We could hear a little noise from the room above us, specifically when they were walking around, but it was fairly minor. The office staff were friendly and welcoming. It was a self check in process, which was fine, but there was literally no one there at all. We dropped our bags in the room and then proceeded to check out the house. We sat in the living room for a bit. Still nobody there, except another couple who seemed to be looking around just like us. We returned to our room, and when I sat on the bed I was overcome by a horrendous odor. We peeled the covers back and tried to determine what this could be. It was so bad that we were no longer planning to stay. It was like old, musty and mildewy. Really gross. We gathered our stuff and left; still never seeing anyone who might work there. I called the # and had to leave a message. I sent an email. The reply said they would look into the matter and we should see a refund in a few days. Not only did we not get any type of a refund (not entirely surprising), but I have not been able to reach anyone to discuss the matter despite several attempts via email and telephone. My last message said I understand we likely wouldn't get a full refund but that I wanted to discuss this experience. This happened in May and it's now July. Still no response from the owners/managers. I had a bit of a bad feeling when we pulled up to the house and there was a for sale sign in the yard. It seems like the owner perhaps already kind of checked out. Bad experience, unfortunately.

It's beautiful (feels like your deep in the south) They spent 18 months renovating this place, They will tell you all about the history of house built in 1880's. Breakfast is @ 9, Your about 15 min walk to restaurants. We had a great stay & the owners are great people. Breakfast was great, Everything we had was local products. I have never been able to take my dog with me to a hotel and this was an extreme highlight. After a night of celebrating with friends we came home to my sleepy pooch and felt like we never left home. The front desk staff was kind and natural. It's an outdated place but we were treated with hospitality and kindness. The only issue was that our fridge didn't work and when we reported it a handy-person came to our door around 9am. I didn't let him in since it was just me and I was a little uncomfortable since the place is a little secluded and very quiet. He left a different mini fridge outside somewhere and we never resolved the issue. It didn't seem important enough. He was a nice guy, I just felt protective of myself and dog There's a big yard with a fire-pit in the back of the building and I think some fairgrounds down the road. Close to stores and downtown area, drive wise. I would definitely stay here again if I needed to. Our pet fee was even waived! She helped us with everything we needed, including late evening direction when google maps failed us and recommendations for a delicious breakfast spot in town. I will drive out of my way to stay here on my next trip through Wisconsin! As an extra, this is a very dog friendly inn. I did not have my dog with on this trip, but will next time I am through. I appreciate that floors are not carpeted, as in other dog friendly places, because it feels much cleaner and smells very fresh.

The towing impounded lot in the same city chargers substantially less for the same storage fees. The old man mike who works there just smiles and laughs when you tell him he isn't charging fair rates. It's unfair to deal with a man with horns on his head. The devil!!! Then I get home and all my power tools were stolen from my truck with only the bag they were in left. Along with all my hand tools like wrench's and sockets ect. That whole bag is missing wow those pricks . They told me they kept my truck in the garage downstairs so no one would take anything from it ... they are waste management trash. I hope I can find a way to prove that my tools were stolen by them!!! Yes my truck was impounded due to a police arrest,mike (owner of that trashy place). Does that give you the right to completely rip me off in by over charging and then stealing my personal property.
