We love every single thing about this magical place. We searched for a long time to find a preschool that was truly play-based and centered on a true understanding and respect for developmental levels. The second we stepped inside with our (then) 2 year old, we knew we had found the perfect place for preschool. From the wooden open-ended toys, to the beautiful outside play space, LCP has so many opportunities for play based learning all day. We love the community that comes with a parent participation preschool. But what truly makes this school amazing is the incredible teachers- who are so patient, positive, supportive and fun. My two children talk about them all daily and are so excited to see them each school day. LCP has created a love for school in my kiddos that is such a wonderful introduction to education. I can see how it is laying the foundation for a lifelong love of school and learning, and we can't recommend it highly enough. read more

I LOVE this school. Our toddler was able to connect with his teacher and the kids. He is was an only child, so this was great socialization for him. He got to PLAY and learn at the same time. We as parents were also taught how to be with our kids so that they learn how to share and participate in art, science, and other amazing activities. He always came home singing songs and couldn't wait to go back next week. We are looking forward to the following year. Pinch me!!!! Did I really find a preschool this amazing?! Yes I did! I can't express how much my family loves this school!!! I'm a very dedicated mommy and wanted a preschool that offered a free play curriculum, but also provided some structure. LCP does a beautiful job blending both ideals. The children have VARIOUS choices every single day, but also participate in 2 circle times that each present different types of activities and listening opportunities. The children learn the months of the year, read books, sing songs and are encouraged to share about themselves and their families. The teachers make every single activity fun, exciting and somewhat challenging. I love that the school is a co-op and all the parents work as a team! It's always comforting to be around individuals that can relate to your everyday experiences. The school's director Robinee, is as sweet and caring as they come. Although she teaches her own class, she still will make the time to connect with the parents and children in every class(and to me that speaks volumes about her dedication). Teacher Kellie is the teacher for my son's 2 day class, and let's just say I feel blessed!!! Teacher Kellie is GREAT WITH KIDS AND PARENTS!!!!!! Kellie is playful, hilarious, engaging, sensitive and thoughtful. All the kids LOVE her. My son takes quite awhile to warm up to most individuals, but he can't go one day without mentioning his Teacher Kellie ‼All I can say is that if you are a mom that's ambivalent about trusting a school with your precious children... then look no further. LCP is constantly enriching the lives of children, and parents wise enough to notice! I only wish I had known about the school when my older child was preschool age!!!!!!!! read more

Loomis Community Preschool is the best parent cooperative preschool in the area. They are a play-based preschool that allows children to experience the world through various activities. We loved this school! Two of our children went to preschool here and our third will be going back in the fall. They have a wonderful shaded playground, with a sandbox, track for the trikes, swings and playhouse. The kids are encouraged to learn through playing and exploring, with the gentle encouragement from their teachers and parents working in the classroom. Each class is like it's own small family - MUCH different than our experience with the City of Rocklin Preschool! read more

My brother and I attended as children and have nothing but fond memories of our experience, teachers, and lifelong friends from Loomis Community Nursery School (as it was formerly named). After living out of the area for several years, we moved back last fall with a preschool-aged child. Naturally, this was the first place we checked out, after looking at many schools elsewhere before moving, and we never looked back. The play based environment allows children to explore the world around them and learn from it at their own place, while the teachers are experienced, supportive, and creative. The parent participation aspect only strengthens the learning environment, as it creates a caring community of families. I cannot more whole-heartedly recommend this preschool. read more

I knew the first day we visited LCP that it was the place for us. My son loves his school-- his teacher, the activities, everything (well, except washing his hands--ha!). In the year and a half he's attended, he has learned so much and been exposed to so many concepts and experiences that I would never have imagined, let alone implemented on my own. Not only that but his social skills have improved dramatically (kind of a big deal since he's an only child). I have also learned many strategies to employ when dealing with the conflicts that are bound to crop up with preschoolers; working in the classroom has definitely made me a better parent. I love watching my son develop trusting relationships with the other adults who work in his class, and begin developing friendships. I could go on and on, but if you want to be an active part of a safe, caring, supportive community, and watch your child grow socially and academically, LCP is a great place to be. read more

I am a CA credential teacher and have a masters degree in education. I've been a classroom teacher for 12 years. My B.A. is also in Developmental Psychology and I've even worked abroad as a teacher to gain insight on different pedagogies. I've searched far and wide for the perfect preschool and between my several children, who have attended various preschools (due to a couple of relocations and other situations), Loomis Community Preschool (also known as "LCP") is by far, THE BEST preschool that my child and I have ever been a part of. My youngest child began attending this school when she was 3 years old. From day one, my typically withdrawn, shy, and apprehensive child blossomed and came into her own, immediately feeling welcomed and embraced. The parent community is so friendly and positive, working in the classroom is like being on a play-date with friends. The curriculum fosters learning through exploration, science experiments, art, music and relationship development. The community is incredibly warm and inviting and accepting and embracing to children and families of all walks of life. My child has never been so happy before. We, BOTH have made life-long friendships. Yes, it is a parent-participation school and yes, there are requirements to work in the classroom and other hours outside of school. However, being a part of this school is like having an extended family. Everyone truly cares about you, your family and the growth, development and education of your child. It's worth it. I HIGHLY recommend Loomis Community Preschool, you will not be disappointed! We highly valued our time at Loomis Community Preschool. At first I was drawn to it because I had always wanted to try a parent-participation preschool. Second, the prices are undeniably affordable. What I came to find out was that the preschool really does create a community among the families in the school and engages with the local community. This is an amazing and special school. My youngest daughter has attended Loomis Community Preschool for the past year, and she has loved her experience. Prior to this school, my daughter attended a different preschool. We changed schools when we found out she was being bullied due to lack of supervision. Upon starting at Loomis Community Preschool, we saw a drastic and immediate change in our daughter. She became excited about going to school, and her personality started to shine though. At her previous school, she seldom talked. At Loomis, she has become an absolute chatterbox! Our daughter LOVES going to school now, and is always talking about "Sparkle School" (her nickname for Loomis Community Preschool). I am a College Administrator with experience managing preschools, so I know quality when I see it. The play based curriculum and teaching and learning that happens at this school is top notch. Another positive of the school is the parent participation structure of the school. Having parents involved not only enhances learning in the classroom, but creates a community of parents.
