On the second night ( as a woman staying there alone), I was woken up to someone trying to break in my room. He got the door actually open but the safety latch was on and could not get it open more than an inch. After 10-15 times of banging the door against the safety stop, I called the front desk and they apologized for giving someone the key and that they did not stop them in time. So instead of running up the stairs to stop them, they let them try to break in my room for 10 minutes. NOT a safe place to stay.

The staff was amazing, friendly and responsive. Its clear management cares about the property and it's clean and well cared for. The downsides mostly stem from it's age. This was clearly build in late 70's and the elements that are hard to change like trim and doors and carpet still show it. They have made many updates such as paint and new furniture and artwork, but fine touches like updating outlet covers and removing popcorn texture or replacing carpeting would help alot to make it feel more modern. The rooms are SMALL, or at least mine was. Think of how small a microtel room is and go a smidge smaller. That's not a bad thing but for the price it's too small. The bed and pillows were about what I'd expect out of super 8 - not uncomfortable but nothing amazing. Updating the pillows, mattress, and bedding would go a long way to justifying the nightly rate they are charging. The other miss was no breakfast. Maybe they closed it early? I walked in at 9a or just after on a weekday and the room was dark and nothing was set out aside from coffee. All in all, it's a pleasant property and if not for the price I'd rate it higher. I paid $90 for a queen for the night and in my view that's about 20 dollars high. That said, your other options in town appear to include bed bugs and none were encountered here so that's a plus.
