Unexpectedly stumbled upon this restaurant and it was great. I was surprised that on a Friday night at 8pm the place was empty. We were the only people there. Such a beautiful and clean space. The design and detail here is amazing. The building is 3 floors. The food was delicious. We tried the chicken sandwich and the burger. Both made to order and very fresh. The fries are delicious as well. I had the home sweet home mocktail. It was.....different. The maple syrup is VERY strong. I told my boyfriend it was like drinking strawberry french toast. Service was amazing. Their English is very good. They accept both cards and cash. I paid with card and was able to leave a tip this way too. $535 pesos + tip Note: This isn't quick food. Be prepared to wait at least 20 mins. Update: came back for breakfast. 3/5 stars. Service was good but it took forever. Again, the only two people here. Didn't love it this time. The pancake was ok but it was so so thick. I had to drink so much water and only could eat half the entree. Pricey. Skip this place for breakfast and come for dinner instead. read more

GO HERE!!!! Yes YOUUUUU, read the rest of this at the restaurant! Ok now that you are sitting comfortably at one of the outdoor patios, or walking around admiring the art. First, you're welcome and second ...isn't this one of the coolest locations in Zihuatanejo? I was lucky in the fact that I was staying fairly close by, if you aren't near don't worry take the "Playa La Ropa" van/taxi to this location (the driver will know where to go). The ambiance here is an absolute 5/5, they have these amazing art installations throughout the restaurant along with these beautiful plants draped over the wooden beams and all over. It makes the place feel organic, alive in the literal sense. The interior is very modern, with concrete floors and this wooden bathroom sink that goes across every faucet, the place is just cool for the sake of being cool in the best way possible. I enjoyed the food so much, I came back twice! First for dinner, I was burned out on tacos and frijoles so this was a saving grace. A traditional burger and fries, and a well crafted cocktail was the reset I needed. I got the Vaca Loca burger and it was delicious, hand packed ground beef with bacon, tomato, pickles and melty cheddar cheese! The Home Sweet Home cocktail was also a winner, a little too sugary for me, but it was all in the name. Lastly the service was exceptional, the entire staff was welcoming and attentive. Even for breakfast, it was a different crew but same experience. Pro Tip: The pancakes are thiccccccc so if you don't like that incredibly dense floury taste and texture...just skip them altogether. Great creative and hipster place. The coffee is spectacular. The vibe is very Venice Beach CA. I loved the patio with the fan blowing in a very shady canopy, it was a welcomed respite from the equatorial heat. We sat around and ordered some breakfast. I got the quinoa bowl with two poached eggs. It was very fresh and great veggie protein. We also got the ricotta toast to share which was slightly sweet with honey and pina. Stephanie got the dumplings which were wonderful my in-laws ordered the heavy and decadent "madame" and a very boring breakfast sandwhich. The space is absolutely gorgeous! If you can stand to be away from the ocean for the duration of a meal, the ambiance inside this beautiful, stylish building can't be beat. The food comes from a food truck and it is good. We were there for breakfast. The hot chocolate was good enough that my daughter ordered a second cup and my wife also had a second cappuccino. The chilaquiles verdes were a little bit tart for my taste, and they were also quite soupy with cubes of cheese that were more reminiscent of tofu than anything else. I had the tortilla de pan because it sounded unique and intriguing, but when the dish came out, I realized that it had neither a tortilla nor any bread - it was, in fact, what I refer to as a Spanish omelette. It was fine, I just wish that it had been appropriately named and not so confusing on the menu. My daughter got the avocado toast, which was the best of the bunch. The bread that they use for the toast seemed to be thick cut, artisanal sourdough and there were heaping mounds of avocado. On top of it with a fried egg and salsa roja. We had brunch at Loot. The coffee and Mexican chocolate milk were great. Our food was good but not as good as we expected. Service was very good since we were visiting during low season so the restaurant was quiet. Our server was very attentive and told us all about Zihua. We tried "Loot" last night as it came up as a nice bar in Zihuatanejo. Well, it was so much more than a bar, in fact, one of the most wonderful dining experiences we have ever had as a family! Great seafood, apps and dinner, and wonderful deserts. Wine was awesome, and the service was tremendous! But also go there for the ambiance, as the dining room is one of the most magical rooms you will ever dine in! It felt like we were in Bali or Thailand. So beautiful and well decorated! Highlight of our trip. We stayed at the Thompson over the winter holiday and went to Loot as often as we could. The food and price point was the best of the trip. Loot had recently updated its menu. We had green juices every morning and tried many of the items on the menu of over the course of the trip. The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent. For the interior, design and overall atmosphere, I would give Loot 5 stars. Very cool layout and design. For the food, 3 1/2 stars. Great presentation but tries to be a little too exotic. Loot is the place to go if you are in Zihua. Great coffee, the music is excellent, and the place is a modern artistic space- which isn't very common here. Hipster and modern, nicely located next to the beach, and the food is also very well prepared. A great place to hang out with friends. read more
