However on the one occasion I was dragged here by friends it was actually an ok night, the toilets were clean lol which is a first for the social clubs I have been in previously (I was also dragged to these!!), the staff were friendly and the customers were too. Tells stories of Looe's Fishing history, ship building etc The Old Guildhall is Looe's oldest building!!! Dating around 1500. It is a Tudor building once magistrates court and cells. Right outside you can see a huge Cannon which I believe was from the Spanish Armada. The Cannon used to be infront of a Cafe on the seafront but in recent years has been moved to the Old Guildhall, which serves as a nifty resting place on a drunken Saturday night when you want to rest your feet before heading to Looe's one and only 'nightclub' (see picture) :D

This cinema is right in the city centre, behind the Theatre Royal & has multi story carpark next door. At £2.75 for weekday tickets & £3.75 for weekend tickets its almost half the price of the Vue. The staff here are lovely & nothing is too much - has much more of a personal feel than the more modern cinemas around. Caters for childrens parties which i have not tried yet - but plan to do later in the year for daughters birthday

Although this cinema is alot older than the other more modern cinema in plymouth, it has a really…read morewarm cosy feeling. The surroundings may not be world class in terms of sound, but just being in a cinema that has been around for decades is a real honour to sometimes go to. It is alot cheaper than the other cinema and feel that people need to keep coming else it might be closed down - which would be a real shame. So if you like a traditional cinema - this is the place to be, always very clean and tidy.

There is a mock up cell to see and lots of hand painted garden ornaments made in the prison itself. A nice day out when added to a walk on the moors and a pub lunch. Never was a new cinema anticipated as much as this one. after months of apparent inaction on the…read morebuilding site suddenly St Austell's long awaited cinema opened its doors just in time for Christmas, with hundreds of local people losing bets that it would never open in time. How wrong we were - the building is modern, crisp, a vast improvement on the old cinema. Sweets, ice-creams and popcorn are reassuringly expensive (so stock up beforehand in your local supermarket) and there is a social bar area where you can meet up with friends before seeing your chosen film. We found the seats comfortable, roomy, spacious - overall a surprise! The carpets are a bit 70s but can't have everything. There isn't any parking nearby yet but it means you have plenty of time to discuss the film on the way back to your car. In summary, a pleasant surprise, a real treat for St Austell, and one we will go to again and again!

The prices are reasonable though not the cheapest, I often do block bookings as you tend to get one session free. The food is fairly reasonably and good, though I tend to brings my own drinks as it can work expensive with fruit shoots at a £1 a time. There is a large car park so it is fairly easy to park. The toilets are clean and they have baby changing facilities. There is a light sensory room in the younger childrens section, as well as a ball pool, little playhouses, slide, tunnel and various other toys. In the older childrens section they have bouncy castle slides, plus a very large slide, rope ladders, ball pools, tunnels, and best of all everything is padded to avoid any accidents. There is a climbing wall and they are often painting faces and giving out balloons.

We went for a day trip to Polperro and saw this museum and decided to visit it. It was very…read moreinteresting and an impressive collection of artefacts from the smuggling history. There was also a lot of information about the history of fishing and the methods and tools used. They also had a lot of old (1800s) photographs which were nice. There were some stories about smugglers, ship models, some old news clippings and more. I really enjoyed the visit and learned a lot.
