to say about their experiences here. We have also yet to receive a response to our voicemails or email since Monday. Extremely disheartening.

I would strongly recommend couples steer clear of this venue…read more There are several points I will advise future patrons on regarding this business. I may be a bit biased due to the fact I'm not at all happy with their behavior towards us and their fraudulent self-identification of Christian values. Make sure to read the contract, it's easy to misinterpret important pieces. There is a clause in the cancellation policy that states you must give a minimum of 6 months' notice, a handwritten letter from the couple giving up the date. You will not receive a return of payments upon cancellation until someone else schedules the same event package on the same date. That's if it happens "If ever," otherwise, there is no return of the couple's funds. Southern Grace's responsibility is to try with their "best efforts" to schedule the date. Also, they must inform you if anyone does. More to come on those best efforts later. Personal Anecdote: My husband and I scheduled with Southern Grace in August 2023 for a wedding on December 8th 2024. We found a home we love in October of 2023. We tried for a long time to make the financial situation work, but my husband's mental health wasn't doing well. So, we had to make a hard choice between the wedding we (I) wanted, and the home we were fortunate to find. The important and proper choice was the home, so we decided that. We reached out to Southern grace as soon as we decided this, which was in December of 2023. I emailed Kaitlin and gave her the same explanation. I also expressed our disappointment with having to cancel, but it wasn't something we wanted to do. We'd paid them about $6700, including the $500 save-the-date deposit. I was then reminded to send the handwritten letter, which I did in December of 2023, well over 6 months' notice. We only had 5 months of contact with them till we decided we couldn't pay anymore. All that we received at this time from them were package details, our only tour, and emails sent to us saying that they received each of our checks. So that has my husband and I pretty upset. We can't even afford to have a party to celebrate our marriage. They've got all our wedding funds. It's disappointing how many people are in this particular business and has no emotional attachment to the business itself or the patrons, just the money. Weddings are supposed to be a very personal business, not commercialized for greed. The Family that owns this business seem detached from the business itself. Kaitlin, the individual we are required to contact, only through email, is rude. Every response she has ever given to my husband, myself, and the CPA agent comes only as quotes from the contract and the same robotic answers. Answers saying they will "continue to keep us updated regarding our date", which they have never actively done. Every time I receive an email from Kaitlin it is a response, never initiated by her. Kaitlin's response typically takes 3-7 days to receive, except for the one time I openly requested a response within the day. No information has been volunteered to us besides the same quote from a contract we and Southern Grace have. They've passed off our communications to their lawyer now since they felt threatened by my statements regarding writing a detailed review so that I may spare some future couples from this situation. Their Lawyer also takes several days to reply. We have requested in-person meetings or even phone calls to better discuss this matter long before we've got here. We have been dealing with this situation since December of 2023 and are frustrated with how long this process is taking while we're missing 6 thousand dollars of our income. It has been obvious that we're being strung along till we go away and are unabashedly ignored. They talk a lot about having Christian values. They've been interviewed by several Hillsborough & Polk county papers and have expressed their love for making couples happy above all else. On our tour, Kaitlin even told us a story about how much they care about weddings at a deeper level than just business after we agreed to go ahead with the paperwork. Since that first day, their repeated apathetic responses show no intention of finding resolve with us. We brought our case to the consumer protection agency. We shared the same information I have here with the agent. He then reached out to Kaitlin and received the same contract-quoted response we did. He informed us that due to the nature of their response, we would be either forced to forget about it or go through the legal system. It is a shame, perhaps even predatory, that a business would instigate a legal matter, confident that most don't have the means or will to see it through. This is a business that is purely a business and should not claim to have aligned itself with theological morals that they don't practice the chapel is just a non-air-conditioned replicate of another chapel in Tennessee (That's what they tell you), nothing more.
