I live in California but my boyfriend in NY referred me to Bryan Cleversley for my taxes this year,…read moresince that's where he goes. i'd been using turbo tax the past few years and wasn't sure i was doing it correctly, especially after i bought a house. i asked bryan to also take a second look at my 2013 taxes as well, and he found a $1,000 error i missed on the PMI. this was back in mid march. the first thing that makes me give him a poor rating is that he took about 2 months to complete my 2014 taxes, and i had an $8,000 refund coming that i really needed, and i had told him so. secondly, i've been asking where my 2013 taxes are, and i get no response. i've sent him about 10 emails and made at least 15 phone calls, he is always "in a meeting" when the secretary asks who is calling. she isn't very pleasant either. i told her today "I don't care who calls me back, the janitor can call me for all i care, just please find out if my 2013 paperwork was e-filed or if i need to sign anything or what needs to happen so i get my $1,000, please!" guess what? again, no phone call, no email. WTF IT'S A QUESTION THAT WILL TAKE ABOUT A MINUTE FOR BRYAN TO ANSWER, SO I CAN WRAP THIS UP AND GET MY $!! HE IS THE WORST PROFESSIONAL I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. he even ended up giving me half off because he admitted he dropped the ball on my 2014 taxes. so you'd think he'd be quick about fixing this, right? i don't get what his deal is. When I had a few things I didn't know how to deal with, I hopped on the internet and searched for a place to get my taxes done. Jackson Hewitt? No, I've heard terrible things... H&R Block? I remember my mother used to use them and she HATED them, so that was a no. I really didn't know where to turn. My nights were becoming stressful because I usually had my taxes done the second I had my W2's. But with a confusing situation and some additional, unrecognizable documents, I didn't want to do it myself like I always had. I turned to Yelp. I searched "taxes", and Acade Tax Services, LLC was the first thing to pop up. "5 stars? Oh, this has to be a good place" I've always been the kind of person who has to hype themself up before making a phone call or I shout and cry because I'm not as much of an adult as I like to say I am. I called, and I got a machine (which is totally great!). The message told me I could make an appointment on the website. I made one there, and it was easy peasy. There are late appointments available (mine was at 8PM) which is great for someone like me who is a busy bumble bee. I was super nervous just becuase I'm that kind of person, but the whole experience was great. Darren is awesome to work with! He answered all of my questions, explained everything in detail when needed (I needed it a lot). He's very friendly and made me feel confident that I chose the right person this tax season. The website made it super easy to estimate how much it would cost based on what forms I needed, and I was able to schedule online and upload all of my documents to their secure site. Very reasonably priced service, friendly and helpful, and made the entire thing as stress-free as filing taxes can be. I'd give more than five stars if I could.
