In June of 2022 Tyrone, owner of Technically Aesthetic quit. The process of building our home was a terrible experience for us. We were supposed to have 12 foot ceilings and material was bought according to accommodate that, plus additional material that wasn't needed. I realized that the post were cut and installed for 10 foot ceilings. I contacted Tyrone and he said he would fix it if I wanted, but I chose to continue with the build because by the time the post were set we had been waiting approximately 6-7 month to even start the framing process. During the framing of the interior structure I realized some of the window frames and walls were being framed in the wrong location. I brought this to the attention of the supervisor and he verified they were off by about 6 inches. If I didn't discover this, my kitchen cabinets wouldn't of fit. Siding, exterior doors and windows were installed without any vapor barrier. I discovered this and requested that he come out to see this for himself. He continued to send his employees to install the siding for 3 days before he showed up. I had the county inspector there when Tyrone arrived and the inspector went over all the things that needed to be replaced and fixed. 2 of my exterior doors were damaged during the first installation and they are still damaged. I was being billed for hours that his employees were working at my house and I felt the hours I was being charged didn't line up with the hours his employees were working. I requested several times to be given the hours and days that his employees were being paid for so I could compare to my notes. I also asked for proof of payment to his employees so I could see if they were being paid the anout I was being charged. He only supplied me with the weekly total hours but not the days and time of clock in and clock out. I also never received proof of payment to his employees. I was checking my invoices and realized I was double billed a couple times. I emailed his secretary and she promptly corrected the mistake and apologized. I went through the receipts and found items that I was being charged for that were being bought to fix contractor errors. I was never notified of the correction or that I was being charged to fix it. Tyrone made changes to the plans without getting my approval. He rented equipment and had it delivered from another town with a $400 delivery fee. He could of rented it in the town that my home was being built at for a delivery fee of $100. I told him that was unacceptable so he removed to delivery fee. But he didn't call to have the equipment picked up so we were charged for a 2 day rental when his employees only used it for approximately 1-2 hours. I'm including pictures that I took throughout Tyrone's contracted build of my house.

My experience with this contractor is exactly what these negative reviews are describing. Communications, taking ownership of his poor quality work, and timeline of work was horrible. We had to get a lawyer and take this contractor to court to get part of our deposit back due to breach of contract in which we won the judgement. We had to place a lien on his business and currently working on other ways to redeem our money as well as filing with the state of Tennessee to put this company under investigation due to all the complaints filed. Again I would advise to check all reviews on here, yelp and houzz.com. Also contact the Tennessee state dept. of commerce and insurance and have them look this company up. They will tell you all the complaints this company has. There are many complaints I found. I wish I had known before dealing with this company.

Their fees are reasonable and quite competitive - we'd bid it out to three different companies and this team offered the best overall value for the price, with quality materials, and then they further exceeded our expectations with excellent work and customer service. They were prompt, responsive, and they did great work, taking care of everything as if it were their home, protecting the areas and picking up all garbage, etc. - and they did it all quickly, exactly within the timeline they said they would do it. Can't say enough good things about this team. Highly recommending them to our family and friends, and if you engage them to do your roof, you'll be happy as well. They did such a great job with the roof that we're now speaking with them about doing the gutters for the house once we're ready.
